  8. I Figured it may be a good idea to just ASK if anyone has any of these for sale for cheapo in here 1.) rear 240SX brake caliper brackets (prefered MM style or similar) 2.) S/S Brake lines (Stock for front, 240sx/Z style rear) 3.) 1984 300ZX (cross-drilled/slotted/non-slotted) 4 lug Discs (Pair) 4.) Intercooler (Z mountable prefered ) 5.) Manual Boost Controller (up to 15psi max) 6.) Oil Pressure Sensor adapter for running oil lines to turbo 7.) Blow off valve (non-external prefered) 8.) External mounted Waste Gate 9.) Oil Pan With bung tapped for turbo oil lines 10.) Wideband o2 Sensor This list will be updated with time but this is all for my turbo swap, rear brake swap i'm working on but i just need good lightly used parts that people aren't using. i'm working on less than a shoe string budget so this will take a while to amass everything but if you've got stuff send me a quote with shipping included to 87031 i'd like to talk to you! i need other clutch and trans stuff but that stuff usually isn't that cheap to ship unless your in New Mexico anyways thanks again HybridZ'ers! ~J
  9. So I'm looking at a few different clutch options. I'm building a street DD Z, as some of you know i clock ALOT of miles in a day and i usually drive hard (90+ mph most of the way) so i'm weighing my options and i've tried searching for part recommendations for this style clutch and no definates arose. So here i am checkin out between a pair of clutches. I'm workin on a budget, trying to keep under $350 if possible but i don't mind paying a littel more more better product i'm just cheapo as we all know . I'm wanting to Keep it a street style clutch cause it IS a DD so i don't think pucks are for me. I'm wanting to get something nice and responsive but over built for my goals of +250hp +300ft/lbs. I've heard that if you take an N/A engine you can replace the 225mm with a 240mm with no mods and you just put in the matching 240mm clutch and bearings etc. I'm planning on turboing the car so getting the Turbo(240mm) clutch seems to be a logical starting point. So i'm thinkin these 2 model clutches i've run accross. They're more than my $350 price bracket but if they're worth it i'll invest. they are the ACT NX2-HDSS - http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/prod/NX2-HDSS or the ACT NX2-XTSS - http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/prod/NX2-XTSS If anyone knows where to get them cheaper i'd really like to know or if you have a better recommendation i'd really like to hear it guys! anyways thanks! ~J PS: The car its going onto is aaaaaaaaa.... 1977 Datsun 280Z N/A 5-speed(obviously) Stock(mostly) approx 170hp TOPS CURRENTLY Going to Turbo swap once i get all my odds and ends in order She's getting new Illuminas and rear brake swap but other than that she's stock.
  10. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRAAAP!!!! AND MANY MORE ON CHANNEL 4 AND SCOOBY DOO ON CHANNEL 2 AND SEXY CHICKS ON CHANNEL 6 AND FAST 280'S ON CHANNEL......um.... 80??!!! Lol Peace bro! To many more Happy Birthdays ahead! ~J
  11. Yea i really need to invest in an adjustable brake proportion valve before i get everything going and new brake line would probably be smart too.. *Sigh* "Everything seems Tempting but nothing comes for Free," Or rather, super easy lol but its better to do it once the right way than to keep half assing it i think. Its like music, once you know it, you don't need to think about it, but until than its alot of factoring and preporations to make things go just right ~J
  12. thats a Really good idea why didn't i think of that -facepalm- i'll have to get my hands on a kit and check it out. its starting to look like i'm just assembling a massive array of parts and one of these weekends i'm just gonna have a strip-and-swap-athon lol. yea i haven't met many people who still roll on the steelies, i kinda feel special in that one way lol ~J
  13. Yea you def bring up a good point about the balance aspect and me and my other Z friend over here have been talking about this same point, the hows and why's of brake balance and design. I figure stocks in front and S13's in the back should be more than sufficienct with a 15/16 mas cylinder for my DD use. I just need to get some good pads for the front till i can get the money to go Vented! hey Six Shooter did you have to change your rim/wheel to fit the 4x4 non vented set up? I've heard alot of mixed things about this and i have to work on getting everything together in order so i don't work myself into a non runnin corner you know? I've got the 14" steelies with Z covers on them now till i can get my 16x7's. ~J
