    Thanks for the vid link
  2. It was hard to tell from driving mine and then riding in his. He has got some traction control stuff for the rear. I might get him out of the hole but if it lasted very long hmmmmmm I dont know. I havent put my car up against anything yet as I am still working bugs. gotta get a bigger oil pan with some baffling before I line up. I got the limiter set to 5500 rpm until I solve that. It is just hard to tell how quick or how slow my car is. He says the car was advertised as 4.2 sec 0 - 60 mph and 10.5 in the 1/4 I dont think I can touch that judging from others experience.
  3. I rode in my neighbors 2004 Cobra tonight. Pretty impressive blower whine from a streeter. Ran to about 105 mph. 4th gear 5000 rpm. I took him for a ride in mine. He said it had some pull. Just wanted to know what the group thinks the outcome would be and if anyone one had any head to head experience with these cars.

  5. 350 sbc est 350hp Muncie m20 welded 3.90 diff 255 50 16 rears 10 launches on halfshafts 2 blips of the throttle and dump the clutch on the third at 3200 rpm and then stand on it. Broke driver's side diff side universal. tore one of the 4 bearing shafts off the joint stock ujoint hollow? That flopping half shaft ate the lower portion of the rear control arm. 280zxt conversion done. I will report when it fails
  6. I am going to work on tire pressures for push issues. I have adjustable camber plates and run as much neg as they will allow. Even the last car I had had a terrific power on push in the corners. I could get it to turn at the end of a threshold braking session. It would glide through the first 1/3 of the turn fine. But as soon as I floored it she would rock from the FL to the RR, oops thinking of turn one at Summit, and push to track out. Unfortunately the only thing I had at the time was to throttle steer it around cause its track out was much sooner than I wanted it to be. BLAH Now these days I am setting up my son's kart for road course. We had his kart scaled. I watched as the weight was distributed by inserting or removing shims from etiher above or beneath the kingpin bushing up front. Effectively raising and lowering them. One of the first sessions he ran he was loose as all get out. Luckily they have scale in the paddock. We put him up there and there was very little rear grip. Checked the air pressures and I had all the tires at the same air pressure which was not how it was scaled. BAD DAD oh well live and learn. We decreased the rear air pressure from 9 lbs to 7.5 lbs and kept 8.5 up front. LO and behold he went back out and was not loose at all. So This tells me if your car is tight run more air pressure in the rear than the front. Whatcha Think?
  7. Can we get a 1/8 mile strip on the 5 acres for the Kelly Shindigs?
  8. Man that thing sounds sweeeeeet. Like the air cleaner housing. It has only been a couple months since my first start up, videos posted,. Sounds like you got alot of rods to run. Well keep us informed.
  9. You did alot better than me. Simple 120v 50 amp toggle swtich and some 10 gauge wire. Not even a relay.
  10. It is not much but boy is it fun. I laughed for 10 minutes afterwards. http://68.10.5.69:8081/videos/v80z/CV_FUN.wmv
  11. At long last thanks to wigens30 I got a matched set of authentic 280 zxt cv. They went right together with cygnusx1 adapters. Used the design to have the machined locally. Pics: Thanks to all who posted info on this conversion !!
  12. Dude Dont know if it will work for you but I read on the site here about the early 90s taurus sable fan. I picked one up at the JY. IT is awesome and an easy pull. I only wired low speed an it keeps my V8 355 cool. The best this it was only $10.00
  13. Doug Havent touched the boat yet. The swimming pool is ready. Went swimmiin today for the first time. SUMMER APPROACHES HOODY HOO. Dude last night WIGENS30 took his cv axles off ebay and sold them to me in the chat forum. I am so grateful. I replaced the broken halfshaft so it is up and running. I need to swing by and let you take a ride. I am on nights now and exhausted with the approaching holiday. I will be off Wednesday on but it is spring break with the kids. My schedule is changing where I will work Sunday through Wed night every week and be off for the rest. Boating HHMMMM. F%^&ING IRAN got the fuel prices up so high it is hard to enjoy anything motorized. Gotta get the boat over here and go through it like every year. then we will be ready. Tubing and fishing and drinkin.
  14. Welcome. Yeah Portsmouth is pretty bad but you will find something nice in Chesapeake. I am in Yorktown and am a native since 1969. If you have any questions give me a shout. Also synlubes is in the area as well. In order to see all of this place you will need to get out on the water.
  15. Getting the tiining and the carb down. It was just a hard lauch on questionable halfshafts with 10" tires and a locked diff. getting there. Had it up to 6200 rpm yesterday gotta get a bigger oil pan. You got any halfshafts?
  16. Drove the car to work tonight. Went on an ice cream run and decided to show off a bit. Driver's side diff end yoke seperated from the ujoint on that side. Guys brought me a couple wrenches and a flashlight. Removed the busted shaft and limped her back home. One of the advantages of a welded diff. BTW I am in the market for some half shafts.
  17. I have been looking at the SONIC units close. I used to run 10000rpm brand double disc racing clutch. http://68.10.5.69:8081/videos/clutch.wmv they make sevral for V8 apps
  18. only on the road at sustained rpm for at least 3-5 sec under accell. Blips in the garage dont produce the effect
  19. Those clutches sre all street strip clutches. They will never standup. I had a CF dual friction come apart on me behind a road race l28 3.1stroker making 275hp. It did so when I fogot to blip the throttle on a downshift. Locked rear end and goodyear r240 slicks. Looked like metal cereal coming out of the clutch fork hole. There is quarter master and others but I would recommend 10000rpm clutches. at 275 hp I ran the dual disc 5.5 inch if you are at 400 - 500 hp I would recommend a triple disc setup. They are by far the least expensive oout there and very good quality and service. the make a setup for l6 engine so no major mods to make it work and no special starters. http://www.10000rpm.com http://68.10.5.69:8081/videos/clutch.wmv
  20. I havent got into all the steps that youlaid out so well. The rev limiter was set on 5000 rpm on the crane cd box. turned it up. I have been on a long work week and about to get off for 6 days. I will have more time to fine tune. I have read many posts about road racing oil pans. Do you have a suggestion for a chevy racing oil pan? I have seen good pans listed by grumpy for under $100.00. I have seen drag pans for $150.00 and up. And I have seen what is adverised as road racing pans. Do you have a suggestion 7qt Windage tray trap door setup for side to side as well as heavy accel and decel. thanks
  21. On a JTR mounted 1st gen can you change from a stock oil pan to a 7-8 quart with kick outs without renmoveing the engine? Anybody done it?
  22. Man what a sound loved it. Got the high rpm oil fluctuation. Time for a better oil pan.
