Have you checked your exhaust/manifold gasket?

Never knew there was an exact copy good to know, is it made from the same material? I just want to know what the ZXR spoiler are going for now days? Tony you know anything about this says it's 1981 280ZX-R?

The one I bought cost almost $400 with the shipping and it's in mint condition like out of the box new. I have seen some back then go for $1000 and up but only a handful of people would buy them I guess. The replica ones aren't the exact copy but somewhat similar.

Threw out the years I've seen the 280ZXR spoilers go for some good money in really good condition by itself bad condition a few hundred bucks. I know Nissan sold them individually back then to the public with shocks to replace the stock ones for the added weight. It's been a long time since I've seen one for sale even online. I own one myself in new condition but what are these spoilers worth in reality now that I have seen some rare Datsun/Nissan parts sale for quite a bit.

Not to thread jack but mine does the exact same thing the only difference mine is running Z31 ECU & MAF. I don't know if you have took your spark plugs out and seen what they look like? I took mine out and they were crusty coal black.

Unless you have plenty of money to throw at it i would advise against it but it can be done with a lot of time and patience. A question why that engine you do know its a pretty wide engine expensive on maintenance there great engines why not go with a VG30ET the ones out of the Z31 300zx its been swapped in a 280zx before and make great power. Another thing is why not just swap in a L28ET or simply turbocharge your L28 all you need is L28ET wiring harness, ECU, Turbo, Turbo exhaust Manifold, Intake Manifold, 280zx turbo injectors, put a 3" mandrel bend exhaust and enjoy.

Will be putting the Z For sale here as soon as i can find my original pink slip if not ill be getting a new one at DMV.

I never doubted the capabilities of what a L28 can do, but with old videos I have seen of this car in the past years on YouTube every old video had RB26 on the description could it of been wrong? Most certainly! I just went with what I have seen in the past but didn't mind reading the description in this video. Like I said on YT thanks for the correction. Now that I looked at the website that's the same engine I have saved on my computer.

Sorry I took so long, so here are the pictures. Here's the 2 side pieces of the spoiler that attach to side of the car. This the left spoiler piece. Here's the right side spoiler piece. And finally the middle spoiler piece.

I'm going to take it off and I'll snap some pics.

Hey man I got that same 3 piece wing on a parts car I got I only managed to take the sides off still need to take off the single middle piece. One of the side pieces has small piece that broke off I believe from the accident that it had before I got it but still has have it attached but comes off easily. Let me know if your interested I can take more pictures and I'll figure a way to take off the middle piece it's glued on so I gotta be careful. I was thinking somewhere $180.

with this write up it should be pretty easy to change on mine.

Heck yeah thanks for the write up I also have a 81 280zx with an L28ET swap and that damn box gets in the way of the turbo and had to cut a piece off to fit propertly. The good thing is I got another 81 280zx but it's the Turbo model so it has the rack & pinion I believe they were manual R&P? You don't got any pictures of the process?

Definitely hit up Ratsun.net that's the main forum I'm on I would just go to the wanted section for cars and put what your looking for, might even find someone selling a project. V8 swaps on 510's are a bit of a squeeze and require a lot of work but If your into that why not! I would suggest a VG30ET swap, CA18, SR20, KA24E, KA24DE, there all pretty well documented.

I got this off my parts car I thought it was kind of neat, I was thinking of getting another one made like this to put some square 6x9 subwoofers I saw that were pretty good. Already have replaced the stock speakers with some pioneers they sound better but just need a new stereo mines kinda outdated.

The last thing I have done to the Z was added a painted hood from my parts car.

I will neg myself for asking those type of dumb questions in the past I'm just glad I know a lot more now because of this forum I can see it does get annoying to answer the same questions over and over and admins always have delete the post or put it in its proper place. All I will say is that as long as this forum is up it will keep happening, i'm also on another forum like community.ratsun.net and I see far worse spam, people trying to bring up political, life issues etc. There has been a rise of spam post that have nothing to do with the site just scam artist doing there regular scams tricks.

I just hope any Datsun was hurt in the storm, sucks to see that happen but at least it was just the glass.

Yep true here in Medford, Oregon i never had to do any emission testing or been pulled over randomly only if you drive like a total arse other than that hardly ever heard of any street racing problems.

Oh man that seriously sucks hope you find it fast without any damage.
