  1. I have seen this car on YouTube I remember those 260z taillights, I'm not a fan of them on the ZX but it's just a small touch I actually like it a lot and I'm not a fan of 2+2's this is nice.
  2. Dang can't believe he's selling that beauty seen some of his build over at Ratsun forum.
  3. I always wondered about those VQ30DETs seen then for sale before pretty decent price how much hp from factory? I'm sure nothing is interchangeable from VQ35 to VQ30 right?
  4. I used to have an 81 280zx turbo parts car with they same paint and the hood emblem was silver but the 280zx turbo emblems on the fenders were gold as well as the rear emblems.
  5. Good thing it was done to a 2+2.
  6. Not the first time I've seen an inline 6 in a roadster but first time one with a 2jz that's gonna be a beast.
  7. Here's a 280ZXR for sale There's a funny part in the beginning of the ad. http://redding.craigslist.org/cto/3729493395.html - This guy went from $22000 for his 80 280zx AE to $10000. http://redding.craigslist.org/cto/3758000175.html
  8. This are the Dapper Lighting 5''3/4 prototype projectors on the 810 lows & highs.
  9. I'm selling that spoiler if your interested $570 plus shipping!
  10. Lol good eye, I was taking some pics of the spoiler I haven't put it up for sale on HybridZ yet but it is for sale.
  11. Washed her today thought I'd snap some quick pics, excuse the fugly cars around the 810
  12. Yep that's a T-5 if you can get the driveshaft even better If not custom will have to get made as mentioned above. I had a 280zx with a full turbo drivetrain swap I loved it but what killed it for me was the T-5. $500 is a damn good price!
  13. Not much this car has the ball steering so the steering box is in the way. I had the same problem when I swapped in the L28ET in my Z I had to cut a little off the turbo wastegate to fit.
  14. I'm still sticking to the stock engine at the moment I can't make a change right off the bat as it's gonna take time when I can get funds going.
  15. Wasn't that 510 with the L28ET in Reno, Nevada area seen one for sale on CL like a month and half ago. @BluDestiny you better get one it seems after the 510 was featured in the Jay Leno Garage Show on YouTube prices have been soaring get on Ratsun.net there's a few for sale.
  16. I believe so I saw a guy change his intake manifold, AFM and ECU from from a 79-80 280zx on his 77 810 wagon and worked just fine. The L24E in the 810 & the Maxima are front sump the oil feel line is also in a different position as well as the oil dipstick. Something a machine shop should be able to do.
  17. Nothing wrong in changing a few things around it will still be true to what it is because I'm not changing anything body wise. If I had the funds I would have certain cars to have fun but like I said the 810 replaced the 280zx turbo to have room the for the family. The wagon maybe ugly to some that aren't into them which doesn't concern me but slow it is not it gets up there pretty quick for being a heavier car.
  18. I like to give it a chance the engine hasn't shown any problems that would suggest I swap it out. I don't know the limit of the L24E computer unlike the L28E. Would you know why the early 810's had 154hp instead of the later models 125hp that's 29hp difference.
  19. Definitely the L28 is a top choice if my mechanic friend still has my old L28 i left him I would gladly pick it up and build it up and when the time comes I could swap in. I want to give the L24E a chance pretty much anything I do to the L24E can be transferred to the L28 in the future.
  20. Then you have people that post these kind of ads on CL. http://bend.craigslist.org/cto/3713433259.html
  21. That would be a ton of fun as I had a T3/TO4E in my 280zx I sold it was lots of fun and it was running on stock boost and no intercooler. I've seen that a member that had that black 82 maxima with the L28ET swap had a top mount intercooler probably not the best way since it was getting all that engine heat.
  22. You know it might fit maybe even with small modification it's very possible. I heard people fitting Datsun Maxima sway bars onto the 810's because they thicker and bolt right in. Also read that a 280zx rack & pinion is very possible swap. As for a L28ET swap it would very possible I would do it but it's in the least of my options. Fitting a decent intercooler would be a problem for me if I ever wanted to go beyond stock power on the L28ET. Maybe a small water-cooled intercooler and turbo would be a better function.
  23. Trust me I've done a lot of reading been in this forum for years that's how I learned to navigate. The only thing I haven't really seen much is L24E anything just a few builds and a L24ET built. No offense taken but I sold 280zx Turbo to buy this 810 took many years of waiting and being patient and I'm not about to sell it to buy another Z. I could tell you to sell your Z to buy a better car but who am I to tell you so, thats why they make different cars to suit difference in opinion and needs. I bought the wagon to make more room for my family as the Z was only a 2 seater and don't have taste for the 2+2 models. I'm a huge Datsun enthusiast not just strictly Z cars, in the future would most probably be buying a S30 or a 510 but keeping the 810 as long as I can. My plan is to still keep this a cruiser but make it a little funner to drive.
  24. I have 3 big shop manuals and 1 original manual strickly for this car. I been reading it on my spare time and getting to know everything about the 810.
  25. Thanks for all the great points, I will utilize them and rearrange my goals and set my sight on realisic mods. I like to plan out a few choices some of course will rule out because either it's unrealistic and I'll never do it or money wise. Getting rid of the efi is one of my main concerns I'm not big on electrical but this is something i want to do and get a megasquirt or some type of fuel management system. Far as the head work that will be a challenge for me but with the tools in hand and time to do it I would gladly step to the plate. Looks do have some part into my plans but I also want something that works not just looking pretty and doing nothing. I did mention the exhaust just because the stock one is pretty old and rotted looking. My last car was a 280zx I guess I in used to the sound it used to make when I had the original L28 with exhaust.
