  1. I'm running Modern Motorsports rear Stub axles and GC coilovers.... thats it.
  2. Yep, Ground Control Units. Even with the rotor hat in place (which is 3/8" thick) I had to trim the lower perch a bit. Not much though... it actually clears without trimming... but only by 1mm or so.
  3. Mike... you have 17 x 11's in the rear with 5-3/4" BS and the ZG's fit? These suckers stick out 3"... I thought the ZG was only good for 2 - 2.5"?
  4. I'd love to have a set of flares like that (ZG . The problem with the VB's is that they ARE 3" wider... but they're 3 inches wider from the top of the flare (where the body side changes direction away from the arch). So they're actually ONLY 1" wider than the original arch lip. I created a rant post with some pictures... here ya go: VB Flare Thread
  5. Here's the closest I have: The rears have a 5.75" BS and the fronts are 5.25". The front wheels extend out ~1.25" past the original fender lip. The rears... 3". I was going to run VB flares, but they're not wide enough. I'll probably have to make something custom.
  6. Finally have all four on the ground and thought I'd show them off! Now I just need to get the flares figured out. Specs on the wheels/tires: Rear -- 17 x 11 CCW Classics with 315/35's Front -- 17 x 10 CCW Classics with 275/45's
  7. This is true. Even our internal machine shop has to send projects out... Our cup runeth over with machining projects.
  8. They have to. I don't understand why anyone, in thier right mind, would WANT to be a member of that board. The BB design is archaic, the threads are confusing, there's little (if any) moderation, and I've never been able to pull any technical information off there that could be considered useful. We must bask in the light that is HybridZ.
  9. Arguing about the merits/performance of a vehicle is one thing, but getting all twisted out of shape and resorting to flat out attacks is rediculous... Just a stupid attempt to prove the other guy wrong.
  10. OMG... That's one of the reasons I never go to that site.

Edit: BTW... Please don't take anything I have said (above or in this post) as trying to be argumentative or disrespectful. That is definately not the intention. Nigel is absolutely correct and is only trying to ensure that members don't unintentionally open themselves up for abuse. His post was a polite way to bring attention to the rules of this site... and that is always a good thing. Objection sustained. However... that statement is prefaced by: [ ] My clients were merely stating thier 'desire' to keep a Nissan engine in thier vehicles. They were not on a soap box, nor were they 'promoting' a Datsun/Nissan only swap. [/ ] Just kidding. Good looking out... I would just hate to see someone get dinged for wanting to keep their car a Nissan Hybrid. As long as they aren't bashing any other swaps, acting like a snobbish purist, or pretending that Nissan motors are the only way to go... are they really doing harm? Guess that's probably up to the Admins and Mods to evaluate on a case-by-case basis. [guilty conscience] Heck...I've probably made this error myself [/guilty conscience]

I don't think anything they said really breaks any of the rules. They weren't trashing the V8 swap, they were just stating thier preference for keeping thier engines Nissan.
  13. Ross is a good guy and he's dedicated to his customers. He jumped through hoops to get me my parts and for that I am a big fan! EVERY component I have ordered from him has performed flawlessly... and that's definately a testament to Ross's competency.
  14. Has anyone (other than me) verified the link I posted? I'll delete it if there are problems with it. It's a bit of a download... but it came out ok for me.
  15. Jamie, Here's a direct link to the PDF. Once it opens you can save it (I just tried it to verify that it works). http://www.hkskylineclub.com/images/Techsource/gtr_32_service_manual.pdf I was able to download that one ok... perhaps its a computer issue.
  16. I'm on 2 hours sleep and I've lost track of the quantity of consumed caffienated drinks. Surprisingly... I was feeling quite creative. About 30 minutes... broken up between a couple tooling designs I'm working on.
  17. What you're looking at is a collaborative effort between Renault (market share holder of Nissan), BMW, Ford and Kikkoman. The intent was to produce a vehicle that would, in some way, appeal to a wide range of automotive enthusiasts and, simultaneously, provide a platform to subtly market their respective products. Using focus groups and relying heavily on industry speculation and demographics they decided to base the vehicle on Fords V-6 Mustang (whose relatively low cost underpinnings will dramatically reduce the time period between the conceptualization phase and final production). The vehicle concept is called the Bimstang GTR-X Type R. The Design: Since the vehicle would be relatively slow, and would therefore spend a majority of it's time in the rearview mirror of true performance vehicles, BMW was called upon to 'style' the front end. The crew from Bavaria wasted no time and quickly developed a visual package borrowing heavily from the new 5 and 7 series models. BMW's trademark 'kidney grill' seamlessly integrates with the large cowl induction hood making the front end scream: "Beware! I could at any time call upon the Teutonic gods and crush your _________ [insert name of super car here] like the country of France!" The side profile of the vehicle retains the look and feel of Ford's Mustang but has been spiced up by Dearborn's own SVO unit. Vents in the front fenders act to expel hot air from the engine bay in an effort to decrease underhood temps. Side skirts reduce ground clearance and visually blend the front fascia with the sides and rear of the vehicle. Implementing this feature successfully was no small task and the SVO team worked closely with BMW designers to ease the transition. The side scoops on the rear quarter transform the otherwise visually bland shanks of the Mustang and provide a means to cool the massive 10 inch rotors behind the Mustang's stock wheels (which have an enormously strong fan-base in the US. Remember those demographic studies we discussed earlier?). The rear of the car was turned over to Kikkoman's marketing team (Kikk Works). Since the car would be light to moderately quick the team decided to create a look that would visually appeal to the top end of the demographic base… low income Honda tuners. Any Honda owner approaching the concept on the highway, from the rear, can instantly recognize the styling passion and methodologies that went into the Kikk Works design. The parts used to transform the rear of the concept were easily sourced from a number of US high performance tuning companies and are readily available from the aftermarket. Through theoretical, Gran Turismo 4, simulation the rear wing is said to generate enormous amounts of down force. Nissan has been keeping their lips firmly sealed on their involvement in the project, but insiders say that Nissan may be giving us a glimpse of what we might expect from their next project: the Skyline GTR. When, and if, the Bimstang GTR-X Type R will go into production is uncertain. What is certain, though, is that the car already has a legion of fans behind it. A website has been dedicated to the concept and can be found at http://WWW.Riceboypage.com.
  18. As simple as they are I think they are one of the coolest wheels out there. Especially the black ones... Just watch when you're test fitting them... the anodizing is not a 'hard' anodize and wears off fairly easily on the edges (where the coating is the thinnest). I just tape the edges up with blue painters tape when I'm putting them on and off.
  19. Watch out though... some of our newer members are getting really defensive. We wouldn't want someone to think negatively about us. Lets all hug. Since this post was about coilovers I'd like to share (affectionately... so nobody gets offended) a pic of one of my CCW's. I just reinstalled my front struts with GC coilovers: Sorry for the quality. Camera phone.
  20. You don't have to win the race to get your permit signed off, right? Even as a novice, wouldn't he have a good understanding of these rules? What he did looked extremely dangerous.
  21. Yeah Jamie... until you whooped one of us in a race. We'd be laughing at your tail lights!
