  1. I just wanted to know if the 2mm pin height different would have the pistons flush with the deck.
  2. So to get the pistons flush with the deck, should i get pistons with a 2mm shorter pin height? Also if im using an e88 will i still need a 2mm headgasket?

  6. Hey tony, remember that other thread "can i keep it", and z31p said they chambers look like the had sigh grooves. This is the same head. I was resurfacing the valve seats seems the first one i did was good, but continuing on 2 seats in a row were grinding unevenly only catching a portion of the seat even tried different cutting chips. Seems most of the seats were dropped too far in. The exhaust ports are next and probably well get some valve seats but for now it will sit. Ill take pics pater today. When you said this: "Seriously, why did they feel the need to stake the seats in that fashion? Not enough heat on the head and no N2 to shrink the seats on installation---so they figure "punching them will tighten 'em up good 'nuff!"
  7. just street driving and weekend free spirit driving pretty much. I was just wondering if the cast pistons were up to the challenge of everyday driving.
  8. i guess ill update this thread, seems the head needs work in the combustion chambers.
  9. For a stroker build with LD28,L24 rods, and KA24 pistons. Do the pistons have to be forged(since rods/crank are from factory)for an n/a build, can you use stock some type replacement pistons even though they may be cast type? Its obvious the stroker build is expensive so i was just curious to see if anyone has done so with close to oem parts.
  10. ^ thanks after tearing it down it looks helluva alot like the p90 bout a day or 2 ago, i stuck in the pistons and there exactly the same.

  13. are there any differences between the two? I just got an e31 block and i have a p30 block cleaned and completely dissasembled. I have a rebuild kit ready for either motor. So i would just like to get alittle more familar with the e31 block and see what i can get out of it.
  14. Aren't the p90 valves to short to use on a E88 head?
  15. Just as the title says looking for triple mikunis,webers,dellortos,sk's, solex,etc for my l24, but setup for different motors are fine. I get payed friday and going to a local swap meet saturday to check if someones letting a set go, so i would like to see my options before choosing. Pm me or post here let me know what you have and how much you your asking for.

  18. I may be in the need of a bare E88 head with valves and cam tower bolts(or with cam towers). I don't need valve springs,retainers,valve seals,guides, cam or cam towers(maybe) just what I need is the cylinder head,valves,and cam tower nothing more. Looking to grab it for dirt cheap, but for now i am testing waters until i can verify the one i have shouldn't be used in my rebuild which should be in the next 2-3 days.

  20. Well i bought an E88 head from a member on the forum, the head has some bowl work done but looks to be unfinished on some of the chambers. Should i get a machine shop to finish whats left, get seats resurfaced and just slap it on, or get rid of it? So far all i know is the bowl is "Singh type combustion chamber" thanks to z31performance members. Wells heres the pics let me know what you guys think and any input is welcome. Im going to a local machine shop and rebello to get some input later in the week, when i get time.
  21. cant get any more specific than that.. The bolts that mate the cam towers to the cylinder head.
  22. what are you looking for as far as trades for the coils? i have a MSA type 2 kit and enkie sawblades 15x7 0offset
