  1. Here is a Z related question and I know it has been asked before but here goes. How do you connect the Tilton clutch master to the 93 Trans Am T56 Slave and once connected, how is it blead since there is no bleed screw?
  2. Paul, this is Larry from Sandy High. Do you know where I could find some wiring instructions for getting this 93 LT1 wired to my 240Z. I have the engine in and the factory harness just laying there and I am trying to figure out where all the wires go, if they go any where. I know that 12 Volts is required but where and what else is needed. I know someone has done this swap and probably has the answers. I know that this is probably easier to do than it looks. Just need some direction
  3. I know a lot of you have done this conversion so I am wondering if anyone has a engine wire harness diagram that would show where the unconnected leads from my harness should hook up. I count 8 connectors and one vacume line coming out of the harness, One connector has a very heavy wire in it (maybe a #8) which I suppose is the power to the engine system and ECM. It's purple in color. I would be happy to pay for the help, just let me know how much. I have the Helms manual for the 93 Trans AM but it's not written in laymans language and I am definitely a layman when it comes to Fuel injection wiring. You need to undestand schematics and be able to convert them to the actual harness connectors. May be you all know of a source for these directions. I have the JTR manuals they but only deal with '80's series TBI and TPI engines and their diagrams don't look anything like this LT1 harness. Their books stop at 1992. Nothing for LT1 or LS1. Strange since these are the engines of choice these days. Does Johns Cars have better books? Any help would be appreciated. One final Note. I just went to Johns Cars to see if they had a wiring diagram and John told me that he does not get into wiring a f uel injected car at all. Imust go to a harness company like "Painless". So Please help.
  4. Hey this 93 lt1 has a tag on it indicating that it has a reprogramed chip in it, The company is ADS Superchips out of Tyler Texas. Anyone heard of them or have any imput, I went to their web site and they didn't list any products for an older LT1.
  5. Yea, I was told by the previous owner that the chip had been up graded I believe while it war still in the 93 TA. What would I need to delete or would I have to delete anything out of this system for the install in a non smog installation in the 240Z. Thanks
  6. What are the things to know about the OBD1 as that is what I am installing into the gold 240Z. It's out of a 93 Trans Am/ LT1/T56 Just got the "Helms" Factory Shop Manual for the TA. About 2" thick. Should have any answer that I might want except what I can de-program out of the computer if you can that sort of thing with the OBD1
  7. PS. The color of the car is now Dessert Gold but the engine bay and door jams ar oringinal yellow which matches pretty close
  8. I have a oringial paint yellow 71 car. Does anyone know where I can go to get the paint code number as it is no longer on the car, a web site that lists them by year or something like that, I think there is a couple of Yellows. Thanks This web site has the touchup paint WWW.automotivetouchuppaint.com
  9. Consider a V8. LT1's are $700 up and T5's are 400 to 500, Course there are a few more parts needed.
  10. Deja, would you tell me what fuel pump you are using and are you using the stock tank, The JTR manual says that a 280Z fuel pump will rin a 5.7 liter V8 so today at Pic A Part a found one on a '91 280Z TURBO, so I bought it . I figured that the turbo produces more power so the pump would have to be able to deliver more fuel. What do you think?
  11. For those of use who have manual transmissions, is it possible to use the trans cooler in the radiator tank for an oil cooler. Would that work. Any Ideas, Seems simpler than mounting another cooler in front of the radiator.
  12. Paul, I am from the class of '66 Sandy Highschool. May be you heard the name. Me and my brothers use to be well known in them thar mountains. On another note though. would you tell me how to post pictures like you do, Haven't been quite able to figure it out. Must be the water.
  13. I have read both the JTR books for the first time this weekend and I will read them a few more times before I am through with this conversion but as I read the books, it was clear that they weren't too interested in LT1's or T56's. All they talk about is TBI this and TPI that. For my installation, is these books the right ones for the job? Any comments would be appreciated.
  14. Deja, would you mind telling me where you got the mandrel bent polished tubing and is that an air Condensor in front of your radiator? Any heating problems? I am using a JTR kit and their alluminum Radiator. Not running yet. M1noel. Thanks for info on the switch but what did you do for a Seedometer connection on the t56, Did you use a modified tail housing from stealth products like JTR reccomends or something else?
  15. Thanks for the info. I went ahead and bought the car, the one pictured in my signature. I thought it was normal and didn't think that it would be the end of the world as we know it if it needed repair. Very small cracks on an otherwise very clean car. LT1/T56
  16. Well I bought the LT1 pictured. Now all I have to do is get running. JTR installation but the tunnel looks way to small for the T56 in there, A electical sender of some type is hard up against the tunnel wall, Does any one know what this connection might be, The JTR install really doesn't talk about the LT1/T56 install much but I haven't finished the book yet and the I will start the fuel injection book next. What is a good source for air intake part for this 240z with the LT1. What is every one using, Thanks for the help. Maybe I can return the favor
  17. Paint is cracked a little, can't tell if it's into the metal without grinding off a fresh paint job, Tower struts have added to stop this. Is these kind of stress cracks normal for a 240Z. It's academic now as I boughgt the car but still would like to know. Thanks to everyone