  14. LOL, this is actually super interesting i can only wonder where this would go.. i was half expecting someone to mention something about making a Z go into space... lol That would be kool but i don't see any practical way it would happen. Tie too bumper to bumper to make the sling shot idea. Use an S130 2+2 on the weighted side and a S30 on the lighter side or something lol. ~J
  15. Ok so with the last payment made now i just gotta hurry up and wait to get the parts and start the clean-up and prep work for install! Pictures coming once progress commences! ~J
  16. Dude that setup is totaly FTW!!! i would love to fab up something like that for a turbo Z! I'd like to learn how to fabricate better than ghetto first but damn thats beautiful! i wonder how that sounds? i wish i got video at work lol ~J
  17. I'm down to getting my Last $25 to The Love of JDM and i get ma new brackets/calipers etc than i can get this crazy train rollin! I'll post pictures when i get everything together. ~J
  18. reading is an acquired skill it seems, you only get it after people on HBZ bitch you out enough! Kinda like spelling which i fail at consistantly but whatever man, you live and learn and than you READ POSTS!! lol ~J
  19. Well i might as well post up my little story sense i'm here. I'm 21 now and we got the S30 when i was about 14. Our Neighbor and his best friend are all into wheeling and dealing with local junkyards and getting crazy good deal on things and they picked up the Z for $3000 in CHERRY condition when i was like 12 so the car was sitting around in the yard for 2 years and he used it for his DD and tore the interior all up, blew up sodas and screwed the roof up and just wrecked it up and than one day he was driving back from Albuquerque and hit a patch of black ice and nearly took a nose dive off a cliff, luckally the guard rail saved him but but that nice signature dent thats in the front drivers side still sits to this day and it was that little incident that starts our story. So our neighbors THEN wife tells him look your gonna kill yourself get rid of that stupid car so he started tellin people he wants $1500 for it and my dad was needing a car something fierce and he had owned a couple S30's before hand and thought well why not stick with what we know so we walked over with $600 in cash and he gave it too us, not running, cause he thought the fuel pump was out. We Pushed it into our yard and put some gas in the tank and fired it up! She was sputtering and than died so when we broke down and looked the old alternator it was barely hanging on and wasn't turning smooth and a few fuseable links were cooked so we soldered up some new wires and bought a new alternator and SHE"S ALIVE!!! The Z itself was a marvel to me when James and Bob showed up with my lil 12 year old brain was like where'd that Supercar come from! It looked just like Eleanor from Gone in 60 Seconds to me without the stripes to me or a car James Bond would drive with the "check seat belt" light and the obsure switches all over the console. I just fell head over heels in love. By this time the fastest car i'd ever seen was my dad's 88 Prelude but this was a completely difference monster! All i could think about was driving the Z with its 5-speed, "BIG" I-6 and monster ROAR (it had no eshaust at this point) I ended up going threw a Subaru Justy, the Prelude, my Zx2, the Mustang, my Mazda and finally as fate would have it when i started my current job i was driving my mom's truck and she cut me off so my dad finally said ok you can have it and i couldn't belive it! I Bought my Z31 300 before this point but that things an auto nightmare not a super fine sexy machine like ma Fairlady! I've in the past 3 years become increasingly more obsessed with the Z and now its a full on part of my Existance! My Z is like a Liver or kidney or some other vital organ i don't know what the hell i'd do without her! Thats my "little" story ~J
  20. I haven't heard of needing to swap the 280Z cable for the 240 but than again i haven't completed this wap myself i'm still waiting to pay off my kits so i can get that shipped out and see what else i'll need. Has anyone else heard of this issue mike brought up about needing to swap cables? ~J
  21. Hell, I'm amused! Its Better than TV man. ~J
