  1. I'm looking into some 15x8 Racing Harts but I am planning to get 12" wilwoods. What is the clearance on this? Another thing, anyone know where to get the Nismo Sentra 5 Spoke wheels and the specs on them? Offset? ETC.
  2. Also Innovative Turbos also have a really good catalogue from what I've seen, and so far their tech support or support team at the phones is fucken awesome! They'll even mail you a free catalogue. http://www.innovativeturbo.com I'm trying to do a T3/T4 through them, maybe with a T04E Housing to make a little more. Well don't know what I'm doing now but for sure something is going in.
  3. Okay, I understand now. For those of you who dont know, there are two main parts to a turbo. One is the compressor, and the other is the turbo housing, or whatever you want to call it. The turbo compressor is the part that has the wheel that you can see where it pretty much looks like a snail's shell. (This is usually the shiny chromey or polished looking thing) The other part is the turbo housing, or others have called it many things. That's the actual part that bolts up to the turbo manifold and the exhaust spins the shaft. (This sometimes looks like the rusted part of the turbo, but is just usually darker due to the exhaust heat) The shaft goes all the way to the compressor housing which spins the turbine wheel, which sucks in the air.
  4. I'm assuming a T3 will bolt up just fine then. But here is my question, does a T3/T4 Hybrid turbo use a T4 Compressor and a T3 Turbo Housing? How does that work. Im starting to get confused about T3/T4 hybrids.
  5. Hey Alex, Will a T04E fit onto the stock manifold?
  6. Anyone have P90 or P90A? Heads on the both of them? Pros and cons?
  7. Anyone know about the FuelSafe® fuel tanks? Im planning a 280ZXT Swap with a biggerturbo. And am running a 1970Z
  8. Anyone have an HKS / ApexI / Greddy / Blitz exhaust on their car that has a photo? I'm looking for the Japanese Market for an exhaust (because I have a japanese car, go figure). Well at anyrate, let me know how it performs and how it sounds because i wanna nice deep (not too loud) exhaust that performs nice. My plans are to go with the Blitz NUR Spec exhaust.
  9. Can you guys describe what trim is? I'm getting into the turbo world and i'm planning to replace the stock turbo. I am hoping to do a T3/T4 Hybrid and know almost next to nothing about the turbos themselves, but know about the turbo system. Currently I'm driving a 240Z with future upgrades CV Joints and R200 diff from a 280ZX Turbo (Where I got my motor) I'm planning to reach the 300HP range with stock ECU... My mods will plan to be... Turbo ??? I'm thinking about Innovative turbos or the Blitz KKK Turbos. Exhaust - striaght from the downpipe into 3" pipe all the way out back with no catalytic converter into Blitz Nur Spec Exhaust Wastegate - External Intercooler - Spearco Injectors - ??? Not sure what I wanna do here...suggestions? BOV - Blitz I think thats it for now...My main concern is to learn more about the turbo itself. A/R Ratio? Trim? Little techincal things of that nature. You've been a great help guys thanks.
  10. Find some temporary solution and then in two years (2005) you can just get the cat removed and do a straight through exhaust. Since 30 year old cars don't have smog regulations in CA. My 71 is no smog
  11. I totally overlooked that picture. You should really ask the guys who make turbos themselves. Some of the big names in turbos like Innovative Turbos or something like that.
  12. Anyone know about the Blitz NUR Spec exhausts? I want to basically do a three inch all the way from the turbo downpipe straight into the exhaust. I think it will be deep. I'm all about deep and sounding like I have a motor powered by gas not a high pitched honda powered by rice. So me and this other guy are planning to drop one into the Z.
  13. Also, diesels run at lower RPM, and I believe those turbos are low RPM turbos. On the other hand gas turbos are higher RPM. I'm not sure about the differences but that's what I've heard.
  14. I'm not sure if i'm correct on this. But an oil cooler cools down the oil that helps lubricate your turbo. Your turbo life depends on cooler oil and good lubrication. On the other hand, your intake is different. An air-to-air intercooler is something 80% of the people do. Air-to-water cooled is a water intercooler and I see it used on drag cars. You would need cool water in the intercooler to be useful. I don't know if i'm 100% correct.
  15. You can also find the R200 diff out of a 300ZX that has LSD, if you can find it.
  16. What application are you going to put this on?
  17. Too bad i have no stereo in my car...way to go!
  18. I believe that is a Mercedes Gasket, not a Mercury. Just for reference.
  19. That helps a lot, im sure the guys at MSA can help out too. You've been a great help.
  20. As to hopefully help this problem for the springs, We were going to stiffen the springs by hopefully adding the correct washers underneath them. I know it's not the titanium springs that everyone may have on their civics, but this is the closest thing i can think of, or get a set of springs for the head via motorsport or anyone who makes them. Any suggestions?
  21. It's okay, Crazy Go Nuts is awesome. And hopefully the cam that we will pick for this project is that way. Also, recommendation for cams?
  22. Timing Chain I had a 300SD Turbo Diesel that was an inline 5. The Chain may work off of that motor. I'm not sure. I have a chain laying around here somewhere and i'll compare it to the timing chain i bought for my L28. I'll keep you folks updated.
  23. Maybe we should hope that the P90A Head that we're getting for this project has solid lifters so we can run a crazy go nuts cam.
