  1. What about a VW Golf or a Ford Fusion? jk I'd skip the Civic. My friend is a mechanic at a Honda dealership and he said lately (the past year or so) a lot of the newer Civics have been coming in for various things/problems. Out of your choices I'd probably go with the 09' Mazda3 hatch. The 09' looks a lot better than the 10' (if that matters to you). When my wife and I were looking for a CX-9 we were leaning towards the 09' since it didn't have the big "happy" grill...the happy grill later grew on us and went with the 10'...as for the 10' Mazda3, I don't think that bumper grill would ever grow on me.
  2. Thanks Rhys! I appreciate you checking into it in NZ. Due to the exchange rate and the shipping cost, I may be better off going through specialty shops in the US. Hopefully someone from Australia can chime in with pricing, but I'm guessing it'll be similar pricewise. There was a group buy a few years ago where people were getting all parts for under $400 shipped, but the exchange rate was a little better then and I didn't get an Accord until recently Currently, EDO performance ($485 + shipping...they did the group buy a few years ago) and JZs International ($437 + $75 shipping) are the lowest I can find, but I'll continue searching to see if I can get them cheaper elsewhere. Thanks again for checking Rhys.
  3. Thanks, I would appreciate it! Also, I accidently left off “Accord†in my original post, so I went ahead and updated it.
  4. Hi All, Just wanted to check if any Aussie or New Zealand members are able to source new Honda OEM parts. I wanted to go with the Australian Accord/New Zealand Accord V6 lower trunk lid/lighting (Accord Inspire in Japan) on my daily driver like below as it gives it a better look: Here are the part numbers: Trunk Lid Lower Garnish 74895-TA1-J11ZC Left and Right Reflectors 34150-TA0-P01 34155-TA0-P01 Here's another pic of just the parts: If you can help me out, please let me know. Regards, Eric
  5. Have you looked into theTechno Toy Tuning setup? It'll allow you to use the diff, axles, hubs, calipers and e-brake from the donor Nissan car (240SXs, Skylines, Q45, Z32 NA, or Z32TT). Since you're thinking of going the R230 route, the Z32TT hubs are stronger (31 spline) than the 280Z stub axles (only 27 spline). You can source them at the junkyard for pretty cheap, and the Q45 shares the same hub as the Z32TT, making it even easier to get replacements. No need to get stronger stub axles or CV adapters like in the other kits. The rear CV axles are also the same between the Q45 and Z32TT where only the length of the center axles may differ slightly...this doesn't matter as TTT has replacement centers in the correct length for the Zs. You send them your pair of axles and they take them apart and install the new centers. Where are you located? I have an R230 and some other parts if you're interested.
  6. Because he wanted the 4.11 ratio (which he already had), and the later STIs diffs only have 3.54 and 3.9 with Torsens (US spec models anyway...not sure what they came with in other markets).
  7. 4 pinion http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/52125-2005-subaru-sti-lsd/page__view__findpost__p__650801
  8. You should state what LSD type and what ratio you're looking for. CLSD came in the 04'-06' STI R180s Torsens came in the 07'-08' STI R180s (probably 09' and up also, but I can't confirm) 3.9 ratio came in 04', 05', 08'(probably 09' and up also, but I can't confirm) 3.54 ratio came in 06' - 07'
  9. Hi John. Can you do something like what member Nizzan did to his outer CV housings? If so, please let me know. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/73182-subaru-sti-r180-differential-and-axle-conversion-revised/page__p__696189__fromsearch__1entry696189
  10. I hear ya. Here’s a link to a Q45 brake upgrade (using OEM Z32 brakes). May not fully answer your question though: http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/z32-brake-upgrade-installation-on-a-q45.html The TTT route is the better way to go IMO. Some have had issues with the MMS route where they required machined end stops to prevent the center shafts from coming through. Also, the Z32TT and Q45 hubs have a higher spline count (31 or 32 spline…I forget) than the 280Z stub axle (27 spline), and are available at the junkyard (where billet 280Z stub axles are $695 at MMS which are still 27 spline). I also like the ability to use the Z32TT/Q45 e-brake function too.
  11. Z32TT and Q45 hubs/spline count are the same. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/56140-new-cv-joint-diff-conversion-brake-swap-in-the-works/page__view__findpost__p__590040
  12. Is yours 3.7? He states he's looking for a 3.54.
  13. Check out this for sale thread. He's parting out a RHD S130. He's got the emblems and is looking to get them reproduced. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/88664-rhd-280zx-coupe-parting-out/
  14. Looks like someone is looking to sell something soon...40 post count here he comes!
  15. Racking up the post count I take it? Same "good info" or "nice" posts on a lot of threads.
  16. Actually, the 2008 STI R180 is a 3.9 with Torsen LSD (09' and up may also, but I can't confirm). I believe the late 1st gen STIs from Japan (98', 99' or so) had a 4.4 R180 (not sure what LSD type, if any, it came with).
  17. If you checked different yards, you may have been able to find the whole diff for the same price or less...2007 STI R180 has the Torsen and is 3.54, and the 2008 STI R180 has it with 3.9.
  18. Check this thread out: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=119012 Some are getting 16"x8" all around with +10 offset, and running a small spacer in the front...that way you can still rotate the tires. What pricing are they giving you?
  19. They can, but they need to provide proof to the CC company (emails, etc)...the CC company then does a chargeback to Paypal.
  20. You haven't mentioned wheel specs (size, width, offset) or the type of Z it's going on (S30, S130, Z31, Z32, Z33), so it'll be hard for someone to tell you if they fit without having that info.
  21. I forgot to include what the 2006 STI came with...I updated my post:
  22. haha just leave the WRX out to make it shorter
  23. Just remember ratios and LSD type differ depending on the year (which may affect pricing): 3.9 ratio: 2004, 2005, 2008 3.54 ratio: 2006, 2007 CLSD: 2004, 2005, 2006 Torsen LSD: 2007, 2008 I'm not sure what came in 2009 and 2010 STIs (that's why I didn't list them above).
