  1. She might! Yea, I was thinking that not mounting the switch box and the ignition switch was about the most bone headed move I've done on this project. Remember when I said everything had been working at one point? That was with the switch box in place and all the toggles working... No wonder half the circuits are dead... They're not TURNED ON!!! Mike
  2. Tom came to pick up his tools today, and got wrapped up in giving me a hand with a couple of things... He'd left his wiring "stuff" during the last Wrenchfest. So while we were chewing the fatt, the Fedex guy shows up with the new eshuast for the 996TT. Tom and I got the packing peanuts from hell experience all over the garage! Then we moved onto the shop and Tom got wrapped into sorting out my wiring mess... In 45 minutes he firugered out what was wrong with the wiring for the turnsignals, and I'm happy to report that not only do we have turn signals, but my accusump, remote oil filter lines and a few other things are done! I owe you dinner Tom! Mike
  3. The second gen MR2 was the first car my youngest stepson ever drove... Lasted 32 days, before he crashed and totalled it. They are noisy as all getout inside, and I wasn't a fan of the seats, but otherwise it was a capable, nice ride with a very unique look to it. Working on them? I'll pass thanks! Mike
  4. Congrats Jon... Tell her good job, and her search for a suitable candidate to replace you will go far! Just kiddin' man! Good on Ya both! Mike
  5. Go over to http://www.tirerack.com and educate yourself on section widths, tire widths, and the type of tire you'll need for your application. You'll also want to know what UTQG is and which UTWG rated tire you'll be able to live with... The lower the number, the more sticky the tire. The higher the number, the longer the tire will live. It's a balance between wet pavement stability, Dry pavement feel, and traction. You say 500-600HP. I can personally attest to the fact that it'll depend on those factors above. This week I've driven to work in a 600Crank HP car all week, rain or shine. The Pirelli PNero Zeros worked well in all conditions, so long as I didn't get stupid with the gas pedal. I'm personally shooting for two sets of wheels/tires for my track Zcar. I want a set with rain tires/street tires mounted up that will still be suitable for the track in wet conditions, and I want a set with some road race slicks mounted for the track on dry days. Mike
  6. Hmmm... You know, I hear this all the time about MML. But every time I order from Ross, I get the stuff immediately. He even gets back to me with questions top make sure I'm getting what I want. Case in point was the studs in his custom stub axles. I wanted half inch studs to match those in the front aluminum hubs I bought from Jamie Taylor. Ross Made sure I got what I wanted, and they match pefectly and work like a charm! Putting a kit together may well be difficult if you can't weld. There is no caliper bracket that currently works with the stock rear cobra caliper. You have to buy some steel stock ( Used a caliper bracket from Coleman racing and cut and welded it up to my specs.) and fabricate it to make it work with the 240SX are Maxima caliper bracket you plan to use. Mine is a JCR rear early 280ZX caliper bracket. Otherwise, these brakes are the best of both worlds in my opinion. Parts can be gotten quickly, and the OEM support from the Ford crowd is most impressive. Mike Mike Kelly
  7. OK Guys, the time is coming... We're closing in on the big day. BJ, Any update on the preparations? I"ll be planning to attend to assist and just "be there", and oh, provide the balance of the amount due! Mike
  8. Best piece of advice I can give you is to read the rules for living a happy and healthy life here on HybridZ. This is not like any other site on the web. Most can't deal with our rules. Some can. It's real simple. We run a tight ship and this is not free speach. If you can live with the rules, you'll get along well. If not, so be it... Good luck, and I was the one who deleted the thread outright... Mike
  9. Jim Pearl, AKA BLKMGK is talking about doing this same thing with the remnants of his wrecked 95 Supra Turbo. He's still fighting the insurance company for a settlement on the accident, going on two years later, but he's talking about swapping it all into an SC300... The fact that I've now got the P-car boosting the power it's putting out is just fuel for his fire! Mike
  10. Search here for pics... 2004 Quad Cab Dodge Ram 3500 Series 4X4 Diesel w/ Dump bed 2001 Porsche Twin Turbo Modified to 510WHEEL HP 1997 BMW 328is Sedan 1999 Kawasaki ZRX1100 Mike
  11. There's actually a bill in the state house up for approval right now (might have gone thru this past week actually) with regards to requirements for size of and maintenance of roadside memorials. Couple things come to mind though... Often the site is a fairly dangerous location (Hence the memorial in the first place), making it more of a danger with people trying to stop and pay their respects. The litter is another factor. I think it would be difficult to regulate these sites though. We'll see how it goes... I know when my Wife's mother died (Before we met), they had a roadside memorial for a while. However, after a period of time, it was dropped and now we all pay our respects at her grave. Mike
