  1. I have yet to find a place that can accurately weigh the car and give me the weight balance. I'd like to use my G-tech. Anyone in the Los Angeles area know of such an establishment?
  2. Finally got a way to host these scans. Mods thus far: SR20DET (vildini) Chinese Freddy int. Manifold Stainless exh. manifold Greddy rocker arm stoppers GT25R turbo 3" Vildini Exhaust with Megan muffler Greddy Airnx filter Greddy type RS BOV Next up 1/4 mile time... any LA area hybridZ'ers, you're all welcome to mob up to Palmdale, CA next week (friday), PM me. It would be nice to roll up with a gang of Z's. can't wait.

  4. Greddy type RS straight to the atmosphere! Not too loud either.
  5. Forced Induction! Aren't these electric superchargers essentially a modified leaf blower? Makita and NOS: a winning combination!
  6. Any real HipHop fans? http://www.myspace.com/lscatter Support your starving artists and unknown celebrities. what's up gollum!
  7. it looks kind of weird huh? I've gotten offers to sell the hatch (which sucks for rear visibility) but I'd like to get a carbon fiber hatch from beta motorsports first. Or a stock looking fiberglass hatch if anyone has one they want to get rid of...
  8. Hey John I can see where you're going with your project. That's gonna be dope. Good luck on the long process. I was impatient I wanted to drive my Z right away. You're gonna have fun with that setup. -L
  9. hit up SR240Z on the boards here. Or go to http://www.vildinimotorsport.com I actually want to see a KA24DE turbo in an S30. My brother wants an RB for his. what can you do?
  10. What about a MAP sensor? If you get the Apex PFC (d-jetro?) Why not go MAP? Or perhaps Q45 MAF? and Asad, I like my 25/40R even though the 2871 spools faster...as they say.
  11. I've encountered a similar situation in a previous car (not a Z but a CRX) and it sounds like savageskater is right. I should double check mine. Have you asked Alex for his input? Do you have ducts under your IC? Great way to mount it. -L
  12. Alex put up the pics of my SR swap. This was way back when (fall 05) The car looks a little different now. I have 16" 5Zigen div3's on it now. I'm trying to find a way to put a front spoiler on without interfering with the hood. -L
  13. My sympathies man. I let my L28 turbo '73 go for peanuts. I hope you got a decent amount to absorbs some of that separation impact. One project at a time is the best way to go. Get that V8 Z...
  14. A good turbo to upgrade to would be the Garrett GT25/40R which is what I have in my '73 with an S13 SR20. I still have the stock injectors and MAF and it's running pretty smoothly with no great loss in MPG. Alex Vildini could tell you more since his shop put it in. It is a much quicker spooling turbo. It made 259 hp on the last 350Z dyno day in Wilmington, CA. I was giving those G35/350Z guys some decent competition. As far as boost spikes, mine peaks at about 10 psi before settling at 9 psi (autometer so accuracy is sketchy) I haven't heard any detonation going on, but my margin is a little closer than yours. I know you are trying to save fuel, but in my experience it's always safer to run rich than lean. BTW, how much hp is your SR pushing out?
  15. This topic is something I see much of on other boards pertaining to newer cars. I was wondering if anyone here has been pulled over for their Z looking "high-performance." In my experience with my previous project cars: '89 240SX, '88 CRX, and '96 turbo Integra respectively, there was always an exceptional amount of attention thrown my way by the constabulary, despite low key sleeper status(no ricey tin can mufflers or neon underglow or gargantuan wings, jolly rancher lights, or what have you). But when I was driving my Z's (I had two '73's concurrently) I got looks from John Q. Law but no red and blues flashing at me. I appreciate this side benefit but was wondering if any of you experienced this almost harley-davidson-like courtesy or if the fuzz dropped the hammer on you and your "racing stripe clad, loud exhaust having, fat tire burning Z." Anyone?
  16. Right on Lewis! I know exactly how you feel. Any plans to dyno or take it to the strip? I just dyno'd my car and will post the printouts soon. LA county raceway is next. Let me know how the car does. Have you thought about taking the car out to Cali for the MSA show? Have fun!
  17. Not really, but I don't have any weatherstripping around the doors right now. The fumes are so thick you can almost see it. My Z used to have a triple carbed L28 and i thought that changing the engine would help. Now my '73 is sr20det powered, and the fumes are as bad as ever. I'm going to sell my hatch and install all the proper weatherstripping soon. At speed on the freeway it's like tear gas up in the cabin. I hope changing the hatch will help. I hope to get one of those beta motorsports carbon fiber hatches.
  18. How deep are your pockets? Seriously though, if you want to do it right contact Alex Vildini. Vildini Motorsports handled the swap on my '73. I was rollin with a mikuni triple carbed, built L28. With an sr20det I get high revving, boost induced, high mpg gettin' horsepower. It's apparent that I am pleased with the results, as you'll see when i get all my goals met. In terms of dollar amount, whatever budget you add up with parts...double it to be sure. The cost of the SR swap rivals that of most well executed V8 swaps. Maybe the gas mileage pays off in a decade or so...actually it should. Do it.
  19. the F20C is RWD the K20 is FWD, both have 6 speed and are great motors. Supercharging is the way to go. I wanted to put an F20 in my old 86 corolla GT-S. Somebody here told me there was one out there...
  20. Is that customer me, Alex? Anyway I've had the L28 triple carbed on an E31 head in my '73, and I've had the SR20DET replacing that. From my standpoint the SR reigns supreme. I'm not knocking the KA however, I've owned a 240SX and had bolt-ons on the KA and it was pretty potent. I've also owned an Acura Integra which was eventually turbocharged using the Greddy kit, and I might still have gas receipts proving that my MPG improved upon forced induction. Anyway I think the KA is a viable option for real power. My car sould be back out within a week. Look for me at the Irwindale or palmdale drags whooping on my brothers turbo Integra. Then I gotta get my points card. I shall tame the turbo beast.
