No overdrive. But it does give you control of the gears seeing as how its a 3 speed and has a selection for 1st, 2nd, and drive. I'm trying to track down a 5 speed and all the necessary pieces for that but no luck yet.

I would love to drift mine but I'm not too sure how easily I would be able to drift with an automatic. lol. I was driving it home the other day and took a pretty sharp corner and gave it some gas and it felt like it wanted to go but I didn't give it enough gas and even then I don't think I would have worked. Needs more torque. Plan on doing a manual trans swap and a turbo motor swap with a better turbo and an intercooler someday when I have the money. Can't wait to see the vids. Would it easier to drift a 2+2 or harder?

Sorry about being so vague. I have to actually look at the wires while typing to see what is hooked up to what. I will take my laptop out tomorrow and take a look.

I really need to get back into school. Not really sure what I would want to do though. I sure do miss it though.

I would love to see some vids of all these zx's drifting. Gives me that warm fuzzing feeling inside when I see my car (280zx's) going sideways. Puts a big smile on my face. Kyle

I would love to see some gull wings on a z. Just an all around better design. Easier to get in and out of the car and they need less clearance to open than normal doors.

Thats just how my car should look. Too bad the previous owners didnt keep it covered. Very nice car.

I'm not even sure what wires go to the dimmer or if I even used them. It all came from installing the stereo. I think I might have had my antenna hooked up wrong. I disconnected it last night and drove my car a few miles and didn't have any issues. But still doesn't fix my light problem.

I used all the stock wiring. I hate rewiring. I will if I have to. That would be one other thing I haven't checked yet would be to remove the radio. Luckily my dad hasnt made my faceplate yet so its just sitting in the hole. I should also mention that this is a 280zx in case that helps.

Beautiful. cant wait to see these done and on the car. This would be an awesome alternative to triple webers. Any thoughts to produce and sell these? I'm sure someone has asked but there are too many post for me to read through. Keep up the work. Kyle

Alright. So I installed a new stereo after removing the stock one and ever since then my dimmer nob stopped working. My voltage meter, oil pressure meter, and shifter console stopped lighting up when they are supposed to. And my room light fuse keeps blowing. It only blows while I'm driving. Sometimes it blows before I'm even out of my driveway but others I can go for a few blocks. I've checked all my wiring and my grounds and it all checks out. I just cant figure out what the problem is. I disconnected the dimmer and drove around but same thing. My friends told me to use a bigger fuse do to using a more powerful stereo and speakers so I have tried different sizes from 10 to 25amp. I don't feel safe going any higher than that. Right now I'm thinking I have a short in my antenna electrical or I'm getting a power surge from my alternator (Seems unlikely to me since that would blow more than one fuse). What do you all think? Any ideas are appreciated. Kyle

I would say do a google search on wet sanding lacquer.

I went to the last one at evergreen speedway. It was AWESOME. It was my first drift event. Have a completely bald toyo in my room used and signed by Ken Gushi.

I probably should have checked on this to. My car had been sitting for 7 years but all I had to do was hook up a battery and it started right up. I don't recommend that though.

Not sure. Check the can of paint or contact the manufacturer. I would say wait a week but I hear some people do it after 24 hours.

lol. Right after I asked I found one for sale on eBay that doesn't say Turbo. I think I might bid on it. I don't want to put it on my car but I want to mount it on my wall in my room. Last I looked it was only $15 with shipping.

I was calling around to a few junk yards and parts dealers in my area looking for any place that had a 280zx or parts. I called this one place and the guy asks me what I'm looking for. I say 79-83 280zx. He starts typing on his computer and says "That's a Toyota right?" I say no. It will be under Nissan or Datsun. He says "No. I'm pretty sure its Toyota. My jaw dropped and I started to argue with the guy. He was convinced it was a Toyota. This went on for about a minute until he tried Nissan. He says 240sx right? At this point I want to strangle the poor bastard just to put him out of his misery. I say "no. 280zx.". He then asks "Isn't that a Datsun?" OMG!!! We eventually find out that they don't have what I'm looking for. How did this guy get a job at a junk yard? And how is he going to tell me what my car is? I'm never calling that place again.

Very nice car Bleach. Is that piece on the back between the tail lights something that came stock on these cars or even something that can be bought? I have never seen that before.

Awesome. I have never seen that done before. My dad and I can both use that.

I've always been told to paint a panel in the same position it will be on the car. So doors are vert and hoods and trunk lids are horizontal.

I junked mine. One of my first mods I made to my car was to make it sound the way I wanted and to free up a few ponies. I cut the flanges off and welded them to a piece of pipe. Gave me a bit of trouble when one of the bolts sheared right off but I got it done and I have the sound.

Very nice. Much more modern look.
