  4. Woa now... what are we talking about or don't I want to know? another great topic gone to schick....(ba dum bum ) i personally plan to stop building mine up when it hits the street/race border. i bought it to drive it and i want to do that for a long time. the roads around me suck... no race suspension. the cops are gestapo... well, i'll still make it faster, i'll just try to exercise some form of self control... but never, never will i give up my cd player and my 11 btu air conditioner! but like has been said in another topic... everybody shows their love for their car in their own way. i bet tim, for example, gets as much if not more out of less-frequent drives in his absolutely incredible car as many of us do daily-driving our own z's. he and others have cars that they've taken to levels far beyond anything you'd subject to daily torture. and if mine was anywhere near theirs, i'd fight myself hard to keep it that way too. blah blah blah
  5. nice kill!!! those things are NOT slow... i've had one give me a pretty nice run...
  6. time for a seat swap.. don't those real sweet honda element's have waterproof seats? or you could shave... i swear it cuts down on sweat...
  7. i'm in utter awe. thank you for posting that pic! so if my eyes don't fail me, all fuel/intake- related equipment is on the opposite side from the exhaust and therefore the turbos? what a great idea... sure would make routing intercooler pipe a hell of a lot simpler! not to mention less ambient heat around the intakes. edit... some searching and i now understand the theory of crossflow heads. wow.
  8. tony... you're letting me in on some z history that's been lost on me. i never knew about previous dohc heads for l-engines, much less any versions coming out of nissan itself. thanks for the knowledge... i wanted to ask though, having been through the scene... have you gotten to know much about any of these engines that are out there in terms of power output, n/a vs. turbo applications, etc... you've sparked my curiosity and any further insights would be very much appreciated!...bob
  9. yeah, a friend told me the same thing... he's the prez of my z-club and has built a few of these himself. my numbers must have been off. even though he said he ran more like 28 at idle and lemme tell ya his car flew so, i guess i bought the regulator for a reason after all... thanks guys for all the help!
  10. i'd be dumb enough to be suckered by the look of innocence! does scottie win some kind of award for how fast he pulled off this swap yet still managed to make it look SOOO clean? nice nice job!!!!
  11. 12k in the 70's??? wow, that was 3 z's off the lot back then!!
  12. don't know if any of you guys heard from them yet, but i found this in my inbox this morning... Dear Bob Thank you for contacting to us. Sorry to let you know, but TC24-B1 (L28 Engine Head) is discontinue. But we might be able to ask for reproduction of TC24-B1 as special order. If we have enough order for TC24-B1. (Min. 5 order.) It is hand made and it takes time to make TC24-B1 kit. Anyway, if you and your friend want to get this parts. Please contact me again. Thanks. EnonvativForce Isamu what do you think...worth finding out exactly how much?
  13. yeah, it's all the time. i know some adjustments were made on the afm before i got it, basically the p/o's way of getting the engine to not lean out in spool range. damned if i know how to re-adjust it, but now that i'll have the fpr to add fuel when i need it i shouldn't need the afm tweaked like that. seems like the logical solution... now what do i do about it?
  14. pretty much stock turbo engine.... 77 ecu, barely even started to upgrade.
  15. i second that welcome! but most importantly, how's it running?
  16. ...and look at those exhaust pipes... they'd go right through the interior. hell with that man, i like the feel of an 11 btu air conditioner on a hot summer day!
  17. but hey... still cheaper than the $12k dohc l28 head!!!!
  18. hey guys... my 240 turbo has been running rich down low since i bought it, so i picked up a boost- referenced msd adjustable fpr, and went the ghetto lowes pressure gauge route. i hooked up the gauge first and was shocked to find the idle pressure to be right around 38-40. stumped. i know it's running rich... it bogs noticably off the line unless i launch at 3500 plus, and i've seen the plugs... before i changed them my last set was jet black. so why in god's name am i running rich???? if i had hair i'd be yanking at it right now.
  19. i did e-mail them as well, trust me if they could be cost-effective i'd be attracted. it's just that at even a quarter of that price, you can build a wicked engine, swap or not, without it. but at the right price... that'd open up an l engine really nice. wonder if they could be run on a turbo engine?
  20. a work of art at a mere 12 grand!!!! that's only... -6 full sr20 setups OR -about 3-4 rb26's OR -about 6 decently-built sbc's OR -about 6 kick-ass l28et's i'd love one... where do i sign up?
  21. leave it to a new yorker!
  22. in regards to that thread in the recycle bin... anyone know if he ever found the damn picture?
  23. -new front air dam (good luck with color matching.. 2 body shops laughed at the idea) -rims and tires -piping for my intercooler -stop it from running rich (10 mins. to install fpr ) -enough time to install what i've bought (boost gauge, z31 seats) -rolled wheel wells, zg flares -front carpet (back looks great, but i can relate to ghetto jobs!) -winning lotto ticket to make it run 12's
  24. i've found that if i boost the alternator up to around 25psi the wipers actually clean the window, the a/c fan keeps the car like a meat cooler, and my stereo could make a man deaf. but you need to run fully synthetic alternator fluid or the bearings will seize.
