  1. ...My buddy Dennis has many connections in construction and he played an integral roll in the construction of my first garage. So today, When I was picking up a fireplace insert from him for my garage, he asked if I was ready to build the extension on my garage. I said "Why do you ask?". He informed me that a company that does concrete and block work, along with excavation work has hit a slow period and is looking for work. I told him to call the guy and see what a 28X28 garage with 13ft. ceilings, a 16 ft. by 10 ft. tall roll up door and a pedestrian entrance would run... Well, On the way home I get a call from him. Guy said he would have to see how much excavation would need to be done, but he was thinking he could do the footers, slab, and all the block work for $14,000. I've already had prices double that much! Looks like I'll have this little project start within the next two weeks... The porsche/viper/somethingreallyfast will have to wait... Mike
  2. That's simply amazing. The Ruf Yellowbird is still considered to be one of the baddest Porsches ever build by the aftermarket. Mike
  3. No swaps... I've got two in the shop that aren't running right now... This is something I'd want to have BONE STOCK and drive every day if I chose to, and NO MORE Convertibles... Tracking a convertible gets a bit more attention in tech inspection and more safety is required. Mike
  4. So tonight I got the check from Calgary BMW. The M roadster is going to be shipped up to Canada. I'm depositing the check tomorrow and we'll await it's "clearing" before we release the car and the title to the dealership in Charlottesville Va. I had some fun in this car, but it was a huge letdown not to be able to track it. Not sure how much I'm truly "losing" on the sale, since a $1200 service is due on it. I sold it for $2500 less than I have in it, but I'm glad it is going away. Not sure what I'm gonna replace it with at this point. I'm looking at at everything from Used GT2/Twin Turbos & Carrere S, to brand new Z06s and Viper Coupes. I'm also looking at Subaru WRX/STis and E36 M3s. I'm gonna wait at least two months before I make a move. I don't need the distraction from finishing my Zcar. But it'll be good to owe nothing but our mortgage. Fun FUN FUN! Mike
  5. Guys, Before you install that new motor in the car... Put the freakin' headers on... I just spent two hours removing motor mounts and installing the headers... It was a royal pain in the arse... Also WHO is using WHAT oil pan with these headers? My Canton pan with my welded mod isn't gonna work. It's too close on the passenger side and HITTING on the driver's side... Not real happy there... Mike
  6. And I didn't even section my struts... Jamie did cut out a LOT of metal on my fenders when doing my ZG flares. Not sure which spring you'll be running, but that'll help forsure. You're building a track car like mine, so keep that in mind and take the full advantage of those BIG flares! Mike
  7. Yea, and I need to get this one tuned and then back on the rollers, because it's got a stage two jett kit, the full header/can and the K&N air filters. I just installed a fork brace and some color matched riggs soft saddle bags I already had from my ZX9R days. I'm DYING to get out and ride this thing because it is just SUCH a nice looking bike and the ergonomics are SOOOO COMFY! The Sergent custom saddle, tall windscreen, new chain, sprockets, pipe/jetts/filter, tires and complete service are worth more than half the $3250!!! The torque really makes these bikes... I want a buddy of mine to get his carb sticks on it just to make sure it's running right, and then I just want to take off for a week and ride... My brother just bought a camping resort in Kentucky over the last 45 days, so I may have to head out there for a few days! Mike
  8. I can assure you folks that we've got lots of "stuff" at work to make sure those who get banned stay banned, and those who try to harm us get harmed... We've been doing this for a while and we have was of reaching out and touching those we want to leave us alone. Mike
  9. So, As I draw ever closer to firing my motor up, I sit and look at Jim's Zcar, which won't run, due in large part to idiots not knowing how to tune the Holley software... The same software used in the fuel injection system on my motor, that THIS idiot doesn't know a thing about either... So I've been searching for carb parts to install on my motor to break it in, and onto Jim's car to get the motor to run properly, and wouldn't you know, there are some real finds out there when you have a little patience... A Holley Street Dominator intake was bought from jt1 for $75! THANKS JOHN!!! A Holley 750 Double Pumper, referbished and completely checked out was bought from a guy I know for $150!!! A referbished Holley SuperBlue Fuel Pump was bought off ebay for $75!! And finally an Edelbrock plate/regulator/fuelline kit was bought for $60 from Ebay, still new in package and for a Holley setup! So, for the complete fuel and intake system to run this car, I'm into it for less than $400! I'll get the cars running with this setup, get Mine de-bugged and then get BOTH cars with BOTH fuel injection systems down to Jeff Creech in North Carolina for some serious tuning. And this time, I'm gonna keep the carb stuff sitting on the shelf, because you just never can tell when you're possibly gonna need it down the road! Mike
  10. Jody Creegan Used these on his car (jbc3) and has had good success... http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=116452 I think an extra layer of matt would work just fine. Mike
  11. Eric, I gotta buy you a beer or six at some point! Of course, I bought the bike when it was 74 degrees... Now there's ice and snow a week later... Go figure... Did I mention I'm DYING to ride it??? Mike
  12. You could and I've seen one used... Mike
  13. Mike + Kelly = Mikelly First and Last names merged... Mike ps... We also have Z-Hag who is a female member...
  14. You know it Tom!! We'll hook up once the weather improves! Mike
  15. ...And disappoint them with serious shrinkage... I knew there was a reason I didn't have a pool... Mikelly
  16. ...And again, Why not go with a 350? Parts are practically falling from the trees and more power is available with less effort... If it's to do something different, then know that everyone who looks at it will assume it's a 350 anyway and you'll get to spend more money for the same power. Your approach is lacking a bit of logic here... Mike
  17. Uh, Doc, NO there wasn't... Keep the strippers coming to my place, thanks! Let the other guys play in Mike's "pool"! Mike
  18. Nope. Although the added adjustability is nice, it isn't required. Rear control arms with ability to adjust toe are great... Also, the front arms might extend to the limits of camber, but beware pushing the arm so far that you run out of thread on your tie rod. Mike
  19. Actually, No. We'd still have it. It's just like having a party at my house every weekend. Not always a big turnout... That's OK by us. You guys don't seem to understand that since this site is funded with private donations, and since a number of the admins have a fair amount of deep pockets, HybridZ will still be here long after people have gone. We like people being here and using the info we've collected over the last 6 years. We also like them acting within accordance of the rules. Mike
  20. I'd go for the 350CI and gain the extra HP and torque... No matter how "cheap" you can get it, you'll wish you had done the 350 in the long run. Mike
  21. How about you link you to some threads via our search engine? There are a lot of threads on this very discussion, and we typically don't spoonfeed noobs... Your average SBC consists of an average 350 with a T5 or T56 tranny. You can get by with the stock R200 diff until you decide to upgrade to CV axles and LSD... Welcome aboard and prepare to read a lot... Mike
