The S30 2+2 has way more room in the back with the seats folded down, I would have thought it would be the other way but My 2+2 has tons of room. Perfect for long trips and traveling.

This is my 91' Dodge Colt Vista that I DD and I also use it to pick up parts sometimes. It has 4WD, a 5 speed that with only 4 gears that work, and probably about 60 hp . It seats 7 but I never seat that many because it would never get up the hills around here, but folding down all the seats makes enough room for lots of parts and yes those are my datsun rims It's currently out of commission with a spark issue, Its been giving me lots of heck lately, We may just sell it and buy a truck.

The fuel damper's original purpose was to smooth out the fluctations of pressure coming from the fuel pump for a smoother flow of gas. All you need to do is replace the hose and eliminate the fuel damper. Many people have run the car without it and its not a big issue not using it.

Thats literally what my girlfriend is doing she is going to a college and taking college classes but she receives dual credits for the course so she gets high school credits and college credits for pretty much free. She is taking some pretty hard classes and is almost constantly busy with basketball and school.

how many guys still have several local car buddies
19762802+2 replied to grumpyvette's topic in Non Tech Board
I know exactly how you feel,I'm 17 also and I have moved a lot and really didn't have a chance to make many friends anyways but there is no one my age interested in cars like I am that at least knows what they are doing, most of the Z guys or car guys I know are older then me by ten or twenty years. It sucks sometimes, but I get along pretty well, I'm even more then a car guy then my dad is and he used to be pretty into cars but not to the extent that I am now. Hopefully with this new job I got today at Discount tire (woot!) will help expose me to some more car guys at my level of understanding and determination, Though there is one ricer kid that works there with a "decked out" honda -
Sounds like luck is in your favor, if you could get pics of the damage that would be helpful for some of the Z buff's to determine if its fixable. Also look for rust in every place possible underneath the car mostly under the carpet etc etc. Everything else you can always fix for not to much money but rust and bodywork is usually where it takes the most time and money. Good luck if you do get it, it will be an awesome deal.

I don't know if your asking me but if you are I'm thinking more of a deep forest green like the Bullit mustang with satin black ZG flares and other satin black accents.

I remember watching a show one time and in the show it talked about how one way to prevent more accidents is to not let 15-16 year olds get their license, Their argument was that some parts of their brain that helped in decision making and other driving tasks aren't fully developed until later like 17 or 18. I agree that it shouldn't be more expensive I just think it should be harder. I just got my license this summer and haven't even got pulled over or even a fender bender. My dad still has his permit test (he's 51) and I was suprised how much more they had to do to pass. All I did was drive around a few blocks use turn signals and make a full stop a few times. I didn't even have to parallel park which even I thought was strange. I like the colorado rules where if you want your permit at 15 you have to take drivers ed and cruisers and then you can get your license when your 16 or you can just wait till your 16 get your permit drive for a full year and do 50 hours day 10 hours night and then you can go apply for your license when your 17. Also you have to wait 6 months to be able to drive one person other then your family and a whole year before you can carry multiple passengers. Also just recently texting while driving was made illegal and you can only call while driving if your over 18 in colorado. I'm pretty happy with the colorado laws about driving especially the no texting or calling for anyone under 18.

That will look awesome I plan on going a dark metallic green also, I have a few paint colors I'm thinking about.

Well I can help you with the first picture, Those are for the thermotime switch and water temperature sensor. Their should be a little harness that connects to those bullit connectors and has the bosch style connectors on the other end.

My speedometer stopped working!
19762802+2 replied to Elemeno's topic in Trouble Shooting / General Engine
Well in that case my information might be worthless haha I have no idea if the 280zx is the same as earlier Z's when it comes to speedometer cables. -
Did you bleed the clutch? I'm sure if he said it needs to be done, it needs to be done.
-
Thats a great idea about the rear view mirror mount, I'm going to have to try that out since I have two spares haha. Nice video though, Come to colorado we have better roads with sharper curves anyways Your Z looks nice though I like the green.

You also need to get a fuel pressure gauge and figure out if you have too much pressure or not enough, If you do some searching you can find the correct fuel pressure, I'm guessing you have SU's. If you have just an electric pump you may be pumping to much fuel from what it sounds like your describing, but you might not have enough either. Determining your fuel pressure will help out a lot.

I read in one of the weatherstripping threads and I thought I saw a post about someone trying some kia sportage weatherstip on a 2+2 in the junkyard and it was short by a few inches. I will go search now to make sure I remember right. I found the post, It was even by you hoov100. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/83080-new-weatherstrip-alternative/page__view__findpost__p__817955

You might want to try with BlackDragonauto but if they don't have it I don't know where else you would be able to find a kit. You may be able to find all the pieces you need seperately but good luck, I haven't found anything and I plan on scouring the junkards to find weatherstipping from some other car that will work for the doors on a 2+2.

ModernS30's 1972 Datsun 240z

Also I still have that brand new fuel injection relay if your still interested also I agree with leon Just go over the FSM like three times and figure it out this way first, You will gain some knowledge and it could help you in the end by giving you some experience and give you some time to save up for the megasquirt. Maybe someone can help you out Have you replaced the Injectors? sometimes they can be stuck when you buy them new, Have you checked the Fuel Injection resistor under the driver inspection cowl? I'm pretty sure they play a part in the pulsing of the injectors If you need those I have two pairs I could give to you cheap. Also the FSM will help you out on everything that could be associated with the ECU, Make sure you have power going to the ECU also. -
My parents only bought from a dealership once and it was a bad experience, My family has always had good luck with buying cars at smaller car businesses but make sure the guy is trustworthy and is known well locally. We just bought a 2003 ford focus ZX3 from a small car lot it had 70,xxx miles and we traded in a van we had and got it for 3500 and its a great car. Just wait for a good deal and you will be fine and don't let emotions over a car determine the car you buy. Good luck.

My speedometer stopped working!

When you have the time just go through the whole thing, some of the pictures will be helpful but otherwise just take some time to understand it I usually read through it every once in a while, I learn new things and it has helped me plenty of times. -

Check the connection of the speedometer cable into the back of the speedometer and also check the connection to the transmission. Do some searching about it and you should find some more details you should also down the FSM from xenons30.com or xenons130.com depending on which vehicle you have. -
I was 14 when I bought my first 280z for $350, almost 4 years later and I sold that one bought a second one and it still isn't done hopefully this spring or summer I will have it at least driving, I have put a few thousand into already and all I have to show for it is updated suspension and some other small stuff and it doesn't even run yet. My advice is go with want you want be be prepared to have a lot of down time with a Z and spend a lot of money on it. If you go with the Z wait to find the perfect one with low to no rust it saves a lot of time and money also get one that is road worthy and running so you can have some fun before you dive into it. Also get a job before you buy a Z and save up some money, I wish I would have had a job sooner so I could get this thing finished instead of it teasing me on the jackstands. Good luck I'm sure you will make the decision that will work out best for you.

Anyone into Old Volvos? Interested in Identifying one.
19762802+2 replied to 19762802+2's topic in Non Tech Board
Wow thats cool to know thanks Zgeezer, I love the look of the old volvos, My dad has owned a few 80's 240Dl's but older volvo's seem to be plentiful around here, There are a few P1800's and one just down the street. That's surprising that it got such great gas mileage for an old design they look heavy but I guess not. I guess I just have a soft spot for wagons haha.
