  1. If you think the condensor is bad shouldn't you be able to run without it? Well, the condenser had a wire ripped off. I was running without it. The wire got super hot and started smoking. It's a noise suppression device, I think it's a cap right? Not sure? Are you running a ballast resistor? Is your coil for a ballast ignition? It has the resistor, that is the one that was getting super hot. Do you think I should bypass this? If you have spark but no fuel check to see if your injectors have 12v and that the ECU has power when the key is on and cranking. Also check to see if the ECU is properly grounded. There's a wire that runs along the top of the firewall that has 3 blue and 1 black wire, that is the injector and ECU ground. I believe that is grounded but I will double check. The injectors have power, remember L-jetronic fires off the grounds. So I am assuming it is a grounding issue somewhere. Just having no pulse I was wondering if it could have been something else.

  3. Phar, I am fairly certain that registry is wrong. Number 13 is yellow. Nissan sport issue 13.
  4. I am positive that my issue has something to do with the condenser. The blue wire goes to - and the white/black to the positive? The wire that the condenser goes in also smokes. I am pretty sure something is way fubar. The only modification I have is a Blaster 2 coil, the old coil had gone bad. The injectors are replacement units, supposed to be stock. I tried your tapping thing, It doesn't do anything. I tried to grounded to the freaking - battery terminal and everything.
  5. Ok, Tony, upon trying to ground it out. I could not even get a spark off the negative coil post. When I tried this I noticed smoke coming from the ignition resistor on the coil bracket. Upon further inspection that larger of the 2 resistors in there was glowing red not.
  6. I am confused by what you are saying I think. Do you mean to test the injectors I ground the negative of the coil 3 times and the injectors should click?
  7. If you don't have an injector pulse, do you have a spark pulse? Yes, I have spark. Mmmmm, "Long Pig Roasting" quipped our guide as we trekked the Kokoda Trail. We looked forward to supping on this mythical creature we had heard so much about. Wew turned the corner and were confronted by tribesmen all holding spears and... What? What I had read in a previous thread I can not find anymore is that the condenser somehow controlled the pulse of the injectors? I am fairly certain with what you have told me this is not true. I was aware that the oil pressure switch would kill the fuel pump. The pump is running. I have fuel pressure, I have spark, I do not have injectors opening. Somewhere I am losing the signal. The injectors fire off the ground, I know this. The car will fire off starter fluid. I have visual and the noise from a spark arc with the wire off the plug and arcing to the chassis of the car. I have fuel pressure in the fuel rail. The only thing absent to my car running is the injectors opening.
  8. While you have a valid point I think a large issue is the fact that many of the new comers are young. Maybe I am incorrect, but typically the lack of spelling and proper grammar is coming from a younger generation. I understand your point but I think we need to guide them better in the form. I do see the difficulties in doing this. Maybe not all of them. All I am trying to get at is, we can't just say. Well, you didn't even bother to search, your stupid.
  9. Hey guys, I have noticed when many new members come in we are not welcoming enough. Many new members need some guidance. Some may not get the idea, but instead of being so cocky the first time a person posts something we should be more guiding. I think many of us have lost sight of why we are here. This is about being car people, specifically z people here. Many of us are just car people in general that own or have owned a z. All of us are on a different level. Some may need more guidance and help than others. I feel that we push people away more than we should. Instead of just telling somebody how stupid they are, or making some smart ass comment we can most definitely be more helpful. Obviously the internet is serious business and needs to be treated as such. I mean, I am wondering if maybe some of us need to lighten up a bit. Seriously though. I don't know if I am the only one who notices this or not. I think it is actually hurting the site, we may push away valuable members. Either way, if a member is here learning, if they are supporting the site, if they are contributing valuable information, every member is here with one general purpose. Just some things to think about. Kinser
  10. Personally think this is the wrong approach. Your pushing away, I am not saying give hand outs, but try guide more than shove. This is why hybridz is starting to become less of a good site. Members are way to cocky about everything. You guys need to remember that we are all car people of a form or another. Some are at different levels than other. We are all here for the same cause. Lets try to help each other more than hurt each other.
  11. Do not buy it. You clearly have not done enough research and you will end up with a car in horrible shape that you will be unhappy with. You need to take some time and research about a car before you buy it. This is especially true when you are talking about cars as old as these. I am saying this because 240z's were not made in 1977. If you had done any research, this would be easily apparent. It has to be a 280z if that is the correct year. A VQ35 swap is a very in detail and VERY difficult engine swap to overcome. There is more involved than just some mounts and a quick wire job. The control system is much more complicated than that. On a further note, I am not try to push you away or be rude in any way. Could you please take the time to use some proper grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation. Your text is very hard to read and understand. It is almost as if a 10 year old has written the, uh, paragraph, above. Again, I am not trying to be rude, just and observation, I have a feeling you are not very old, probably around the same age as myself (17). Take some time to read the information around the site. Stickies and the search function are your friend.

  13. Ok guys, I don't know why, I fail at finding anything on this. I found something a long time ago and I can't find it anymore. I have a Condenser that was damaged during my engine transfer. It has 2 wires, in and out, goes the the distributor from the body harness. Now, I remember reading that is sets the pulse for the injectors. This may or may not be true but I am not getting injector pulse. I have been going through things and it could possibly be this condenser. I would get a picture but I don't actually know where the thing went. If anybody knows what I am talking about or has any information that would be fantastic. Its on a 1977 280z.
  14. They are 86.00mm. Look at the box. Says it on the side. Just stock L28 pistons with rings. Great for a freshen though.
  15. Sounds about right, its there so you know that you aren't in trouble. Its a good reminder to keep yourself in line as well. Don't worry about it unless its starts filling up. In which case you will most likely be getting a message from an Admin/Mod telling you why it is.
  16. Well. Rattle can doesn't always have to look like crap. Here is what a little time and some tricks will do. No wet sand. After a clear coat and wet sand it could look fantastic.

  24. Dude. Ron already deleted one of your posts so I demand a picture of you, with verification (hybridz.org cleve or something). That way we can see the numbers. Ok, you probably don't have to get that extensive. Now can we please just see a scan of the dyno chart.
  25. If I were you I would cut a larger chunk of that spare well out. There is still cancer rust on there, no way of stopping it without cutting all of it off. Personally I would go with flat sheet. Have a radiator shop boil out the gas tanks and coat it.
