  1. Buying a shop manual is a good place to start. At least then you will have a reference to go by. After you change the oil/filter and remove the plugs, you may want to do a compression and leak-down test....it will give you an idea of the condition of the engine internals. Then follow b_sosick's recommendations. Congrates on your first Z!!!

  2. Because when they're representing a business or a company and tell a potential customer of said product to go f-themselves' date=' they'll post it on a site like this one for thousands of other potential customers to see who they shouldn't do business with...

    ....that's why.

And that's new????? I don't think so. Anytime we deal with the public we always have the jerks.

  3. LamboZ, I'm running 17 x 9 in the rear with 235-40, under stock fenders with the inner lip rolled, and I believe I'm pretty much at the limit......very close tolerance but no rubbing. I think 275 are a bit too wide to fit. You can view my Z in the photo gallery. And yes I have sectioned strut and coilovers. My wheels have an offset of 35mm and spacers (approx 23 to 24mm) equaling approximately 11 to 12mm overall offset.

  4. It always surprises me when people work on their cooling system, replace parts, and coolant but never consider to chemically flush the system. The inside of your cooling system may look OK but, a very thin layer of corrosion will build up over time and it will prevent good heat transfer from the block to the coolant. Just some food for thought!

  5. With all the nonsense aside, it was an interesting but usual race. I thought the negotiator for the Z team maintained his composure quite well under pressure. I was a little surprised on two counts....1)that a HYBRIDZ Z didn't have a bowtie motor in it, and 2) that the state of tuning on the Z wasn't spot on. I just figured with all the talent and knowledge on this sight, the figing Z would have run like a top. Probably the best result of the show was HYBRIDZ's exposure on national TV. Congatulations to all the guys that put forth the effort to prepare the Z and make it happen.

P.S. Did anyone notice that the host of the show looked a little nervous during the heated negotiations? He still looks and acts like a bonehead!

  6. I tend to agree with Boobala......not my favorite show. The host of the show looks and acts like a meat-head! The thing that bugs me the most is their formate.....they start a race and then cut to a friggin commercial! Lame!!! However, I'm certainly going to watch the wensday night show. As quoted by the meat-head...."Lets race" (with the I'm so seriously cool look on his face).

  7. Has your cooling system been properly flushed. A very thin film of rust colored stuff will build up on the inside of the cooling system over time that creates an insulation barriers, inhibiting heat transfer. Lots of people who have installed a new water pump, new or reconditioned radiator, hoses, and fluid, but have not properly flushed the entire system, continue to have overheating issues and wonder why?
