That's what I was going to say, the car sat in water like that. It's gonna be rusty on the inside first and work its way out. get the carpet up a little if the owner will let you and look into the holes on the inside of the rockers. Flash lights in the fender areas. Stuff I wished I had done! It will most likely be an electrical nightmare.

I have started patching but I am going to look at a 240z that has 350 engine mounts, trans cross member, drive shaft, and Headers included. Looking at it tuesday, no engine or trans. I don't think I would be going the V8 route so I might buy the car if its in alright condition and part out the V8 parts and use my l28. If I do that then I will most likely try to sell the 280z as is with buys knowledge or rust or fix it as a shell and sell it. Don't think I could afford 2 Z cars. I guess we will see. Don't really have the money for the 240z but I am close to the asking price. Maybe he will lower. Then if I get the V8 parts with it I will have enough money to buy a few things to get it all going. It's got an air dam and 3 piece spoiler already.

I said plenty good. I didn't see anything wrong with asking him not to say hack. I didn't mean to offend him I just don't think the word hack is a very good word. I don't want to be on anybodies bad side. The way he replied to that is looking down on me. I am no better or worse than anybody else. I try not to look down on others (I kinda just did in the last post so I will say sorry about that) I would prefer nobody looks down on me.

Well my drivers side area for the seat belt is completely rusted out. I have a feeling they leak from either the quarter windows or door seals into there.

The passenger side? Cause I am familiar with the mess on the drivers side with the intake and all. I don't have a clue what the line is for but I have a feeling it doesn't matter. If nothing has changed then it probably doesn't.

No idea, is there a different clutch feel? I didn't even know there was such a line. EDIT: Glad I don't have A/C looks like a cluttered wreak.

Welding is expensive, sounds reasonable to me. If it is SCCA/IMSA approved for sure. I bet you will be amazed at how it changes the way the car handles too. Sounds like you've got a plan, I wish you luck to keeping your door panels!

Never done it before but maybe some light hammering with it laying on a flat surface? Buy a new one?

Most door bars are tight. Sitting in my Z I am already basically on the door and I am small. I don't think having door panels is an option if you have a cage. I wouldn't bother so I could tuck them tight to the door.

I have school and work and I am actually on spring break right now taking time off work to visit my mom. I didn't see my schedule yet but if I don't work Friday I have plans to have patches in by then.

Why? I just want to have a word with him. Not going to go off on him or anything. I want to explain to him that he sold me a car that was dangerous. If I was to get in an accident I would have died cause the car would have folded up like a tin can. I am a little upset and I feel I need to express this to him. Justin got 100 dollars back after a sour purchase of a car and contacting the PO. I feel it may help, not saying you might not be right, looking for your in site.

Kinda, the guy isn't available on weekends. I need to make it down, see my thread about Zee Works Auto Enterprises up in MO. Over 200 Z cars and 2 warehouses full of parts I found up there.

Most dryers are steel. Hell the top part off the washer had a the beginning of a hole in it from rust. I just tossed that, its my dads old washer and dryer though. They were pretty crapped out so they are being reused. Honestly, call it a bad idea or ghetto or whatever. I really think its a fantastic idea, it is reducing waste and its saving me $$. The more of that I can save the more of it I can use for other things on the car. That hole is after I went at it for like a good few hours cutting out and stuff. I am going to be calling the PO sometime soon because we need to have a word.

Ok guys, here comes and update. I got lots of stuff cut off. I have a shop I can work in just right now its got my dads sprint car in the way so I am waiting till I can get over there. As far as right now this is all being done in my dads driveway so I cannot do to much at once. I got the battery box cut out. The firewall cut pretty much as far over as I am going to if I can. I still need to cut the upper part of the firewall so I can patch the entire thing. In the pictures you can see where I need to patch the rocker area on the outside and it will also need patching on the inside there. Also I learned the fender was welded to the car. One part I only took a picture after I cut it but you can see how I carefully cut the weld so I did not cause any damage to the body. The fenders are patched horribly so I am probably going to get new ones. I am hoping to get glass ones or carbon fiber if anybody ever makes some. If not I will just go with metal. My new metal! Now this is budgeting and recycling all at the same time! I am so greet.
