I know this pretains to BAMF flares but i thought youd like to know that the 11" wide wheels worked out well on the ZG flares. They stick out just a tad which i like.
1 5/8" runners or the flange exit is 1 5/8''? Also look into C5 xhuast manifolds. They hug the block Very tightly and are stainless steel. Only problem is that you will need a sharp 90 degree bend towards the front as the collector meets in the middle.
Thanks for the responses. Guys this is the specific "universal" adapter that motive sells for our "small bore" reservoirs. The co-owner Eric said he maid these specifically for the 240/260/280 and other small 2 tabbed reservoirs.
So after some discussion with motive they said that this is the top to use with the willwood 260-8555 BMC (common 1" we use on our cars)
This seems odd to me.. Does anyone else use this for the 2 tab reservoirs on these BMC's?
Thanks miles! I forgot to mention I have the 1" willwood BMC. It looks like they sell a kit specially for willwood. That probably explains why it never held pressure.
What are you guys using? I tried to make one a while ago but could never get it seal on the MC. Everytime I pumped to build pressure or pressure the MC it would just spill over.
Guys thanks for the replies. I'm aware that the harnesses are seperate. I also probably overstated my greenness. I do infact have good knowledge of wiring basics although I've never tried to tackle this much at one time. I know everything works on the car as far as wiring but these componets are getting old and the previous owner did things very half assed. I'm afraid of a fire hazard at this point. It will be suite me to start over. Now I know the dominator/engine harness is seperate/plug and play so that is taken care of. What I'm looking for is reccomendations on a small kit to take care of the functions I mentioned.
Background: 77' 280Z with an LS motor and the holley dominator EMS as well as Holley LS full engine wiring harness. This car once had a GM factory ECU and LS engine harness. The previous owner did a total hack job and i want nothing more than to start over and get rid of this rats nest under my dash. the problem is i am a virgin to wiring.. Im more than willing to learn though.
The good thing is that i have aftermarket guages/no AC/no PS/ no heater/no radio/no nothing.. The only thing i need to is control the basics such as turn signals/brake lights/headlights/wipers etc. Also i would like to add that i want to retain the factory switches on the column in doing so.
What is an affordable EASY way to achieve this for a rookie such as myself? I see some companies sell universal kits but i would like some feed back from guys who have gone this stripped down route. Id really like to get rid of the the old school fuse panel and start fresh with something more neat and organized. I'll need all the room i can get trying to squeeze the dominator ECU under the dash.
Thanks again for the help!
I get the reason and benefits of LED lighting. The amount of bulbs per light is what i don't like. It looks cheesy and "ricey" but hey this is just my opinion.
Yes, that's me. I used a SS flange not mild steel. I used 316L becuase it's what I had lying around. I believe "they" at your suppose to use a nickel based filler but we'll see very soon (will be fired up in the next few weeks)
A few of you might be aware but for those who are not i made some "custom" Datsun hats that are for sale in the group buy section. Well I got a lot of flack from the wife that the old school Datsun logo looks like the pepsi sign she is constantly reminding me that she thinks its ugly.
Well yesterday on our flight home from Honduras there was a male flight attendant who complimented me on the hat when i stepped on board. We had a brief chat about his 510's and my 280 before taking my seat. I told my wife that the hat was awesome and she wouldn't understand. The entire flight this particular flight attendant was bringing us extra drinks/food and even gave us a free bottle of champagne that was left on board from the previous trip. When i thanked him as we where disembarking he literally said it was all becuase of the hat! She was extremely impressed in the Dastun brotherhood It was a cool experience.
