  1. Well in that case me thinks you have a vacuum problem somewhere. There should be a hardline from the intake manifold to the transmission that might be disconnected at the intake manifold. It could be the Vacuum modulator here is what a Vacuum Modulator does. It is located on the left side of the Auto trans on a Z. "The Vacuum Modulator monitors engine vacuum by a rubber vacuum hose which is connected to the engine. Engine vacuum reacts very accurately to engine load with high vacuum produced when the engine is under light load and diminishing down to zero vacuum when the engine is under a heavy load. The modulator is attached to the outside of the transmission case and has a shaft which passes through the case and attaches to the throttle valve in the valve body. When an engine is under a light load or no load, high vacuum acts on the modulator which moves the throttle valve in one direction to allow the transmission to shift early and soft. As the engine load increases, vacuum is diminished which moves the valve in the other direction causing the transmission to shift later and more firmly."
  2. If you read the links in the thread I already posted this would answer your questions.
  3. Search and ye shall find... http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/54128-l28et-in-a-240sx/page__p__488691__hl__L28%20in%20s13__fromsearch__1entry488691 It has been done with a l28 and l28 turbo, if your going to do it why spend tons of money on making a powerful l26 when instead you could get a l28 or some other engine. Not trying to down your idea because if you really want to do it go ahead just saying there are better ways. But everyone is unique and if your doing it just because it is available that is fine also.
  4. I think the satin black paint looks awesome, Good find and good luck with it.
  5. I have no idea what those rims are but that front end is just....
  6. Send out the safety car for the safety car. I knew this would end up on hybridz eventually.
  7. I know this isn't about a Z or a car but it does have a huge V8 anyways I saw this today and thought it was pretty cool, Here is the movie and article. Oh yeah it reaches 200mph but the speedo goes to 260. http://editorial.autos.msn.com/blogs/autosblogpost.aspx?post=1757667&_blg=4
  8. You attach plastic plates over those to hide wiring and hold down carpet.
  9. I say go with the same offset as the Rota group buy, its proven it fits and then there isn't a huge dispute on offset. But good luck finding 25 people this would be awesome. I'm sure there are some other car forums that would be really interested in this like the 240sx guys and etc.
  10. I usually don't like wire rims but that looks really good on that roadster Z.
  11. Haha I was waiting for it then it popped out of no where at me. Very funny haha.
  12. The 75 Temperature switch wasn't on the side of the thermostat like that. For 75 it was in the front like the one in makinit76's picture, I think you have a Thermostat housing from another year depending on how many bolts are holding on the thermostat cover. If its three bolts holding the thermostat cover down its from a ZX I believe.
  13. [quote name='kamikaZeS30' date='19 May 2010 - 05:25 PM' timestamp='1274311541' post='869576' Dealer option hitch? That might be another way to go. I'm wondering which S30 bodies that would fit. I forgot to mention the car is a series one, '71 s30. It doesn't have some of the neat things like reinforced bumper mounts that the 74+ had. Yeah it was either a Dealer option or some aftermarket thing because it definitely didn't look home made. It was on my 280z, There are two bolt holes next to each rear bumper bracket and one two almost 90 degree bends bolted on to that. A long flat bar was bolted to those two 90 degree bends and then bolted to the bottom of the Rear bumper. This picture is the only one I ever took of the hitch on the rear bumper when I first bought the car. You can't really see it because it was all tucked underneath pretty nicely.
  14. The PO of one of my 2+2's had the dealer option tow bar hooked up, I wish I had kept it and sold it to someone on here, I may have pictures of it but idk. Anyways he pulled stuff with the stock engine and Auto trans, I checked the fluid in it at one point and it was just fine. I'm not sure what he pulled but it held up well. The dealer option tow bar bolted in near the bumper brackets and also into the rear bumper I believe. I will search for some pictures.
  15. When he has to start getting rid of his stuff like they do on the show I call dibs on a motor.
  16. My family and I were browsing around for homes for rent etc. in Colorado springs when we saw this "thing". At first I thought it was an El Camino on a lift and what not, so we followed it. Once we got closer we noticed it was a Cadillac/El Camino Hybrid. Me and my dad were trying to decide if it was an El Camino with a Cadillac grafted on or if it was a Cadillac hacked up into a El Camino. Oh it was for sale too.
  17. I guess your right, I didn't think it through very well, I Edited it though.
  18. more like refreshed intake with injector wires hanging out and a K&N filter add throttle response and performance. Oh yeah can't forget the return fuel line blocked off with a bolt. I think it looks alright its a little too much with the multiple hood vents. Those rims don't look like they are 18" they look more like 17" to me.
  19. Isn't there a sticky in the brake section with all the available aftermarket and stock(from other cars) brake upgrades? Just search I'm sure you will find it has been talked about before.
  20. My dad used to drink Orange juice when he was first trying to stop smoking, It supposedly helps to elimante the nicotine from the body because it is slightly acidic? Anyways it worked pretty good for my dad. He has had his relapses every once in a while but its mostly because of stress and when something changes he will go back to smoking to help unstress but then we have to go through withdrawals all over again. Good luck with quitting smoking.
  21. Oh, I didn't realize you had a three piece spoiler. In that case I would just leave it white the MSA spoilers look nice in black since they are defined from the body. I would say black hood and ZG flares and leave the spoiler white? but idk how that would look. I'm sure you could find a photoshop guru on here that would help you out by doing some stuff with a photo of your car. Never hurts to try it out first then actually do it and not like it.
