  1. Flares were a seperate piece so you would have to cut them off or you could just cut the whole fender off.
  2. I have some spare door hinges and I have heard of a mod you can do to them with some volkswagen brass bushings I believe, If you guys want them...
  3. It looks like the same thing I did some more research and its a Early Duett but I can't figure out the B10 on the grill or the 218 on the fender, The possibly could have been swapped from something else. I'm guessing this specific one is rare because it isn't the 445 or 544 Duett but a 210 or 218 or something. More researching for me. Edit: I think the b10 is the name of the engine, Not entirely sure, Not a lot of info on the net about these old volvos.
  4. Depending on the size of the dent, I don't think that would work, On my last z there were lots of dents large and small and I tried a hammer and even that didn't work. I have heard that you can use dry ice you can youtube it, I heard it works the best on small dents. If you have large dents in your hood you should probably bondo it or put in a sunroof or a ragtop that would be cool. Plus this thread is quite old, in case you guy's didn't notice that.
  5. If your talking about the one in the red dress her name is Erica ocampo
  6. I was walking down the street because my DD broke down again for the second time in a few weeks. Anyways as I was walking I spotted an old volvo in a Alley, I have seen old volvos similar but nothing like this wagon. I was wondering if any old volvo buffs could identify it. It said b10 on the grill and 218 on the fender. Another thing I got a kick out of was the speedometer went up to 120. Also if it helps identify it the speedometer was one of the older style flat ones not a circle. Here is the pic I got of it.
  7. Make sure you have your connections to your hazards and blinkers on the right components. Also my blinkers have been doing the same thing so the relay may need to be replaced.
  8. I would suggest downloading the FSM for your year of 240z. It should help you out with the wiring. http://xenons30.com/reference.html
  9. The one in the ad is either a 240z or a 260z neither of which were offered in the ZAPP trim. They only made about a 1000 1977 ZAPP Datsuns.
  10. Your probably running rich, Download the FSM search on here and you will find one. Also search these kind of things have been covered on the L28 many many times. Good luck.
  11. It was a factory trim run hence the ZAPP, sort of like the Black pearl or the Anniversary Zx's they only made a few thousand I doubt you could ever find a decal but I'm sure you could remake one somehow. Plus I think those rims make the ZAPP paint job look great, wheels definitaly can make or break a car. Do you have any plans to repaint the one fender and redo the decal or just repaint the whole thing?
  12. I believe they did make some 280zx's or 300zx's with 4 wheel steering it was called HICAS, Also when I first looked at the pictures I thought it wasn't so bad but then I saw the pictures of the other side, Ouch. Well I guess what that guy got what was coming to him. At least nobody got seriously injured.
  13. My parents let me buy my own car when I was 14, I always loved cars and wanted my own I saw a 75' 280z 2+2 for $350 and bought it, almost 4 years later and I'm on my second 2+2 (sold the first, Couldn't fix it and to much rust) and I'm still working on getting it on the road plus I'm not looking forward to having to drive it with the automatic for a while, but my parents decided it would be best if I bought it myself and did it myself (I grew up around mechanics and knew my way around cars) I would respect it more and take more care of it. Hopefully I will have it done this spring or summer so I can finally drive it. I remember the first time I drove my 75 with the automatic, all I noticed was that it drove smooth and I liked the feel of the suspension, I didn't want to chance driving any faster though it had sat for 9 years haha.
  14. I bet they are some kind of 4 bolt Aftermarket mustang rim. They look like some mustang style rims I have seen before. But otherwise I have no idea what brand they could be.
  15. I remember seeing somewhere about an electric fold out plate, I don't have it but I thought it was pretty cool, So it could be hidden at car shows or during a photoshoot etc. and put down when driving. Here is a video of one in action.
  16. He posted the pictures in a different thread. I doubt it has anything to do with him not wanting to be proud if he posted them already. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/95070-hood-art-done-on-the-z/page__pid__894651#entry894651 Search before you jump to conclusions.
  17. Now when you finish up the car and take it to car shows or a local z guy's see's it they are going to come up to you and ask "where did you get that custom airdam?" , Looks nice can't wait to see the finished product. Do you have plans to lower the car, if you are how much?
  18. I agree that body kit is decent and isn't to crazy like some others out their and I personally like the wheel color choice it goes nicely with the silver and the blue tint of the headlights. Just because its a honda doesn't mean it is a ricer, My family has owned its fair share of different types of hondas, in fact we have only had two cars that have reached top speed on the speedometer a 1983 Honda Civic Hatchback and a 1967 Ford LTD.
  19. Today I have been working on finishing up the Distributor upgrade and I need to pick up a alternator tomorrow and grab some 1/2 inch fuel line for the tank to the pump so I can see if this sucker starts.
  20. Everyone was just looking for your best interest such as giving their opinions on better options for suspension and engines. No one is afraid of hard work and their are lots of members who have done some awesome stuff but you also shouldn't have to do more work needed when there are methods already out there that can be equal or greater then some new ideas. If you really don't care then why did you say "I would appreciate any input" Don't ask if you don't want a reply that may be constructive criticism. In before the shed, also you can edit your own post if you feel necessary to erase what you said.
  21. If you didn't want constructive answers why did you post the question? I'm sure Jc was trying to say that the 240z can handle the power and with less modification or basically You don't have to go all out to achieve what you want. Also the suspension may be to wide for the underbody of the Z which would require a lot more modification then just added flares, whenever trying to graft suspension designed for another car onto a different frame you most likely will end up with a lot of modification depending on the suspension and frame. Why not go with the s13 suspension swap? its been done, its modern and has its pros and cons also. I can see where you might be wanting to try something new and thats fine.
  22. He means he converted his points system to electric distributors, Search E12-80 or distributor swap that should give you a start.
  23. Maybe some CF fender mirrors or normal style mirrors, Nice thing about mirrors is you wouldn't have to sell them only to Z guys.
  24. I have done it on a 75 280z and I removed both the A/C and the heater, and you have to take the dash off to get everything out. You can take off the fan without taking off the dash. Sorry for the bad news, Its not as bad as it seems taking the dash out, the trouble is putting it back in and connecting the hard to get to wires. Good luck.
  25. Looks like you cut the end off a 50 gallon barrel and welded it to your exhaust.
