  12. One more thought to what's been posted. Have you sprayed water in the engine bay lately??? If you did the TPS can short out sending a signal to the ECU as if you released the gas pedal at wot and it will shut off the fuel making the car not rev over 3000 rpm. If you have check for moisture in the TPS switch..... LARRY
  13. Take a look at this link............ http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/tps/index.html LARRY
  14. I'd like to address 2 subjects. 1.) I have over 150 buying transactions on e-bay including my 75 280Z V-8, which was my first e-bay purchase, and with 95% of them being car parts I have had excellent dealings on all of them. As stated above, do your homework..... 2.) Marcus, I feel your pain but I for one wish there was a way to resolve to everyone's satifaction your engine dispute.Your signature would not make me feel comfortable on being on this site or using it for direction on modifying my car if I was a first time veiwer and a post by you was the first one I read....IMHO..... LARRY
  15. Magnum's way is how we did it . Jump on that baby... LARRY
  16. My DATSUN restore book says on 240Z's remove the 3 machine screws from the flange and remove the fuel filler neck. Also says the necks are prone to cracking and when tank is topped fuel leaks and you get strong fuel odors, also may leak from the upper vapor -return-hose joint. LARRY
  17. Thanks for the spanking.... LARRY
  18. I agree, too bad there isn't a Photo Album link in your signature field when you post or on the left side profile when you post. I don't know how hard it is to add this but it would greatly increase the accessibility and use of the Photo Album... LARRY
  19. It's funny just to me that you are deciding on colors. I bought my car on e-bay painted just as you see it. If I was painting that car from the get-go that style would have never been in my mind. I get many comments on it and inside I'm laughing because I had nothing to do with choosing it except buying it that way. I was going to paint it this year something different but 90% of the time I'm driving so I don't care. I'm thinking on more blower boost now, more important to me than the outside color.. Good Luck on your car and any question on the mounting of the air dam just pm me... I'm going to 10lbs. boost and although the engine and tranny are race built my rear diff. is still stock. I'm looking at torque of around 450 ftlbs. at the crank and I'm glad the R-230 is in the garage..... LARRY
  20. Might check with this guy, he's going from auto to manual for the shift lever.... http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=99836 LARRY
  21. Let me throw my thoughs at you.......... I'm looking at this from a different time in life prospective.... How many times have you read on here that a new member has joined because he had a Z years ago and now wants one again and has to find one in " good " condition and the trouble he has doing that?????? You have that now and so what if it's not all you want it to be!! That's part of having a HybridZ. None of us are ever DONE with our cars. Every week something new comes out or someone here posts something they've done and we say .....DAMN....I got to do that. So to have more that you want to do or need to do, join the club. Every car show, esp. hot rod shows I go to, I gather more people that look at the car and tell me all about the Z they had years ago and they are always smiling. Do you want to be one of those???? By now you know every change in the sounds you hear when driving and that it means something and you stop and look. Do you want to start all over with this new car????? I feel there is more than meets the eye for his sale and you might inherit an all new bag of worms. 15 or so years down the road you don't want to look back and be kicking yourself at a Z car show because of selling this now. 15 or so years from now try doing what you've done up to now from scratch........ That's enough ranting for now..... LARRY
  22. Oh! Boy!........After reading z-car-digest for awhile, this could get interesting........ LARRY
  23. Damn... If I post one more picture the admin will be pm'ing me..... Look in my photo gallery, if you need something else pm me..... LARRY
