  1. Mine has the Z31 set up and right now it has a lot of hesitation burns a lot of fuel it eats up almost 6 gallons in a 70 mile round trip.
  2. I've got a 1981 280zx L28ET 5 speed T-5, T3/TO4E Turbo with 3.90 gears and 1st gear is also useless should have kept my N/A 5 speed with 3.54.
  3. For the mileage I would totally go for it as long as theres nothing major. I don't think that guy knows what he has or he would want double if not triple for that ZX.

  5. Hey guys been looking for a decent 77-80 810 wagon and I want to trade my 81 280zx Turbo slicktop for one. My family is more important right now and I really dont want to throw anymore money in the Z at the moment since a bigger car would be best and rather trade and still keep a Datsun in the family. I'd rather see the Z go to someone that would appreciate these cars as much as I do. I been searching for a while now and seen a lot of 810's for sale on CL but all were too far from me. I live in Medford, Oregon (Southern Oregon) about an 1.5hrs away from california. Would like to find something close to me. Some info on my Z: Right now it starts and runs, just got the P90A-H head rebuilt, It now has solid lifters, both the head, engine block and T-5 transmission are from a 83 280zxt parts car i bought 3 years ago. The O2 sensor isn't hooked up I was running the Z31 O2 and the adaptor nut fell off. It's running pig rich, the day I had the engine freshly swapped ran very well and then something went wrong and little by little it got worse. The compression is great, the car will drive anywhere but it consumes a lot of gas. The engine is stock beside turbo, Z31 set up. I'm not a mechanic and I lack in it but had friends help me out but haven't had any luck on figuring out the problem. Z31 set up (ECU & MAF) AiResearch T3/TO4E Turbo (no shaft play) Steeda Short Shifter (Aftermarket Mustang shifter) Stock exhaust with 3" Megan muffler HID lights Aftermarket headlights Headlight covers JVC stereo 16" Ultra Wheels I also have a authentic 81 280zx turbo shell parts car had the stock exhaust in much better condition than mine. Has Rack & Pinion the seats are still pretty good shape dash was already messed with. Still has the R200 3.54 rear end but has no brakes previous owner took them. My Z isn't perfect in anyway, it has a front end damage on the bottom of the core support, rust on the obvious parts like battery tray, driver front fender, rust ate threw the floor where the spare wheel is, rust on the roof line and rear hatch door.. A few dings but body is mostly straight paint is still there and not pealing off. The hood is painted primer black, Air dam is broken so I'll be taking it off. Front bumper won't fit as the core support is bent and the shocks don't align. The parts car is pretty straight beside a rear end passenger side damage other than that it's great for parts for the running Z. Like I said I want to trade for a 810 wagon 77-80 Any question I'd be glad to answer at the best of my abilities. Z parts car
  6. Those are 280zx headlight buckets with clear covers, I know because I own a pair.
  7. I used the Steeda throw short shifter thing works great for me.
  8. Try looking at all connections cleaning or changing battery terminals could help, clean up the ECU connection those are known to get corrostion as well as the harness. Mine is doing similar symptoms but mine is a total different problem. Putting new gas is always the first thing you wanna do especially If the car has been sitting for some time. That Lucas octane booster is good stuff I'm not s big fan of octane booster but that's the only one I'd buy.

  11. Yeah the nice thing is that's it's the same color as mine this car will replace a few rust spots that i have on my Z.

  13. Yeah im pretty sure it is, this is local to me he has posted his stuff before don't know if anyone would just hand over someone $25k just for an engine and parts but it is legitimate.

  15. I have the same problem once in a while for some reason mine likes the cold morning that's when it runs the best does yours do that?
  16. I saw this set up on a 280zx at a local Z car show on Saturday they look awesome.
  17. I hope im not thread jacking but I have the same damn problem, mine has 87 Z31 ECU & MAF the funny thing though it use to run really good before but after my head needed work it ran like crap. After the rebuild of the head it runs a little better when the car is cold, once it's warm is stummbles and it feels like It has loss of power. Don't know If your car does the same?
