  1. too bad jsr is nationwide... or i'd say we had to have an 'off the jackstands" show somewhere.... road trips anyone? i know at least with my car i have a good year plus to save money.....
  2. and if you saw the pile of parts mine was right now, you'd laugh your ass off.
  3. not really... it's at my father-in-law's house since i don't have a garage. with my asinine work schedule it's a good week when i get a day to work on it. but yeah, you're right... at least i can get to it in a half an hour. it'll get there soon, you'll get that strut thing sorted out.
  4. nah mike.. you're member #2... wear it with pride!!! just remember you'll be driving yours SO much sooner than i will.
  5. man do i have a ways to go.... i'll probably have 6000 posts and a car that still won't move....
  6. to the tune of the wizard of oz..... "we welcome you to jackstand land!!!" and if anyone calls me glinda the good witch i'll..... seriously, i can't wait to see this done!!!! i'd ask you to keep us informed of your progress but i know you will anyway. do you plan on leaving the rotary stock, or are you beefing it up? jsr's membership drive is on and kicking... you too can have that cool thing in your signature!!!
  7. only 89 to go!!!! you could always piss off the mods and post basketball scores one at a time on the non-tech board.....
  8. .....more specifically, st.james st.... a block in from broadway.
  9. WHOA!!!!! i still live in kingston... class of '94. how long have you been living in texas? by the way... the town's most likely pretty much the way you remember it.

    So Zs CAN fly!

BUMMER!!!! very sorry to hear about that... i wish you good luck in reaping the financial aspect, but it sound like you have a road ahead of you in terms of diagnosis and repair. a laser level would help to check the straightness of your frame rails, as well as just checking for evenness in the clearances between body parts. a good, competent body shop would probably give you the best diagnosis. the laser level would also work well for the driveshaft, otherwise check for signs of leakage (park it somewhere clean for a few days.) god, man, that sucks. you're lucky to have come out okay yourself, but i'd be really pissed off if that was my car.
  11. i visited the website... and it all comes clear to me now. i know where silicone boy got his name.
  12. hanns, you car is phenomenal. welcome to the site!!!! seeing artwork like you've performed is a great inspiration to z-car fanatics like myself, just starting out. and i have to second the question... do you drive your car on the street? if so, that much power has to be a nightmare in traffic!!!
  13. my friend, i can't believe it took you a week to find this post. for that matter, anybody.....bob
  14. GREAT IDEA!!!!! i nominate you to be the first. i'll even take that shoddy italian engine off your hands as not to dirty your garage.
  15. you should be a proud man, mike. the boy has taste.
  16. i can't believe i missed it. there's that ticket to hell. http://www.whitehouse.org/news/2003/102703.asp read and repent.
  17. man, they'll make anything inflatable anymore....
  18. tim... let me be the first to say that you have a fantastic set of in-laws!!! hell, i should've married your wife.... weighing in on the other issue, i think the true difference lies in humanity of intent. where someone like fawkes, che guevara, even the very founders of america itself operate(d) under the theory of rising up against unjust conditions and improving the lives of at least a few, those like hitler, osama, saddam, and others at their core are self-serving sociopaths with little or no regard for the human condition as a whole, and absolutely no belief in the value of human life. i think there's a very fine line between revolutionary and terrorist, but history shows the line to be very clear.
  19. one of you florida guys has to find this guy and take him out drinking!! anybody who'd have the ingenuity to set up an ebay auction for the express purpose of getting the world to buy him beer is obviously a bit more evolved than the rest of society. this guy has things figured out..
  20. low mileage bah!!! if anything could handle it, it'd be a forty-foot crankshaft!!!! slightly off topic... j/k about the amsterdam thing. from what i've seen the city is absolutely beautiful, definitely on my to-visit list before i die. and as far as government goes, to my knowledge that place is the example of how a society should operate.
  21. judging by where you're living, you might be the only one in the state of mind to try that one!!!
  22. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIM!!!!!!! this day holds a bit of significance for me too.... my wife and i first met on this date two years ago.
  23. yeah... a new york city sewer rat strange. i've seen full crates go for much more than that, and they didn't look like half the engines those are. okay... so who's gonna be the first???
