Met up with Mike today and he mentioned this meet so i searched about it. I'm in. My Z won't be near ready, but i may trailer it for kicks and giggles. In relevance to the thread, I use to own a V8 Z. I have a TH350 scatter shield if any of you guys need it... -steven m. Might want to contact JaysZ about the meet too, he e-mail'd me the other week and is from Houston as well.

sleek: thanks for all the info. awesome stuff i probably would have never have found out about if you didn't come in here. about the mac comment, i'm an ibm and ibm-type style person. never got use to the one button mouse. haha, you sound like a salesman! but on the flares... are they full length that go all the way to the front airdam as the bob sharp one or do they cut short at the fender. let me know, if they go to the airdam, i'll buy them just to get that section. thanks, steven m.

it doesn't work like that for video files... atleast for me. i just get a print screen of everything except for the video image. i tried a a few applications from the internet with no luck. i also heard of turning off hardware acceleration (via disabling the video card acceleration) with no luck. thanks for the suggestion, steven m.

hey guys, Just wondering if anyone has pics of the specific bob sharp 240z featured on the show "dream car garage" on speed vision. the body kit isn't like what i've seen on the IMSA and BRE cars (not that wide, and no g-nose). anyone one know if these were every in production (fiberglass piece-wise)? I believe i have a replica of the kit minus the front valence... if anyone can share some knowledge that would be great. i wish i knew how to screen capture from a video file... thanks guys, steven m.

there you go. 52~53mm inlet on the air horn. i wish i had a micrometer... from the TWM site, it says 52mm inlet "A" for 50pph mikuni's. http://www.twminduction.com/AirHorn/AirHorn-FR.html "Dimension Guide" shows how they show there measurements steven m. -

i'll take measurements on them... i've bought these from an old racer who bought these from an old racing team "back in the day"; and am just going by what he told me. edit: inlet of the air horn is 53mm... will post pic in a minute after i find my camera cord -
i have rear miata suspension if you want to put that in the 240z. i was going to use it for myself but it looks like i'm going to go the stock-type style. rear upper and lower control arms and hubs. double wishbone! just thought i'd throw that out there as well as the TB and radiator. s2000 motor in a 240z sounds like a hell of a monster. could also probably help you out with tubing the front end to keep weight down, it should take more than 50lbs off the front end. getting my jd2 tubing bender soon hopefully after i take delivery on some starions and a FB. steven m.

thanks guys for the comments. let's see, i got the parts from a good buddy that literally had no time for em'. most of the parts are over 15 years old or older (probably older than me) and are in new or like new condition. the carbs used to be raced, and in that class 44mm was the max, but was bored out to get some power; not part of the rules, but was a risk they took. i've just fallen into luck in the past couple of months. as far as these carbs, it will be my first time experience, but i'm just the driver and funder of the z car; my brother is my main mechanic/engineer and will be doing all the technicals, i tend to over think things when it comes to engines so i'll just focus on racing. i haven't had seat time in years (i definately need it) and will be probably campaigning just locally and for fun with my other good friends e30 318is that me and my brother have worked on for him. i can always start autocrossing the mini s that my bro has, but FWD isn't for me! hopefully this february the motor will be running, and by next fall/winter the suspension and brakes should be done and i will be competing locally here in houston and will be doing a couple of time trials at texas world speedway. thanks for the comments, more welcome! i always dreamed of having triple mikuni's, and this time around, i vowed to never sell this z-car unless i really needed to so i'll have her for awhile. thanks, steven m. -
hey guys, So i've gone to pick up some parts yesterday, here's what i got: Triple Mikuni's 44's taper bored to 50 with air filter assembly an array of mikuni jets and rebuild parts also a carb synchrometer a couple of starters some driveshafts a couple of drive axles 2 heads (one's an e30) a couple of tail lights a couple of valve covers an r180 diff (don't know what i'm going to do with this, maybe temporary) an aluminum dash with switches for the car triple gauge set for the above dash a couple of cams (not shown; inside that ammo box) an old school racing clutch (brand new) also have various odds and ends, 280z strut tubes, control arms and what not just waiting on some more money to buy the rest of the stuff: isky cams, old school brand-new electramotive high comp pistons, 2 or 3 l28 blocks, a 4 speed tranny, and a 5 speed tranny that needs to be rebuilt . all comments welcome; cheers! steven m. http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=8734036&uid=3266090&members=1 please click on link to view more pics hopefully she'll be on the track by next fall/winter!

recommended size tubing for tubing...
Sleeper-Z replied to Sleeper-Z's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
preith, in the scca rule books as far as solo 2005, the 1.5x.120 is for roll cages. i believe it states nothing about chassis. Cary: Thanks for all the info! you're a real help and inspiration. I'll be hopefully ordering the tubing bender soon ($600; ouch) and start practicing with spare tube before i start mocking and making the whole bottom frame, suspension, and then the cage. Thanks, Steven M. -
let me know how it goes! thinking about picking one up around christmas time just to have.

Running into tubing problems....
Sleeper-Z replied to a topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
thanks, i'll be definately looking into that... how much are you planning to weigh? i'm trying to get as close to 1500 as i can with all fiberglass panels, possibly aluminum wheels and with a motor/trans setup about 100lbs less than stock. i may look into doing a fiberglass main body (roof and rear side). -steven m. -
i might be able to make molds of my fiberglass panels... i'll let you know what happens. would be glad to help out a fellow zedd owner in need!
