  1. Wonderfull idea, I'd be up for a calender. I really like the idea of voteing for the cars, but at this point in time we would have to vote for two a month. To give these guys a good amount of time to pull everything together. I really like the idea of a short bio w/description. That's what's missing in car calenders now, especialy when it's not a "stock" showcase. Pictures alone can't describe the cars that are going to be in this.
  2. I'm currently running on my SBC Ceramic coated block huggers, a 90' bend, 12" of pipe, empty glass pack, 20" of pipe, and a 45' bend in dual 2.5". And it is way too loud. I want to quiet it up to mack the sound of the V8, the way it sits now no one will pay to play but they want to see it run.
  3. I'm sare that there is a manual tranny that can put up with the power levels that your going to throw at it. Will a stock T-56 hold it probobly not for long. The new vet and the Viper both are available with a manual transmission that deals with those power levels and higher. Do some reasearch on the LS1 board, and or see if you can find out what Lingenfelter uses.
  4. It is the cheapest most time consuming pain in the ass improvement you can make on a Z.
  5. I don't think you can get it in a spray can. But Dupont Chevy Orange/Red engine enamle is a close match.
  6. I just enjoy beating Mustangs because there are a dime a dozen in this area, and most owners think that Mustangs are Gods gift to sports cars. They are however being replaced by Civics. Same mentality though, Civics & Mustangs.
  7. Sorry for such a big pic. I've got a couple shots of my 280z here http://www.jeeps4ever.com/wickedwild/dotty.htm
  8. That was probobly me cursing. The "80's" sbc have the dipstick on the passenger side. The older ones have the drivers side dipstick. The problem with the passenger side ones is that no one can seem to figure out a working aftermarket dipstick, I went through 5 of them. I eventually ended up going to the dealership and getting an oem. Niced painted engine and I love my valve covers, one ugly oem dipstick that I still had to bend to work.
  9. Here at work if we flush a transmission that has had accesive clutch wear and the transmission no longer has enough clutch material to keep the cluthes from slipping we add GM's Limited slip additive. It is a little 8oz bottle of friction modifier. I have seen first hand where a car couldn't even move from the bay "fixed". I do not however reccomend adding it to a heathy transmission to make it shift faster. It can be a bandaid for a failing transmission though.
  10. My 305 eats up 350's and 400's in larger cars. The 305 can be a good engine if you build it to rev. I have $1200 in my 305, granted I did my own port and pollish and my own assembily. But with a 10:1 compression ratio and the right cam it can be a strong engine. BTW the only problem I had building the engine was that I used an '85 block, I will never build a bastard small block again with the dipstick on the pass side.
  11. I got a Jeep last night... I dub thee V-dent. I picked up the XJ last night here is the low down. $200 l6 auto 4x4 (I was not shure till I saw it, forgot to ask) 168,000 mi Tires bald bad Brakes little soft 2qts low on oil (smokes a little) 1 gallon low on coolant (almost overheated on the way home) t-case works She backed it into a pole HARD rear bumper (bent in half) class 2 hitch (bent in half) rear hatch (bent in half) rear floor creased in 2" gas tank and skid plate dented in 6" (gage works, pick up works lost about 5 gal out of the tank) But I went over there with my air tank aired up a flat, stoped at one servise station and picked up 2qts drove 8 miles picked up some coolant and drove it home. Shifts smooth will go over 65 engine pulls hard and smooth. Shifted into 4 low to get it in the barn. Best christmas present ever. I sold my last Jeep (lifted YJ) to purchess my house 9 months ago. But I'm hopeing to build a sub $1000 trail beast for weakend fun.
  12. Try adding a black pin stripe starting at the tip of the hood on the crease that runs into the thicker stripe on the buldge.
  13. Light low and Loud is it's current theme. The car is stripped down as far as I currently can, although I know I can pull more weight out of it. My goal is to get the car under the 2000# mark wet with sub frame connectors. The original paint is still covering most of the car heavily oxidized. I would like to repaint is a similar orange with a single white stripe starting with a pin that V’s out on the hood bulge and runs all the way back. I hope to go wide when I go lighter also. The current 305sbc runs little exhaust and leaves little imagination to what is under the hood, but even with a stealthy exhaust it’s hard to hid the lope shake associated with the American small block under the hood. It’s so loud and threatening sitting at a stoplight that I cannot drive though town without getting piped or staged at a light. But ppl still looks surprised when they get spanked??? I like it the way it is now. It’s very raw, ugly, and unrefined. But do I make it a sleeper, or go wide and balls literally hanging out dragging on the asphalt?
  14. I just cut a couple peices of used tire out and sandwitched it in there. Been working for a year.
  15. I've seen a vid clip of one running, so it can be done.
  16. I want enough to scare me. I want enough that it would take a buda like zen to maintain control. I am a gear head in its most basic form. Searching for pure unadulterated torque and power. I live for the smell of rich running exhaust fumes mixed with burning rubber. I am in euphoria when my car shakes at idle growling spitting fire daring anything on wheals to challenge it. No man who thinks he has fast car can resist revving his engine at a stoplight daring to hear the beast unleashed. Pistons pound in my sleep, oil runs in my veins. My flesh it burned, scrapped, and cut into this car. I know every bolt, every flaw; all of it’s potential. But I’m poor. How much power do I think is enough in a Z? How much money do you have? For me there is not enough.
  17. I was torn betwen Halo 2 and Need For Speed Underground 2 I got NFSU2 Besides I'm still addicted to Mech online
  18. I was just recently riped off on ebay for the first time. Preordered Halo 2 from a canadian with over 100 posotive feedback, she got me and about 100 other people for $39.99. But I have her address, don't know what good it will do me.
