Perfect weather yesterday for a fly-in. Dark green aircraft is a Nanchang CJ-6, yellow and gray is a North American AT-6, the blue and white is a Yak 52, and I was shooting from another Yak 52.

Lock mechanism problems that have been going on for years
p-factor replied to Hugh's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
I have a similar problem. The driver's side does not lock from outside with the key, and I can't press the lock down even when holding the outside handle up. To lock the doors I have to get out, walk around the car, reach in and lock the driver's door, then close the passenger door, lock it with the key, and then lock the hatch. PO said it's been that way for as long as he owned it, and I haven't had time to really investigate it further. -
As is often the case, the simplest solution was the correct one. The fuse was bad. I checked it out before posting this thread and it looked fine, but on closer inspection the glass on the fuse was cracked all the way through. I guess one of my passengers that day accidentally knocked it, and since the fuse cover won't stay on, it broke. No need to take apart the switch or any of that, it was just a simple fuse! Now I need to find a new fuse for the horn to replaced the one I scavenged.

Assuming standard atmospheric conditions and an approach speed of 125 knots indicated, true airspeed (groundspeed with no wind) would be about 160 knots, or 185 mph. So your estimate wasn't too far off! I can tell you that when flying the piaggio, with an approach speed of 120 knots, that when landing at airports like Aspen, Eagle, or especially Telluride (with a field elevation of 9070 ft MSL) you can really feel the difference in true airspeed!

*She*, apparently. (according to the other users)

Crack is whack.

Lots of tire rollover on the rear tires during the drifts! Neat to see, those beads have to be really strong to keep the tire on the rim.

I keep forgetting that the year and model isn't on the profile info on the left, sorry. It's a '74. (there...I put it in the sig!) I'm not quite understanding. What "closest to me" wire? Thanks all, now I have to decide whose 'fix' is right!

Starting just yesterday when I turn on the headlights I get headlights ONLY. No dash illumination, no marker lights on the sides, no tail lights (but brake lights work). Not sure if the turn signals are working or not(I *think* they do), and I'm out of town now so I can't check. Sounds to me like the switch, since I'd doubt the dash lighting and tail lights would be tied together anywhere else. Has anyone has this problem or have any suggestions?

Thanks! *Kinda* broke a camera? There's an interesting story there, I just know it. P.S. Don't forget to add a location to your profile before they block you. Seriously, I can't make this stuff up. -
Pilot. I fly one of <--- these.

I'd love to see pics of it both before and after install! -
Only thing worse is "Say souls on board and fuel remaining in minutes...." or "...EVERYBODY STOP! Cessna three four Echo, what are you doing!? I TOLD you to turn RIGHT on Bravo...."

I'm sure you've been into McGuire a few dozen times then. My home airport is right under the approach to rwy 6 at KWRI. I've had a few close run-ins around the area with KC-10s, C-17s, KC-135s, and even the C-141s before they retired. Nice blog, BTW. Sorry... "journal".

As a teenager I had a huge crush on a handful of cars, one of which was the Z32 (also in there was the VW Corrado, dunno why, just loved the look and peformance). As I aged, my tastes changed and I fell head over heels for the S30 and ended up buying one. Nothing brand specific or anything like that, I just L-O-V-E the look. When I take the trash out to the garage I stop and stare at my car for a while, thinking about the next time I can take her out, and definitely looking forward to warmer weather!

Wow, for sure, those welds look like crap. Almost looks like they just tacked it on there for the picture, I certainly hope they wouldn't arrive like that! -
I've flown over it a few times going in or out of TUS, simply amazing. After the first time I spent over an hour looking at the google earth images and taking my own virtual tour of the base and ID-ing the aircraft types. Very cool!

I was just looking at the picture again. It looks like the headers are going to end up pointing straight down, not back like they should. How are you going to install them? -

Wow those look really nice. For the price, I don't think you can go wrong. Maybe you can be the guinea pig and tell the rest of us how they turn out! It would certainly look a heck of a lot nicer under the hood than my rusty hookers. -
does anyone have a clear picture of the lower...
p-factor replied to grumpyvette's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
I just went outside and tried to take a picture of that area but I can't get the camera down there and pointed in the right direction, sorry. I think if anyone had a picture it would definitely be on a stand. -
I'm ok with them all being "watched" but there's no differentiation between watched topics with new posts and those without. And they're all mixed up by date, newer posts wedged in between really old ones: There is a workaround, if I click on "My Settings" then click "Forums" then click on "Managed Watched Topics" I can tell by the color of the icon whether there's a new post or not, but they're still sorted unusually, I haven't figured out exactly what yet, maybe the date the topic was first started? I'm not sure.

Thanks. I just don't understand how having 40 posts will suddenly make me a non-fraudulent seller. I think the length of membership should have more weight, not "hey, nice car man, can't wait to do that on mine" posts.
-
I could've sworn I wrote "silly" not "stupid". But I stand by my statement. I'm sure there's a good reason for it but I'm not allowed to post fluff to boost my post count so I guess I'll go another year without being able to sell items on HybridZ.

Ah. Ok. Thanks. That said, that's a pretty stupid rule. I don't have a lot of questions to ask, and I'm not knowledgeable enough to answer many questions, why do I need to fluff my post count just to sell a 20 dollar item in the classifieds section? Afraid of a member who's been here for well over a year suddenly spamming the classifieds section?
