Check out my cardomain in my signiture. Has alot of pics of my car there...
I was running a oem nissan 280zx clutch... The clutch im about to purchase is the act xtreme clutch kit...
The engine....
The car currently has a bad clutch that is slipping very bad. made 200 whp on the dyno... should make upwards 300 whp with a new clutch. Complete haltech platinum sport 2000 fully sequential fuel injection and ignition management system.
I also have 2-step/launch control on it( builds 3 psi, so its a mild launch control but gets the turbo spinning). Sounds really good! I plan to take video of me using the launch control as I have never seen launch control used on a l28et...
This is all on stock suspension and brakes... Suspension and brakes are the next phase..
Yeah man lesnar is one tough dude to survive a corwin barrage, but he did, once he did i knew he was going to win. Corwin usually knocks guys out! For lesnar to put up with all that... all i gotta say is i dont wanna ever have to fight him...
The extreme Pressure plate is what causes the pedal stiffness but yeah. You said its alright to drive downtown? Hmmm.
They say it should hold 490 wheel torque so...
Well my tuner recommended me to "get a street performance full face clutch disc with a high sprung pressure plate" for a daily driver, Hence me looking at the xtreme pressure plate with the street performance clutch disc. But I wonder how much 74% is over the stock feel...
Well as some of you may know my clutch is slipping.
The clutch I am looking at is the ACT Xtreme Clutch kit rated at 490 wheel torque with a street performance full clutch disc.
I plan on daily driving this car but want this clutch to hold some power.
IS the clutch pedal all that stiff with the "xtreme" pressure plate?
they say the clamp force increase is 74% over stock.
That is accually too much
If you use a CLSD R200 you can use stock 280z half shafts w/ ujoints. no motorsports adapters needed, this prob being cheapest route.
If you have a VLSD 300zx SS R200 you HAVE to use the CV shafts and the adapter.
This is my problem right now... They had my car on the dyno, they only gave me whp figures but Im at 200 wheel on the stock clutch slipping bad. They said i could push upwards 300 if i had a decent clutch.
$800! Wow, just the rear end is worth that.
But please remember.
the 88 300zx ss had VLSD R200's which require the use of the whole diff and cv shafts. To use the cv shafts you must purchase this adapter http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=32_53&products_id=56
Anyways good luck. If it were me i would look for a 87-89 turbo with the clsd as you can use the stock 280z halfshafts with it. It would be alot cheaper.
87-89 300zx turbos had the r200 lsd.
Take the diff out of one of those, clip in 280z half shafts, change the driveshaft end to a 280z r200 and use a 280z r200 mustach bar and your good to go.
White looks good on luxury vehicles, I just dont think they look good on sports cars.
but 400k in cars? What a waste, so much nicer choices could be selected. And no if i saw one on the road i wouldnt be looking trying to take pictures.
you will never be able to make your l28 sound like a civic... a muffler might highten the pitch alittle but in thw end, the l28's sound is far too deep.
