  1. Here you go! http://members.jcom.home.ne.jp/altezza-gita/diy-tail2-01.htm
  2. I believe JamieT was working on something very similar. In the post below he doesn't specifically mention Brembo's, but I believe the subject did come up. Perhaps he will chime in and provide more info. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=99088&highlight=cobra+lug
  3. I don't think dsommer is going to use washers... but someone else might and they might just use the search feature and, by doing so, will find multiple reasons why NOT to do this.
  4. I'm warning you guys... it's not much to look at right now:
  5. Bart... you would probably be the only one! J/k
  6. tfreer, You're not alone! I've been through 5 engine choices (L28ET, SR20DET, 7M-GTE, RB25DET, and finally RB26DETT). I'm installing the RB26, but will be building an RB30 on the side (go figure!), Bought and sold 2 sets of wheels before settling on the CCW's, have 4 pints of different paint colors (not including the one I SAY I'm going to use), have an Q45 R200 VLSD and am thinking of going to a clutch type, have purchased 2 sets of fender flares before making my own, and I go back and forth on a weekly basis as to which EMS to use (current choice right now is the AEM).
  7. I used washers or mock-up purposes only (like Vinny said), but one thing to keep in mind: Washer thicknesses are rarely consistent and likely will not allow the wheel mounting face to remain parallel with the face of the hub/stub axle. I would err on the side of caution and say "Don't do it". *Edit* We posted at the same time. Disregard!
  8. Vinny, the borders of Riverside and Ontario meet each other to the east. Where my car is located is only ~15 minutes from Ont. Hey Marcus... don't forget about Vince's for Spaghetti!
  9. I'm in Ontario all the time! Spent some time growing up there and lived there as recently as 6 months ago. My RBZ is in Riverside (which isn't that far away). I'll meet up with ya!
  10. Yep... CCW makes a great wheel. You can see one in my sig... and more in this thread: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=102803 They ain't cheap... but they sure are purty.
  11. If you're on a budget... the V8 will give you more for your money. Don't underestimate the costs (in both time and money) for a swap (whatever the engine choice). The subject of engine weight, position, and effects of handling characteristics has been discussed, ad nauseum, with respect to the different engines out there. It has pretty much been shown that no one engine will give you much of an advantage over another (with respect to these factors). SR parts ARE easier to find, but support for RB parts is on the increase. Open any Stupor Street and you will find various advertisers listing parts for the RB. These swaps are 'the new thing' for the S13/14 guys... thus increasing demand for RB parts. I don't think this should be a factor anymore. Man... I am the exact opposite. After messing with VW's and Motorcycles (multiple carb setups) I'm pretty much turned off by the buggers. But hey, go with what ya' know!
  12. Being a HUGE childhood fan of the A-Team I just can't resist the Mr. T versions:
  13. USAF 96-'02 (OVER Afghanistan '01-'02)
  14. Clean up? Shoot... Why clean it off when I'm just going to get dirty again the next day? I can spend that time being productive in the garage. GAWD... do you guys ever get anything done? Or are you too busy cleaning yourselves all day? j/k My wife does not think dirty fingernails is a badge of honor (WTF, right?). She'll stand there and watch me clean up... pointing out all the spots I miss. No cleany... No booty. *sigh*
  15. I believe this might be a case of: "Hey Cletus, what you think this here things worth?" $1100 shot in the dark.
  16. Thats cool, man... It just struck me a little funny when you said "The designs are copyrighted". The designs look good... you should definately post pictures when they are completed.
  17. How did you get those 'copyrighted'? Are you planning to sell them?
  18. Don't quite know what to say about that...
  19. Its a good thing knives, swords, rocks, and cars can't kill people. The city will be safe at last! *sigh*
  20. Which was immediately prefaced by: Nope... definately not about the money... absolutely not...I mean how could anyone POSSIBLY believe this is about the money?
  21. That GTR700 is awesome... I've got some dyno vids of that beast saved to my computer. That was the one that bucked the dyno during one of its runs. The RB30 twin cam is kinda the bastard child motor of the skyline world (atleast... when coupled with the RB26DETT head). There are many who don't understand the logic behind taking a naturally aspirated 'taxi-engine' block and coupling it with the RB26DETT head... especially when the 26 block is extremely capable. I think the attraction to the 30/26 is it's cost effectiveness. It's torquey and quite capable of handling (easily) 500-600 hp. RB30e bottom ends can be bought (atleast in Australia) for about $200. Some crank prep, rods, and pistons can net you a 3 litre motor without costing a small fortune. You sacrifice some rpms off the top, but you get more torque and (it is reported) a wider/flatter power band. There are plenty of ways to increase the 26's displacement, but they are extremely expensive... anywhere from $7,000 to $15,000.
  22. BTW... this is the link I'm referring to: http://www.nizpro.com.au/
  23. Every time I try to get to Nizpro's website it can't be found. Do you have a direct link? I didn't think they were offering the girdle anymore... am I wrong? It doesn't look overly difficult to design/fabricate... I'm sure that measurements could be taken from the stock girdle and a new piece could be machined (Assuming Nizpro no longer offers them)... it would just be costly. I wonder what type of steel they used...
