  1. Was just checking out the pictures on the first page of the thread. They look fantastic. Floors are way better fabrication work than the previous owner of my car did. I have a feeling I am going to end up re doing them sometime down the road. Love the fuel cell cage as well. I think I am going to have to just cut all the factory sheet metal out of mine and lay a flat new piece in like you did. Kinser
  2. Didn't I try to help you with this? My brackets actually do fit the 240sx calipers with the zx rotors. The diagram you had already is the measurements you need. Your obstacle is going to be paying somebody to do all the programing (this is quite expensive). Then actually pay for materials and machine work. While finding a machinist that will do just one part for you. I am making a few changes to the design of mine. Then I will get a pricing layout for the number of brackets made how much a set will cost. If you would be interested let me know. If you need some pictures on the car, let me know. I will take some. I think you got the idea that I was just being an ass when you kept asking questions. It really had seemed you were asking the same question phrased a little different. Feel free to PM me and I am willing to talk on the phone about dimensions and how I did it. If you really want to make your own, I have no problem with it. I will figure out what it will take to get my brackets to a lower cost than the ones Modern Motorsports sells. I seriously was just opening up options to get these parts from somewhere else. Kinser
  3. I agree with most everything said here! I really think there would be a market for one part carbon fenders with matching air dam and a real carbon hood and real carbon hatch. If you can match with full real carbon doors, or even glass ones, like Mack is supposed to be making. I think you could shave so much weight it is unreal.
  4. Ok, I still do not know the ohms, but it seems if I use a more modern coil then I should be able to just bypass the resistor, it is actually called the ballast resistor. Kinser
  5. Ok guys, it seems like super low so I must be wrong on something. In the FSM for a 77 there is a little chart. It says: External resistor at 20C (68F) Ohm..............................1.15 to 1.45 (Standard resistor 0.4 + 0.9) Now, what I was getting from this, is that the little coil was a 0.4 ohm resistor, and the larger one was a 0.9 ohm resistor. The problem I am having is, there is for sure not any resistor that small I can find. Maybe somebody can point out what I am doing wrong here? I must be looking at something wrong. I will try to scan the page or something. It is on page EE-39 if the 280z Datsun FSM. Now, if the resistor is that small, does anybody know where I can get one? EDIT: Also, maybe somebody knows what Watt the resistor is supposed to be? Boy is this getting to be more difficult than it should. If I can figure these things out then I will just do it myself. I would much rather replace it with modern items than the same old used one that is just going to quit on me again. Thanks again, Kinser
  6. Hey guys, I recently 'let the smoke out' of the ignition resistor on my 240z trying to get it running. It started, it has a full 1977 280z EFI, ignition, and body harness. All the wiring is from the 280z. I had the car running and then when I finished running my fuel system I tried to start it. To my avail there goes the ignition resistor, smoking! Well, I pulled it off, I was just going to buy one from somebody, but it should be a simple fix, just buy the proper ohm resistors and screw them down like factory. Basically I am wondering what ohms these resistors are, or maybe somebody knows where I can find out. I figure it will allow me to go a little more modern compared to from the 70's as well as keeping cost very low, resistors are pretty cheap from radio shack or anywhere really so it should only be a couple dollar fix. Any help is greatly appreciated as I couldn't find squat when I searched. Maybe this could help somebody else in the future? Thanks a bunch Kinser
  7. I am not going to go really far into it. Sent them a letter requesting my money back and for what reasons. I still wont shop with them and advise you don't. I just don't like corporations taking over everything like they seem to be doing.
  8. I was going to say, wouldn't you want it farther away from the helmet? I cage should always be properly padded, but if you hit your helmet on it its still going to hurt.
  9. Oh the trial continues. After I returned the part and wasn't given a full refund (into my pay pal account). I went ahead and sent them an email explaining that I was told I would be given a full refund including shipping and part cost. I had already called once when I found out shipping was going to take longer than I paid for shipping to take. Well, I didn't get a response to my email. I went ahead and called them again. Only to be told this time, a different answer, that my money would not be refunded and it wasn't going to happen. Well, I got some legal advise and called again. We talked about how phone conversations are recorded. He told me to refer to the site, when I asked for a written copy of their return policy be physically mailed to me. I requested caller names and times and date of previous callers. He told me only one was on record, not the first caller that told me my shipping would be refunded. I also asked for an address to request these recorded phone calls. I was told he didn't know how to answer that question. When I asked to speak to somebody higher than him that may be able to, he told me to hold on. I was put on hold for about 2 minutes, where he claims to have talked to his manage. Who told him that it will not be at all possible to get the tapes to me. Although they are recording my voice, and it is a evidence in my claim against them, these tapes will be requested through corporate. I continued to ask for an address where I can send my civil complaint to and was given the address for corporate. He informed me that he was going to request a refund that corporate would have to approve and I would be getting a call in one or two days. I am no waiting, without my full refund, still advising that nobody deal with this company. I think they have gone about a very bad way of handling a customer. A businesses sole base should be around its customer. Without the loyal and happy customer, a business is nothing. If your customers are happy, typically this translate to happy employee's and visa versa. A nice customer that is happy treats and employee well and the employee is happy. As well as keeping your employee's happy makes them work more efficiently and faster. Which in return, makes a customer happy. This business obviously does not understand this very basic concept, and I refuse to deal with it.
  10. Haha, thanks anyways man! I am sure somebody has one. Kinser
  11. I am interested in a kit for a 240z depending on price above asked questions. Kinser
  12. Hey guys, I am not 100% sure what it is call. I think it is the ignition resistor. Wires up to the Coil and everything. I think it is the reason why I lost spark, being it was smoking...
  13. I agree. The heater really isn't enough weight, if you aren't full out race car, then you may as well keep it. A/C you can do without by rolling windows down. Heat is something nice to have.
  14. Just noticed this. Is the car supposed to have slicks on it? LOL
  15. Pretty sure that car is going to need a bit of work to make it look good inside. Get to ripping it all out! Outside looks clean, good starting point to swap flatty over to!
  16. Disk brake conversion brackets. Hopefully to be produced for a group buy if I get enough people on board.
  17. I would really advise not using wheel spacers. Maybe you can find some different wheels that will clear the brakes? I am not sure what you are working with here as far as class regulations.
  18. hey can i still get in on those brackets?

  19. haha, yes Mat, got it. I got my line from Earls.
  20. Ok guys, I ordered a part for my car online. It was on Wednesday night, clutch slave cylinder line. I went ahead and paid the extra money, so I could have it in time to get my car driving on Monday, I paid for 2 day shipping. I figured, Wednesday night, on Thursday they would get the order and mail it. Part will go out, get it on Saturday. Apparently their idea of 2 day shipping is 9/7/10. TUESDAY! I find it Bull S**T and they will be getting an earful from me later on today on the phone. I will be returning the part as soon as I get it and expecting a FULL refund, including the extra I spent on the shipping. I am sourcing the part elseware (Car Quest0. I will never deal with Advance Auto again, and advice everybody else to the the same (you guys).
  21. Your in Illinois, that applies around this side of the country. He is in Texas, I would bet its not to bad.
  22. Get over it you closet red neck. I killed the Taco thread. My bad! Now stop crying!
  23. Ok, I am currently working out shipping so that the products are safe and don't get damaged. Larger vinyls are a bit harder than those smaller ones. I think we know how it is going to be mailed. Its not just figuring out how much and if there is a way to do it flat rate to make this much easier!
