  1. Maybe I'm somewhere in the top 10. lol 9.69 @ 144 on a slippery Montgomery track. Stock motor, 8" radial tires, drove it almost 1000 miles in a weekend a couple of years ago on one of the dni trips. I don't drive it daily but could easily! JT
  2. Running 15x8 with a 5.5 backspacing and a tiny spacer (rubbed the strut just a hair on one side when I put on my 2nd set of MT radials.....kinda strange). Stock suspension with coilovers. It's a pretty tight fit in the back but it's all inside the fenders and doesn't rub. I also shaved my fender lips years ago to make some nittos fit so that gives me a little more room. JT
  3. HAHA. Man, I used to watch Emmit Otter on a daily basis when I was a little kid......I think I wore the vhs tape out! I saw the DVD for sale in Rite-Aid a few years back and had to buy it. Watching it with my little boy these days. My wife thinks I'm crazy as well. lol JT
  4. I don't think the rb is going to change anything to do with the suspension setup. I'm running (I think) 225 front and 250 or 275 in the rear. Been using this for 8 or 9 years and have been happy with it. JT
  5. DJHsuperZ: Same Z as in the viper video. It is in quite a few videos floating around racing random fast street cars. lol boostmaster: On the day the 9 sec pass was made I was spraying as I took my foot off the brake. Usually, on a better hooking track, I'm full throttle and spraying about a half second before I let off the brake. daron: I'm running stock 280z stubs with 280zxt axles, and a r200 lsd.
  6. I used the stock clutch fan for a couple years when I first did my swap. I think the main reason I changed was to make a little extra room to mount an overflow tank. I've always been kinda partial to a clutch fan for some reason. JT
  7. Thats pretty badazz. Had a guy at the track last weekend talking to me about doing an RB powered rail car. Good stuff. JT
  8. Went to our local track last night and made a few passes. Cut a 1.42 60 ft on 235-60-15 MT Street Radials. Ran a best of 5.65 @ 113. It's a 600ft track, not a full 660 1/8 mile. You can pretty much religously add 3/10 and 5 mph and be very close to a full 1/8. So ~ 5.95 @ 118 if it was a full 1/8 track. Kind of funny when the "big tire" cars don't want to line up beside an import on tiny radials. lol When I ran the 9.69 pass a couple of weekends ago in the 1/4, it was on a 1.59 60 ft and a 6.29 1/8. 5.74 pass: 5.65 pass: JT
  9. Man, I really wanted to come....just wasn't in the cards this time. Been working on an insurance job at the shop and had to stay and get it wrapped up. Next time for sure! JT
  10. Definately badass. I love the FD body....just don't care for the rotory. JT
  11. Thanks man. I'm hoping to make it to DNI but not sure if it's going to be in the cards or not yet. Keep in mind these passes were on a 235-60-15 ET Street drag radial.....not the ET Streets. I think I can get it to go a little quicker but I'm going to be limited by the tires. I guess I'll have to step up to some big boy tires at some point. LOL
  12. Thanks for the great vid, man. JT
  13. Here are a couple of vids. The first is in the finals against my buddy Sam (roadracer4life)......2jz S14 and the 2nd was in the 1st round I believe. I haven't seen any vids of the 9.69 pass.
  14. LOL. I bet you were regretting helping with the wideband sensor at that point. haha Was definately a great race in the finals. I was hoping to take the W but it's all good. No shame in losing to your car. Congrats on the W and the 9 sec pass! I forget which wheel I have but it's a .58 turbine housing......pretty tiny.
  15. It's cool man. I don't know about 8's....I would be blown away with low 9's......hell, I'm still in disbelief about the mid 9! Wonder what the record is for fastest rb25 powered car with a stock long block. I would love to know. I would also love to know what the record is for a car on a 235 radial! lol The adapter, trans, flexplate, and converter are all ATI. Normally, I'll leave on 8-10 psi but the track this weekend has never done well for me so I was leaving on 0 boost. I was holding it at about 2000 rpm's just to preload everything and then just flooring it as I let off the brake. The 125 shot really motivates it quick! lol. I'm going to go to a local track soon and leave on some boost and see if I can get it to go a little quicker. JT
  16. On the 9.69 pass I cut a 1.59 60 ft. I should be able to get it down in the 1.4's with a little practice on a better hooking track. I have never been able to hook well at Montgomery. I wasn't even building any boost before I launched. Just preloaded the suspension then sprayed it when the lights came down. Normally I leave at 8-10psi on a better track Are you talking about the R230 rear? For the time being I don't plan to change a thing on the rear end until I have a problem breaking parts. It does well as-is and shows no signs of giving up with the footbrake. JT
  17. Wet. NX kit with a compucar nozzle. Had bad luck with the nx nozzles. JT
  18. Well, no doubt mine is on borrowed time. Without nitrous I make 440-450 rwhp @ 20psi. On the 50 jets I make ~550 on pump gas and on the 125 jets I make 630-650 or so with the 1/3 race gas mix. Havent gotten a clean dyno pull with the big jets in so I'm only estimating. Keep in mind this is through an auto which cost me 50 rwhp when I swapped from 5spd. JT
  19. Just the plain ole 3.7 LSD but with the new clutches shimmed for 75# breakaway. I do have a transbrake but have only used it once and snapped both CV axle shafts. lol The 9.6 was a footbrake pass. We should have gotten together when you were close by. That would have been cool. JT
  20. Yep, th350. About 15psi cold in the tires. Motor is unopened. I swapped valve covers and oil pan. Thats it! LOL Phil.
  21. Thanks guys. Basic setup is: Stock rb25 longblock t04r big kahuna "Speed Shop Thagard" Intake manifold and intercooler ATI th350 trans SDS EFI 75# injectors Ebay header M/T 235-60-15 ET Street Radials 1/3 118/93 octane fuel. I believe it works out to be ~98 octane. Passes were made at 20psi + 125 shot. JT
  22. Went to the import face off today in Montgomery and managed to click off a 9.69 @ 144 and then backed it up with a 9.8 @ 144. Needless to say I'm pretty stoked. Still on a bone stock long block and MT 235-60-15 drag radials. And it has more in it! With a little more tweaking I think I can get it down to a 9.4-9.5 I'll post a vid as soon as it's up. JT
