  1. Did you find out from the previous owner if the car was running before in its current state? That would have answered your computer issue and a lot of other questions. The reason they would swap different heads on could be for lots of reasons such as different CRs. I think you should do some searching about Turbo engines most of what you want to know has been covered.
  2. The N42 head didn't come on the 83 so that has been swapped and most likely someone swapped a turbo engine into your car. the stamping on the block to tell if it is a N42 or F54 is near the left engine mount. I'm also confused why your so interested if it has been swapped, is there some reason?
  3. Don't know if you saw this yet they were posted a few hours ago but they are 16x7 Rotas with slicks. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/91420-rota-rb-16x7-with-hoosier- slicks/page__pid__865319__st__0entry865319
  4. You could always try driving backwards, Joking aside maybe you could get a flight there check it out and rent a truck to drive it back or maybe have a hybridz member go check it out and take pictures for you and then have it shipped?
  5. I'm pretty sure the 280z has a tranny "bump" on the transmission tunnel and the 240z doesn't so I don't think the 240z vinyl would work.
  6. Do you have any friends that have a Pick up with a hitch? Thats what I did when I needed to tow my Z.
  7. Man I got to have my car running in august so I can do this with my girlfriend haha, funny thing is she would love it she is the dangerous crazy girl that loves roller coasters and walking down the middle of the street because it bugs me.
  8. Just hook up a speaker and alarm inside the car and disguise it as a fuel cut off switch so when they turn it on it turns on the alarm and you have to turn it off with a switch that is hidden elsewhere. just have it recorded as your voice screaming at them to get the F*** out of your car and such. It would be hard to try and steal a car with some really loud screaming going on inside the car, plus it would be funny haha.
  9. You could always get something like this if you don't have a electric fuel pump and hide it in the engine bay or something. There is a member here that shaved his door handles and door locks so just search for that and you will find stuff about it. There are also electric lock kits which you can buy at black dragon auto and some other places. http://www.amazon.com/Conbraco-Industries-Inc-7843810-SHUT-OFF/dp/B002IV4O38
  10. take some pictures of what happened, Take some with the wheel on then take some with the wheel off and of underneath the car. If your rear wheel is bent inwards like you say it is there might be some suspension damage or worse frame damage. You may be lucky and the tire may just be bent, but I have a feeling its most likely your frame and suspension.
  11. I think everything you have in your list sounds pretty good to me. Maybe remove the tow hooks but have them hidden in the car for emergencies if you really want to go that far.
  12. I think most of the time they were painted the same color as the car from factory but most people repainted them a different color. What I did for mine is I took them off sanded them a bit and painted the plastic part flat black and painted the chrome parts flat white, IMO it looks pretty nice.
  13. Awesome, Some other member is doing the mustang tailight swap from a newer mustang and it looks a lot like your rear end. But Personally I think the sketch looks sweet.
  14. I think if you did a wide body kit like the Jim cook racing one, you could modify it just a bit to have sort of a door scoop if you still really want too.
  15. I think one way to keep it looking decent is to make everything small. By doing this it will keep it less busy and won't make the car look smaller then it is, by having them smaller it will be more subtle less people will notice the similarities and will make it seem less cluttered.
  16. You might want to talk to this guy he is the guy to talk too. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/user/40-zr8ed/ Or check this out. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?showtopic=73970
  17. The tachs in Z's aren't always accurate so that may be something to think about also.
  18. Rusty/stuck bolts that won't budge and then break, Previous owners who hacked/slashed/or jerry rigged something. Bad wiring that is near impossible to figure out. Rust in general and hard to find parts are also something that bug me and happen often with a 2+2.
  19. Just a question but how do you plan on changing the fuses if they go bad? will you be able to access them from the front or left side? Otherwise everything else looks really clean and nice!
  20. Why just not use JB weld? I don't know if that would work but its a thought.
  21. I have to agree it is a bit busy but if you want to do it and have the funds go for it and make sure you take lots of pictures!
  22. Are you talking about the Morris Minor estate wagon that was in the pictures?
  23. I don't like the door scoop but some jim cook racing rear flares would give you a scoop by the door and look awesome. Otherwise I like it and think it looks nice, is the front airdam supposed to be like the "Eleanor" mustang? EDIT: I just noticed the whole theme is towards the Eleanor mustang with the rear window and door scoop.
  24. Man I feel dumb. besides it would probably be heck to tune.
