I've done some pretty stupid things in my life. ADD YOURS!
Ferrariferg replied to maichor's topic in Non Tech Board
wow. I don't have any stories as good/bad as those. The worst I have happened on March 13th 2009 (Friday the 13th). I was bored and had the need to take the ZX for a drive around the neighborhood. I came to one of my favorite round-a-bouts and did a quick lap around it to make sure there wasn't anybody around. All clear. I flick the wheel and give her a little gas. The rear breaks loose and smoke starts to fill the air. I have a good drift going for not having much practice. I get around the first time and think "One more time". I get about half way around the second time and I let off the gas just a tad too much and my tires suddenly grab. The next thing I know I am now sitting on top of the round-a-bout. My right rear tire is still on the road but the left rear is contacting about a 1" patch on the edge of the round-a-bout. I, at the time, though my right wheel was the drive wheel so I put her in reverse and think I'll be fine. I give her some gas and smoke fills the air again. I realised at that moment which wheel really had the power. I shut the car off and put it in nuetral in hopes I can push it down. Not a chance. Just then a truck drives up and the driver says he will help me down for $5. I wanted my car down so I agreed. He asks if I have rope and I say no, so him and his friend help me push the car down. Popped right down with the 3 of us. But they decided they had done their part and let the car roll into the curb across the street with me trying to stop if by myself. I stop the car and put it in park. No sooner is the car in park that the guy asks for the money. I give them the $5 and then they ask me if I smoke pot. I should have guessed that they wanted drug money. Luckily my car came out with only a cracked front turn signal lens from my knee slipping while pushing the car. I deffinatly learned my lesson. Dont drift on Friday the 13th and dont use the street tires. Too much grip. lol. -

Good work. I have the same ideas as far as doing as little cutting and modifying as possible. Any plans to sell those adapters? -

Ferrariferg replied to slownrusty's topic in Miscellaneous Tech
I think I'll order them this weekend if I have money left after the bills. -
Very nice work Yasin. You should really thing about producing these.

I must not be very good at searching. lol. Too bad nobody makes a triple pod for the Miata.

Finally...Tested...The Truth About A Pillar Pods!!
Ferrariferg replied to slownrusty's topic in Miscellaneous Tech
Has anyone tried the RX7 FC pods yet? I found single pods for about $10 apiece. If not maybe I will order them and try them out. If they don't work I can always sell them to my friend who has 2 FC's. -
Thanks. How did that not come up when I searched? Hmmm.

I've been searching for awhile now but can't seem to find anything. Were can I find a pillar gauge pod for a 280zx? Is there a universal one that I can will work or one for another car that I can adapt? Right now I have 2 extra gauges (Oil Temp and Boost/Vac) located next to my radio but I want to add an AFR gauge but I'm out of room, and I don't care too much for the location of the other 2. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Hey Rusty. If you don't need another car I'll be more than happy to take it off your hands. lol.

Making my own EFI intake... The First Casting
Ferrariferg replied to Derek's topic in Nissan L6 Forum
Glad to hear you got that worked out. Good stuff to know since I'm trying to MS my own car. Can't get the dang thing to register on the computer though. Can't wait for better videos. -
This just caught my attention because My NA has brown tops. Maybe we are all getting this backwards?
-
The interior of a 260 is closer to that of a 280 I believe. The panels from a 240 would probably fit, but they are probably not going to match the rest of the interior style. But I could be wrong.
-
I'm not saying they won't. Just that I hadn't heard anything about it. I can think of a list of reasons as to why they should, and probably will have them. I personally like the look or them without sidewalls but I don't think I would buy any because I think the cool factor would wear off after they start to get filled with dirt and grime. Having to clean them out all the time would get old really quick.
-
I've been seeing these on TV for years. I hope they come out some time soon. I've never heard any mention of a sidewall before. The idea is for them to be light weight and use less rubber so a sidewall is not necessary to keep its shape.

Mom and youngest brother in the hospital
Ferrariferg replied to Ferrariferg's topic in Non Tech Board
Just a little update. They are both back at their homes and doing well. My brother has a cast on his wrist (again) and my mom has to use a walker for a little while. Other than that they are good. Thank you everyone for your support. We all greatly appreciate it. -
I wish I could tell you how I did it but I haven't yet. lol. I want to get a donor car like I describe in my sig. If you come across one let me know.

Welcome to the forum. I'm doing an L28ET swap some time in the future I hope. I'm not looking to get any MASSIVE power so there isn't any reason to do a V8 swap. Just depends on what your looking for in power. Hope to see you at Golden Gardens on the 29th.

I'll be back in a few minutes. I have to find the mop to clean up my drool. My friend has a 91 RX7 and I know he would love to have that. lol.

Losing interest in the Z...what would you do if you had the money?
Ferrariferg replied to zeeboost's topic in Non Tech Board
I personally love both vettes and vipers, but I like the personal satisfaction of looking at the guy with the nice new vette and telling him that I built mine with my own hands and it will smoke his (not that it can at the moment but that's my motivation). Just gives me that warm fuzzy feeling. Especially when its true and you have to prove it. But $30k is a lot of money. Really is a tuff decision. -
I don't know much about roll cages or roll bars but as far as a harness I would suggest at least a 5 point. I have a 4 point in my car and unless you have a gut to hold the lap belt in your lap, then the shoulder straps will put it in your chest. I might be looking for new harnesses sometime soon and I will be getting 5 points. Just my $.02

Custom grill, bumpers, and rear lights!!!

Very nice. I love the look of the whole car. Where did you get the tail lights from? I like how they blend into the whole panel. -
Mom and youngest brother in the hospital
Ferrariferg replied to Ferrariferg's topic in Non Tech Board
Thank you everyone. Your support really helps. I haven't heard anything new about either of them but when I was leaving the hospital everybody was saying "no news is good news" so I'm hoping its true. I'll find out in a little while. -
Mom and youngest brother in the hospital
Ferrariferg replied to Ferrariferg's topic in Non Tech Board
Thank you all. This forum is the greatest. Its full of people that care. -
My mom and youngest brother were in a car wreck yesterday. My moms car was T-boned at an intersection by an SUV doing about 60 MPH. The car was hit on the passenger side where my brother was. My brothers head went through the window (not the wind shield). The car was spun around several times and was tossed about 50-60 feet down and across the road. My brother had to be air lifted to Harborview in Seattle and my mom was taken by ambulance a few hours later. My brother has a fractured skull, blood on the brain, swelling of the brain, fractured wrist, and a possible broken shoulder. He is in critical but stable condition. My mom has several broken vertebrates, internal bleeding, and her kidneys might be failing. She might need surgery but I havn't heard anything more since I left the hospital this morning. I plan on going back in a couple hours. If your religious please say a prayer for them. This is a very hard time for me and the rest of my family.
