  1. 235-60-15 MT ET Street Radial on a 15x8 Weld Draglite 5.5" backspacing.
  2. I don't use that kit in particular but I have been using a single nozzle wet kit on my rb25 z for several years. I normally use "50" jets but I briefly had 125 jets in it at one time and quickly destroyed a ringland on the #5 piston at over 600rwhp on pump gas. lol. RB's with bigger turbos are fairly lazy and the nitrous really wakes them up. JT
  3. I have an excellent parts car here in Mobile, AL. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=151497&highlight=280z It's a 2+2 but I believe most of the bolt on body panels are the same as a coupe. JT
  4. I have a 76 280z here in Mobile, AL. Ugly but minor rust. I would take less than $1000 for it. If you're interested I'll get pics to you and figure what I would have to have for it and what comes with it. Thanks, JT
  5. I made a pretty neat table this year. I found an elevator door (stainless top), and welded 3" exhaust pipe on the 4 corners. Came back and braced the legs with square tubing and also added gussets to the legs. Turned out pretty nice. I'll try to gets a pic of it and post it up. JT
  6. A few of you may know this already but Ivan Jurisic's (Ivan280zt) sister passed away this past week. She was only in her 20's and had no history of medical problems so as you can imagine, this was very unexpected. From what I understand she went to the ER the other night b/c she was feeling bad. They didn't find anything wrong with her and sent her home. She came home and went to sleep and didn't wake up. She had no medical or life insurance so the family is having to try to get loans to pay for the medical and funeral bills. I'm taking up money locally to give to Ivan's family to help out with the expenses. I know he has many friend's here on hybridz. If anyone wants to contribute, you can paypal me at jtbaldwin@hotmail.com . If you have any questions, feel free to email or pm me. Thanks! JT
  7. Quite a ways away but I have a pretty straight 1990 2+2 5 spd. Silver on black cloth. Outside is straight but could use paint. Inside is very nice. I purchased it from an older guy not too long ago. He replaced the motor and converted it from auto to 5spd a few years ago and it hasn't cranked since. Shouldn't take much to get it going.....haven't gotten around to messing with it much myself yet. I stuck and battery in it and turned it over and it sounds like a timing issue to me by the way it cranks over. I would be willing to take $1500 for it if you are interested. I can get some pics to you if you want. Just let me know. Thanks, JT Damn, didn't realize this post was almost a year old........
  8. You mean like this one? Don't know much about it. It is on my 73 240z that I have for sale. Could only find one reference online to the stamp on the manifold, but no real info on it. From what I'm told this carb is the same or very similar to what came on some old datsun trucks and such. I don't think I'd try to use it with a high compression or turbo setup. JT
  9. Awesome dude. Glad to see the header worked out for you! Good numbers for relatively low boost!
  10. Holy crap. PM sent. Had I known that I would have hauled it off for scrap. Hey Joel, this is the motor you purchased on ebay that I stored for you for a while. I traded it to Donald here for some carbs and a hood. Didn't the guy you got it from say it was supposed to be a good motor? JT

    rods?

Whats wrong with the stock rods?? My car has been making 550+ rwhp for over 2 years on a completely stock motor. The previous stock motor made over 600 rwhp.....stock cast pistons were it's demise (ring land). Z240: Just curious but how are the rb26 rods any better than the rb25 rods?

    WTB/WTT 240z

Nah, the one in the sig isn't for sale......at least not for anywhere near $6500. Depending on the trade, I would consider it on the other 2. JT

    WTB/WTT 240z

May be a little more than you're looking to spend but I have a really nice 73 240z I'm going to be putting up for sale later this week for $6500. It's mostly rust free and is an excellent driver. I also have another 73 that's more of a project. Cranks right up and revs fine but needs some carb work and general freshening up to be driven. I would let it go for $1200. Has a little rust here and there but pretty solid. JT
  15. Well, I bought the car not running. Put a battery in it and it fired right up just didn't run very well. After playing with the idle mixture screws I got it to where it fires up and idles good but it doesn't run very well down the road. Thats as far as I've had time to get with it. I'll let you know as I progress......I may end up putting some early SU's on it at some point and ditching the 4 bbl. JT
  16. I picked up 2 240z's recently. One came with some crappy intake with a 2 bbl carb and one came with an intake indentical to yours with a holley 390 cfm carb. I came across an auction a little while back where a guy was selling one just like this and said it was made by Turbo Tom. I haven't been able to find anything else about it. If I get more info I'll let you know. JT
  17. It really sounds like a timing issue. Also, have you checked out the CHTS? Setup looks awesome by the way. JT
  18. About 6 years ago I picked up a 260z with a bunch of work done to it......triple webers, ported E-31, etc. The car was rusty so I parted it out. I recently got back the head from the guy I sold it to and realized it has a racer brown cam......apparently it's a 325-R grind. I have been searching and cannot find any info on this cam. I have been picking up parts recently to put together a na L-28 setup for my 240z and would like to use this E31 and cam. Can anyone help me get some specs on it? Thanks! JT
  19. Where in Florida do you live? I picked up a 240z recently that I am considering selling at some point. JT
  20. Sorry, just realized you have a 280zx, not a 280z. The car we were working on is z 280z.
  21. I have a th350 in my car with the JW bellhousing and it fits fine. We were test fitting the th400 on a buddy's car (Ivan280zt) and it didn't look like it was going to fit unless he also got the JW bellhousing (apparently they use the same JW bellhousing on the th350 and th400). JT
  22. Went to the track Sunday and made a few passes. Footbraking, I ran back to back 10.5's. The track was hooking well and I brought the car on a trailer so I decided to try out the transbrake for the first time. 1st pass on the brake I left on about 12-14 psi, no nitrous. When the car jumped it caught me off gaurd and it took me a second to go full throttle and spray the nitrous. Still cut a 1.62 60 ft and went a 10.4 @ 133. That felt pretty good so I decided to go for broke on the next pass. I put it on about 18 psi and left full throttle on the nitrous.....BAM. Car didn't even move. WHen I got it home and tore it apart, turns out I twisted the ends off both 280zxt axles right at the splines. I was under the impression these shafts were pretty much bullet proof, but i guess not. Anyone know if the 300zxt shafts are any stronger or do I need to go to the r230 or a solid axle? I'm looking into the solid axle at the moment as I don't like the gearing option of the r230. I would really like to go to a taller gear.....~3.30. Here are some pics of the axles:
