Yeah. Ive been told that the flat tops suck by several people. This car might be his high performance car so we were talking about doing L28ET swaps in both our cars.

I think the Z virus might be spreading. Lock up the women and children. Otherwise they might get all the good cars before the rest of us. Took her for a drive and I can definitely say I need to practice driving a stick. lol. Other than that she drives a little rough. Sounds like its missing and it has an exhaust leak somewhere. We are gonna give it a full tune-up tomorrow. It needs a new radio and speakers to. The old radio wont tune and it only has 1 speaker and it just rolls around behind the seat. Once we get it running good we will start to enhance it by getting rid of the emissions stuff and getting some better carbs. Probably some round tops unless he decides on something else. He is excited about it. He now owns his 2 top dream cars. two 68 Firebirds (One numbers matching fully restored and the other a stripped shell getting new floor pans and right quarter) and a non fuel injected S30.

My dad has caught a horrible virus. The virus causes him to spend large amounts of money. The virus I speak of is the Z virus. My dad just bought a 260z that is in very good condition. Here is a link (Don't know how long it will last though). http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/ctd/1043202014.html Paid $3,500 Rails all seem solid. New seat covers. Paint is pretty good. Only real rust we could find was the drivers side floor pan but it doesn't seem too bad. I'll post pics later once I get some. Let us know what you think.

Id like to read that one.

Hey Garrett. Just wondering how much money you have into your motor. You have almost the same setup I'm looking at having.

Making my own EFI intake... The First Casting

Glad to hear things are coming along. Can't wait for your next video. -
I don't think the wheels are all that bad. Maybe a couple inches smaller and some thicker rubber. It would be a better ride as well.
-
Beautiful. Anybody else notice that the front brake caliper has a Z emblem? I want a set of those.
-
I'll be there. I took the day off from work and I'm hoping to have my interior done (cross your fingers). Unfortunately I had an unpleasant surprise when I took my carpet out today. I have a good size hole in my floor board that goes right through to the frame rail. Rail looks good but the hole really sucks. But other than that just gotta get some carpet and paint a couple more things.

Can't wait to see you there. That is the second time I've seen that video. First time I just happened to stumble across it while looking for z car vids. You do some great work. The beginning is the Krispie Kreme at the Tacoma mall right? Its hard to tell from that distance.

I was 18, now 19. I have a long list of cars I want to own someday and I had always liked the look of Z's. My neighbor had a 280zx a few years ago and it was always out front for me to drool over. Then he sold it and not long after my friend bought one. He took me for a ride once and I was hooked. I opened the door and Betty started bitchin and scared me. lol. It wasn't even a turbo. It was just a 2 seater with a 5 speed but it could get up and go. Unfortunately it was totaled by a guy that ran a red light in a large lifter truck. When I was looking for my first car my requirments were pretty low since I wasn't looking to spend more than $500. Just wanted something that ran and drove, and maybe something I could do some work to later. I was looking for an old beetle of VW bus for awhile until I found my baby listed on craigs list one day. 1983 280zx 2+2 automatic NA $475. Been sitting for 7 years with little rust, everything worked, interior was a 5 out of 10. Mostly just dirty and mildewie. I went to look at it with a friend a couple days later and fell in love. We went back the next day so my dad could look at it and he liked it so I paid the man and took my baby home. The whole way home all I could think about was all the things I wanted to do to her. Shes come a long way since I've owned her. It may not show to most people but I know where she started. Its gonna be a long time still before shes done. Maybe she never will, but thats ok with me.

S130 bonnet/hood vents
Ferrariferg replied to 260DET's topic in Windtunnel Test Results and Analysis
I would imagine that the air flowing over them creates low pressure that draws the hot air out of the engine compartment. The turbo hood scoop draws in air to cool the turbo and a small portion to cool the brake and clutch master cylinder area. I'm sure they are not in the optimal position but these cars were a balance of style and performance. -
I agree with big-phil. My dad has a true shop.

:hail: Amazing. I love to see a persons idea become a working reality. I hope you can get it tuned right soon. -
It might be a couple days late but HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! If you ask my dad he will tell you that I live on this forum. WOW! 9 years. I havn't even been a member for a year yet, but I have learned more about cars in general in that short time than I have over the last 18 years. Thank you all for keeping Hybridz going for all these years.

Glad i could help. I'll take the tail lights as payment. lol. JK. Hopefully the new connectors will help. I would definitely check the timing though. That would be the only thing I can think of that would cause it to backfire. If that doesn't work then have the injectors flow tested and clean all your fuel lines. Hope you can get it going strong. I havn't even been in a turbo'd car of any kind yet but I'm addicted to boost. I guess my friend had a turbo LeBaron that I rode in a lot but I don't count it. The turbo is the size of a doughnut and the car needs it or its amazingly slow.

I'm no expert but I'm thinking timing, injectors, fuel pump, or a combo of the 3. Check the injector and connector on 3 for sure.

Making my own EFI intake... The First Casting

LMAO. Who says I gave that up? This was almost as good though. Now that you mention it. My valve cover is looking pretty plain to. Maybe I'll have to have you cast me a special one. lol. -
I only paid about $8 for a filter. Islanddozer, are you using the clear filter on an FI setup? I was told not to use one because they can't handle the high PSI.

Speechless. Its almost sad to see it come to an end. This was my favorite project to fallow. What will I ever look at while I'm at work now. I agree with getting rid of the fan. I did and am glad I did. looks so much cleaner and I can actually work on the front my my engine. Cools a little better I think to. -
No fair. Thats in my price range for my parts car I'm looking for. Great find though. When you part it out give me a ring. I'll take bumpers, tail lights, Manual trans components, and I'm sure I can think of a few other things. lol.
-
I'm still tossing around the idea of making coilovers or getting the tokico kit as well. I'm starting to think I should just go with coilovers so I wont want to change later.

Well I have been doing some work to my interior and its too expensive to have my old seats recovered and I dont really care for them much. I want something with more support and that will match my interior. I found these seats on summit and they look pretty nice: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SCA-80-1606-64L&N=700+4294925230+4294839019+4294804476+115&autoview=sku I wanted to know if anybody has used these seats before and if so what did you think of them? Were they comfortable and were they durable? I'm a pretty big guy so would I have any problems fitting? Would anybody know what the dimensions of the seats are or if they would fit in a 280zx? Thanks for any help. Kyle
