  4. Sorry for bringing back such an old thread but does anyone have pics of a sump, like the one pictured above, installed on a Z tank? I'm trying to get as much info on doing that or just going to a cell. The car won't be a daily or anything so if he hangs down some I'm not too worried about it, just want to see what it may look like.
  5. 044 pumps have been around for awhile, alot of high HP DSM guys run them. I was going to probably use one in my Z but having 2 is definitely good insurance for high HP, high boost engines. I would trust one of those over an Aeromotive pump anyday.
  6. I guess you made some plastic surrounds for the Autometer gauges? Very clean looking. I'm looking to do the same.
  7. I agree, it does vary from shop to shop. There's a local Maaco here that a friend of mine took his Eclipse to afew years back and had it done for 1000$. That was all the door jams, engine bay and clearcoat. It came out really nice, I was surprised. I'll probably take the Z there when it needs a spray.

  12. Yes the 4G swap into a Starquest has been done many times over the years, probably because it was the only RWD Mitsu car around. Another swap was into the Mighty Max truck.

  14. I'm interested to know whether the S-tec manifold fits the S30 w/ the RB as well.
  15. Ya, the EVO stuff is still somewhat expensive, though have I seen entire IX engines going for under 3K$ Considering you can get a 2JZ or RB for under that, it makes it tough to go that route. And like you said, there aren't any mounts or adapters, you'd have to custom fab everything up. Its doable, just not the easiest thing choice. The regular 4G would be the best way to go. You can mate that up to a Conquest trans very easily.
  16. When I first got my Z I thought about doing a EVO IX MIVEC into it. Considering how easy it is to do 400 on pump with bolt ons, it would make a great street car.
  17. You can do it but there are probably some negative effects. As long as you don't put it on really thick, you should be fine. People ask me about powder coating IC's and I usually steer them away from it, or just do the endtanks.

  20. I do ceramic coating in my shop and you don't have to coat the WG but it does help to keep as much heat inside the exhaust at possible. But if you already put it back together, its not going to hurt anything if you don't coat it too.
  21. Ya, even the DSM community is now beyond the VPC for the most part. A friend of mine has a headunit that he would sell me for cheap, but like you said, the chip would be the hard part. I don't know anyone in Japan to call thats for sure. They can be hard wired into the ECU harness, so thats not too big of a deal. Guess its time to learn the EMS....
