  2. before I had smoothed out my intake manifold entry, there was a blip under accel and idle
  3. Believe me, if I had a die grinder i would of used it but the bit I used on the dremel made short work of it.
  4. Before I get started. I will say that this section is only regarding the boring of the intake manifold and the install of the throttle body. I used an extra n47 intake manifold I had laying around that I will be using as a donor for my car. Most of you will have to use the intake manifold off of your car to do this. the manifold, rather shabby. The KA24 60mm Throttle body, (thanks matt) and using some headgasket material found at any parts store. now to get started. - flip over the KA24TB and cut out a square of gasket material, enough to fit over metal inlet on the intake manifold - Take a hammer and tap the heagasket material into the opening of the ka24tb giving you the opening, don't worry about the mounting holes and trimming yet. - then take the outline shape of the TB opening on the gasket and use a knife to cut it out. - Take the gasket and put tape it onto the intake manifold opening where your TB will go and get your sharpy out - Sharpy the outline onto the intake manifold opening, and then check it by putting the TB on it and opening the mouth. - after this is done with, time to bring out your weapon of choice. My weapon was a simple plug in dremel with a metal eating bit. - Start off by making it rounded, and a smooth transition toward your marks. - after that, just keep going till its a perfectly smooth transition and how you want it. Here is what I ended up with, and I am pleased with it, now I just have to finish some other things on this manfifold and install it on the car. and with the throttle being held on a little off center, but its a smooth open entrance all the way in and no more fluctuation in idle. Hopefully this might help some of you and save you some money, however I STRONGLY suggest bringing this to a engine shop to get your old manifold cleaned out of all metal shavings and get the inside resurfaced if you want full results. Good Luck HybridZers!
  5. that is not a very good mentality if you plan on being respected on this site (not you Modern)
  6. What recaro seats are those? hows the fit? PM me
  7. this looks alot nicer and more functional than sr.hellaflush's car from speedhunters
  8. unless you have a race prepped car or a die hard track car, if all you worry about is your cars performance than you will have a nice car, but in the end there is absolutely no reason why you cant have a nice balance of form and function, and if you slam your car right with the correct set-ups and modifications it will handle great. Dont automatically asume that it will handle crappy. and disregard 90% of the things the NasDumb school taught you. anyway, In my not so experienced or humble opinion very few z cars can pull off anything larger than 17's.
  9. haha yes the front turn signals are black, and you can still see through them just fine at night Its called light coat and sanding. and you can see the side markers flash so whatever lol
  10. yeah, I already have a set with less spokes. (see my sig)
  11. I have three of these and am looking for 1 more so i can complete the set so i can use my current wheels for track wheels. here is what they look like.
  12. to clarify using the 280z stub axles/half shafts same difference. If you have an R180 Differential, there is provisions that have to be done before installing the 280z ones, obviously due to different diffs. Yes they are stronger, but if you want to be safe within reason and have a v8 making a decent amount of power, you probably want to do the stub axle upgrade to z32 half shafts
  13. Very nice cars so far. Haven't posted in here yet, so why not. Here is my bonestock 1978 280z, I have lots of N/A performance parts laying around waiting to be put on, I.E. Headers, twin 60mm TB's, Intake, and a Plenum Im going to fabricate, and going to do a 2.5" static drop when I get new tires and when my new struts arrive. So here's my car on a bridge by my house out in the boonies.
  14. It gives me the same feel as ratsun does, go figure lol
  15. not very many Z cars can pull off the aero look, needs to have the perfect ride height and color. for the most part definately non aero kit. This has been said 1 million times and another million after that, its your car, don't ask the interwebz for your answer. Not even jeeve's can give you that answer
  16. yeah, very Identical problem except for my car would start then Idle crappy and sometimes just barely start and idle really ruff with my foot on the gas at about 400rpm. and yeah, I had brand new NGK's and if its getting that much fuel from you holding down the gas it can fould plugs really quick.
  17. I have the same exact car and had the same exact car. What I had to do was replace the Air Flow Meter, Thermostat, get the proper new thermostat housing sensors and housing, spark plugs. Do the easiest thing first, AFM and Spark plugs. lol and I'm 16 and broke aswell, it was about $250 for the shop to do all that and re do half of the wiring that the P.O. did, also highly advise getting the E12-80 Distributor upgrade and the Maxifuse block (fusible link) upgrade, made it alot smoother.
  18. what size and offset are the ones on the primer Z? I wish they made 0 offset 17's that arent CCW's...
  19. wow, alot since page 2 has gone on. two things, does AZC 240sx TB adapter make it so you dont have to bore out your intake manifold? and are you going to use flat tops or the zxt dished pistons?
  20. joe is that the stock 2.4L? sounds rediculous, rediculously awesome. also, off topic, what size tires?
  21. well there is sensible life here on hybrid after all.
  22. its not to bad, unbolt wait along time for the smelly fluid to come out, and then fight your way into the filler bolt and undo it and let a hose or a vacuum compressor to push the fluid in. I think diff is bad, when I go to fill it sometimes chunky metal slivers come out in the fluid obx time? I think so
  23. slap me silly if I'm wrong, but is that first motor a VH45? or VQ45 if that even exists, but anything is possilbe.
