  1. Very true, I love driving most of the cars in that game I was stoked when I saw the Mitsubishi Starion a car I used to have sounds just like it too. The Z432 is one of my favorite in the game as well as the 510 the 72 GTR is dope, I really like the sound of a fully tuned Z432 orgasm to my ears!
  2. If you go to Ratsun.net there are members there that have done VG30DETT swaps into 510's and other datsuns.
  3. I know I was wondering why they took off 2 engine swaps on the Z432 I actually liked having the VQ set as well as the SR20 I hope they fix it. I guess since you can make headlight decals now since it covers them when you put the airdam on.
  4. I'm into the drifting, the Z432 sounds as real as it can get for the S20 fully built is really fast at least faster than in forza 3. I also have a datsun 510 with a VQ35 swap fast as hell all motor.
  5. Hey do any of your guys play Forza for 360 i got the new Forza 4 yesterday and it a hell of a game to play if any of you wanna play online my gamertag is MIQUIZTLI187
  6. I am now running a P79 head in my L28ET just finished it lastnight, I would really recommend asking Skib for advice since he was the one that helped me. All I need is a new CHTS, and valve adjustments and I'm good to go but it starts a lot better than my last set up. I'll post up some pics.
  7. I'm only telling you what I have read because I used to have a L28E in my 280zx, especially because the L28E can be prone to detonation if you don't have the proper set up. Installing some dome pistons or the dish pistons off an L28ET would solve your problem but I'm sure someone here is running a similar set as the one you want to run. The exhaust liners on the P79 most probably won't fall off, but if you try to grind them off be careful not to damage the head it is a risky move. BRAAP I believe is his screen name is running a P79 head in his turbo set up so far nothing wrong has happen. The exhaust liners actually help burn off any carbon it will probably help with the a turbo set up. I would run an Intercooler as I will in the future so you should be fine unless of course you wanna give it a try to get those liners off.
  8. There's a guy here that's running a P79 on his L28ET. I'm actually gonna be running a P79 on my L28ET because I got coolant in my engine and my P90A was bad the P79 is fine for boost. Try to see if you can source a L28ET block but If you really want run a turbo set up on that motor you got I wouldn't go more than stock boost.
  9. OMG!!! i think i just jizzed my pants. Excuse my rudeness but you sir are a bad ass, i hope your project goes well I'm very sure everyone here is going to want to see this monster getting put together. You guys do awesome work on any car you touch i had called your shop before about the VQ35 swap for a 280zx but i think this RB might have won me over again please keep us updated.
  10. Thats pretty bad ass, I've seen that 140mph speedo in theZstore from what I was told from a guy here locally that has one in his ZX there still selling those even though they say there discontinued on the website.
  11. Lol, that's probably why you don't see it done much.
  12. Never seen this done before a 280zx with 280z tail lights. It's a screen shot from my iPhone from a YouTube video.
  13. Coming home from work as I turned a wide corner I noticed my oil meter went all the way down and it even marked a red light then the oil meter came back to normal as I got off the corner. After I put Z in reverse to park it, it started smoking a crap load of white smoke and it even sounded different as I press on the acclerater. I thought my turbo went out but I was still making boost and the white smelled sweet so coolant went in somewhere. I'm fricken lost but one of the members (Skib) will be checking it out.
  14. My 81 ZXT was an N/A and still has the power steering box had to make a tiny cut on the plate that holds the wastegate.
  15. Mine broke on my old 83 ZXT a week after I bought it, good thing it was a donor car.
  16. So i just happen to have found this video that was posted 2 days ago of the VQ35 powered ZX.
  17. Thought this was bad ass and had to show for those of us that don't get to see even rarely hear these LY's run!
  18. Oh yeah! Just imagine the feel of the power when you hit the gas, they look super fast in a S30 body even stock. I think I'm still gonna go for this swap for sure, Z-Fever also did a SR20 swap into a 280zx it's on there website looks a little odd but if it works why not!
  19. So i talked to Doug from Z-Fever, he was nice enough to e-mail me pictures of the current 280zx there working on with a VQ35 swap. He said it took about a year in a half to figure it all out and now offers a kit to put it all in yourself. You would have to send in your ECU & Harness and that's about $950 alone, Drive shaft is $450, i forgot how much the mounts were but in total is around $2K plus. I'm sure some of you know Z-Fever there located in Florida they've done about 50 VQ swaps into S14's, S13's, 510's, S30's etc... there drift car is a S14 with a G37 front end conversion VQ35 swap twin turbo. Here are some pictures of the 280zx there working on now:
  20. Try downloading a new browser like Google Chrome.
  21. The diff's should be the same size, other than one being R180 and the other R200 all you have to do is look under the car. Don't know about the auto & manual driveshafts being longer or shorter than eachother.
  22. Oh ok, thanks for the tip I'm sure I will probably have to take the whole engine apart anyway just to make sure everything is ok. This will be my first experience in the VQ engines so I will be doing a lot more research.
  23. I was told no more than 50k, Tuesday I pick up the rest of the stuff the guy will pull up all the history on the motor. Yeah I think I will do that some aftermarket stuff to it for sure don't really want to turbo it or supercharge it at the moment. Maybe some ITB's would be awesome! I hope so too, if that's the case I can always sell it for more than what I bought it for and look for another one. I will be taking it apart tomorrow or sometime this week to see what I'm up against.
