  1. around 2k? dear god, I could get my car metallic flaked for that in town. 400 per gallon? unless your doing a serious flake candy color than it shouldn't be around that much per gallon. Do all your body work, primer it and just drive it like that. You'll get more respect driving a car with primer spots showing you work on it than a shabby bubbling walmart rattle can'd car with some semi-mismatched spots.
  2. or you can do less coats with higher grade equipment and paint and have it come out great and not do it again in a year or two. I.E. Good paint setup $500 and up Home Walmart job $150 every year.. just do it right, its a Z car not a hondur (in the words of jeremy clarkson)
  3. I understand it seems cool to have a Rare skyline part on your car, but there are better options for actual function over form. Or did you have a reason unkown to us meer mortals?
  4. no that would match their popped hot pink hollister shirt way to well... and yes any paint will do for most things, if you really want to mess with Diesels, then you would take brown spray paint and a handfull of mud throw it in patternt that wheels throw and then spray paint over it, then on the tail gate write " I see you to P***Y to go mudding so I spray painted some on for you, bro"
  5. lol graffiti, Lower control arms, the side of jacked up diesels who think they own the earth just because they have enough torque to spin it. anything you can think of, orange paint will assist you.
  6. Nice, I have a ways to go on my suspension. Im going to do Techno Toy: Coilovers Tie Rods Strut tower bars F/R Lower control arms Bushing kit ball joints Tokico Illumina's Sway bars bla bla bla, all that crap that adds up way to quick.
  7. don't ruin the only tuely unique thing that Z cars interior have lol
  8. lol yeah, you can disconnect the green and white, thats what I did and its worked flawlessly. If my car wasn't getting the header done right now I could take a photo for you.
  9. lol fun things can be done with some flourescent orange paint.
  10. heh, let me bring you two up to speed, the White/Red is headlight, solid Red brings power, you close off the green w/white and take the top left and wire it to the White/Red so when you flip the tab and give the white/red power it turns on all your lights as well.
  11. yeah, my 280z has enough power to get the one wheel wonder squeelin at 40mph sideways haha. 215/70/R14 tires though my P.O. was a dumby, Im getting the normal tiire size here in the short future.
  12. you dont think I know this? I never planned on using it on my car, A local Z car club guy has the same carbed Z set up 45DCOE webers and has been looking for this turbo set up for along time, I would love a turbo set up, but thats why Im buying a built L28ET already. So slow down their sally.
  13. how much for the intercooler and piping and the turbo/exhaust manif Downpipe
  14. well, Someone else figured that 5% per 1/2 coil, and I took 1 and a 1/2coil wouldn't it increase into 15% or is my theory just up in smoke.
  15. very nice OniZ, I have a set of Tokico Blue Coils for my 280z that I cut and its gonna lower my car about 2-2.5" depending on stock suspension sag over the 32 years its been around. I believe that 1-1/2coils were cut off each spring, so does anyone know what that would bring the spring rate to? I believe the Tokico Blue springs were front 220 and 240 rear? So when 1-1/2 coils were cut off it would be something like, Front 255 and 276 Rear?
  16. Im not expecting a full bolt on set here, just wanting to know a little more info besides the sales pitch that K-sport gives. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/78-84-280ZX-KSPORT-Kontrol-Pro-Coilover-Springs-Shocks_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem53dd37b2efQQitemZ360193700591QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories they say for 78-84, now I'm assuming that its for ZX's only, and not a 78 280z (which is what I need the coilovers for). How much modifications would need to be done to install these ZX K-Sports onto my 280z, or if someone has a better option for actually coilovers that are below 1k please do tell. I have seen the Ground Control Coilovers ,but as much as I like the idea of a threaded sleeve to fit over a aftermarket strut that doesn't involve any welding or cutting, that being said, don't all GC coilovers HAVE to have the camber plates installed? Any Enlightenment on either subject would be welcomed.
  17. there is no way to completely eliminate them, just different variations of the same thing I told you. Complete motor specs?
