  2. does anyone know what years the chevy trucks used hydraulic slave cylinders? currently using a modified datsun one and want to replace it with something unmodified.
  3. cmon dan, you know youd want to take out an s2000, that thing suposed to quarter at 14.5 stock and runs you around 45k, supposed to be 14.5..... i wouldnt throw away good coffee usually, lucky it was only 7-11 style!!!!
  4. i think it means clean. im captain unsano myself, and i dont care.
  5. going to school, i got my coffee and im driving happily along, staring at my guages and taking in the sunset district, and i look in rear view, S2000 is tailgating the crap out of me! he gets next to me and lets me hear vtec, i get on it a little to stay up, im in 4th doing 45 at 1800rpm, and i couldnt drop a gear to blow him away cause i had my coffee in my other hand, so i hang with him up to the light, take a big chug and throw the coffee away and get ready to knock this s2000 out the box. no contest, what you thought it was? floored it from idle and 5k rowed right on by him by more than a few carlengths, man i shouldnt have thrown my coffee away, but you know, two hands on the wheel two hands on the wheel.

    What muff!?!?!?

i run one super turbo with two inlets, back pressure city, i dont even care, the quietness is beautiful, i think if i were to do it again with a pumped up motor i would just go dual super turbo, man they are peace.
  7. heck no, dont race it, youll start breaking all kinds of stuff, and who knows where, if you cant get to it now dont race at all. simplest thing is to get down there and see what it is, if its the diff mount its fairly cheap and easy to do, and then you can really go all out if you want.

    Pinion Snubber

should be ok. i went cheapo and replaced the strap with a nylon strap used for carrying stuff on top of your car, thickest and shortest i could find with a rachet, put it where the strap used to be drilled a whole through both sides, and put a poly bumpstop in the center, shimmed it a little on every side the bolt went thru, and snugged it up. then i put the diff back in, and racheted it until it was preloaded nice enough, and prompty reconnected my driveline and went out and drove carefully for a few days straight, looked back up in there, and we good. the solid method with the bumpstop should work great as well, it does not have to be super crazy thick, but it would be nice, the bumpstop allows diff some play, making it so nice and quiet back there now compared to my old solid x member job, much nicer.
  9. dont worry about, probably just me, havent gotten around to putting a nice tight gasket where the tranny shifter is and im missing the panel that goes over the evaporation tank, checked my driveline and all recent work on the car, looks good, ill be keeping my ears open though.

yeah who needs the packing? oh youll love it youll be so loud!
  11. your regular driving habits should be fine if you never see past 4k, i mean block, short block, head should be fine, a nice cleaning and polishing couldnt hurt though. oh you never know how long it will be, doesnt sound like it will anytime soon, these things happen, which cylinders were low? synth wont hurt either? are you burning oil, check that first before you make up your mind on that. do you have oil coming out by the 3rd or 4th cylinder, its common in L motors, thats the only oil passageway from block to head if i remember straightly. i drove an L car with lower compression than that on two cylinders for six months and counting, the guy i sold it to got a ticket for parking in a yellow zone and it came to my house, not the best way to tell me the car still runs good. my guess is that if you keep up with the maintenance and not beat your car, it will last quite a while, people treat their cars much worse and it seems like they are doing just fine right?
  12. i think its the fuel pump, check to see if its the stock 280z pump, i know tpi hits redline early, but man my 305 tpi motor doesnt fall on its face until 4500.
  13. eh, odds are youre car will run a good long time, heavier oil cant hurt. save up your money that 900.00 can get you a good motor, or at least a fresh block, keep up the maintenance, and i wouldnt recommend high rpm stuff for prolonged periods of time.
  14. hes right, at the same time i reduced sway bar tension, i did all the rear bushings.
  15. hey wondering which studs i could use, just seems that the nissan long studs are really expensive, buddies tell me that 240sx wheel studs work and they are longer? need to use a baby spacer to make these new negative offset rims fit, any helps appreciated, thanx a bunch.
  16. i was hanging out with Battle Swing drift club guys, they all drive those rwd corollas gts model, the "hachi-roku" , these guys are great, they go and drift ridiculously out on the backroads and the roadtracks, i mean crazy like video style driftaholics. anyways, these guys are pretty cool and were always talking about the older cars and stuff, and i go to look under one of their cars, and it was a solid axle underneath, hmmm, "dont these cars usually have a irs in them" answer no, only the supra, rx7, zcar, and 240sx have irs. they explained to me that the ideal setup in the cars that drift on video for money is to use the 240sx rear end. i started laughing outloud, they run a r200 for drifto, but i think they use a posi with it, small world dontyathink??

    What muff!?!?!?

dollar for dollar the straight pipe into a cherry bomb glasspack will flow the best, they are 20.00 at any auto store, and they usually have them in stock, this is also the loudest you can get, you will drown out any honda and almost any car except a v8 with the same combo. i promise.
  18. whoops, could not have been an 810, too big, it was more like a 1200 or so, very small car not boxy like 510 at all. what year did the 810 start, looks like a cool project.
  19. hey i know that bologne one too! cut it into the "batman" sign, that really makes you smile.
  20. my neighor when i was really young like 12, has the ugliest car in the world i thought, very loud car and my dad would always go over to his house and they would work on this car my dad laughs at me now because i have the same car now, it was a primered 810 with a 350/four speed combo that used to blast at wot with glasspacks up and down my block everytime after he worked on it, vroooom up the block, burn all kinds of rubber and looked like complete crap!!!! this was in the late eighties, and i guess people didnt fuss like they do now about noise, i can remember my dad instigating the guy to "light em up"
  21. anymore info on using stock 77 ecu with the turbo dizzy and afm? very interested, this summer i hope to have my next project running, a 2##z with an l28e turbo, my first efi car ever.