  12. OK, Normally I wouldn't point out something so far fetched... But I gotta... Gunrack in the BACK WINDOW of a ZCAR? Mike
  13. Yup, What Chris (Savageskater) mentioned just went to trial here in Va. It is considered a F-E-L-O-N-Y! That's no fun and serious Assrammin'prison time... Check the anger, and drive to survive. Remember, We're all in the same world and it isn't worth ruining the rest of your life to show the other person or "teach" them a lesson... And Van, I'm with you... Carrying consealed is a challenge when confronted with idiots. Mike
  14. Hey How about some pics??? Mike
  15. We all give in to these issues from time to time. Stupid people have a way of sucking you into their fights... I have seen this with people on the road, on the web, or in life one on one. The key is to recognize when you've had a bad day, you are dealing with someone who has had a bad day, or when you're dealing with someone who is truly not worth your time... Get over it, move on, and be glad that you didn't let some idiot ruin your life as you now know it. Sometimes realizing we're human is humbling. Have a drink and send me the bill. Mike
  16. This is an excellent case in point... Mike, I've chatted repeatedly with you offline and I don't understand why you seem to continue sticking your foot in your mouth. You do it and then apologize profusely offline, and then do it again. I'm pretty sure that you will never "get it" and that at some point someone will ban you... It's just a matter of time. Vertech, If he met me face to face and had a run in with me, then he likely got the same dose that he'd have gotten online. I am who I am in real life, as I am on this board. So if he got his panties in a bunch because he made a stupid comment or tried to lay claim to some BS that didn't make since and I called him on it and told him what I thought, Oh well, so be it... It isn't the first time I've broken someone's rice bowl and it damned sure won't be the last. I've repeatedly told people on this board to be who you really are here. You might just meet some of us some day and find yourself embarrassed when we bring up things that happened online. Mikelly
  17. Oh well, what can I say? We have a goal for how this site is run. Those who don 't agree and then begin down a path of argument and debate, well they tend to end up on the losing end of the stick... And what's worse is it doesn't have to be like that... All it takes is someone THINKING before they respond to someone with "administrator" attached to their name... It happens on every board. It also helps when people read the rules, or take a conflict OFFLINE... We don't "try" to hammer people, but we're also going to run this board the way we, the sr. staff have envisioned... Those who don't want to comply need not apply... Simple as that. Mike
  18. Our condolences to you and your family for your loss. And you''re so right. This is not a dress rehearsal... You get one shot at life... Mike
  19. Pretty Sure the warranty has been voided. Weight grossly exceeds the limits of the machine... Mike
  20. I lived the Cat3/Amature MTB racer life from my late 20s and into my mid-30s... To become Cat1 you gotta live on your bike... MAJOR PROPS to you Jim for getting there! I don't even ride my bikes these days, because just looking at them makes my body hurt all over... Mike
  21. Here's something to keep in mind... Life is truly a journey, and is one of opportunities, What you make of them, and how you sell yourself. June of 1984 I had just graduated highschool and had no clue what I was going to do with my life when, One night after work, I spent from midnight until about 2AM drinking at the local Pizza hut where I was a cook and she was the manager... We got drunk, did things people shouldn't do on the salad bar, and then I jumped in my 73 Celica and drove off at High speed... I got arrested for wreckless endangerment after being clocked doing 110 - 40mph zone... After dodging that bullet, at the hands of a cop who was now fighting the town he was sworn to enforce the laws for (Broken leg in a domestic disturbance call sent him off the deep end and throwing cases, mine included), I was given a second change... I signed up for courses at the local community college, got a degree in criminal justice, went on to a number of other universities, got over 400credit hours, was hired by one of those three letter gov't agencies, and started down a path... Since then I've been: For the Federal Govt: Law Enforcement Police Officer Administrative Assistant Analytical Intell Assistant All Source Analyst Movie Maker Multimedia Production manager As a Gov't Contractor: IT Unix System Administrator Software Test Engineer Software Test Team lead Project Manager Program Manager Systems Integrator Systems Engineer Senior Systems Integrator BUSINESS OWNER in the Cleared Contract World I started out making $14390 per year. The moral of this story is that in 20 years I've made a career of change. Change is good, and the quicker you can adapt to change, the faster you will rise above... Only you can manage your career. Don't let anyone steer you otherwise... Mike Kelly President Brickner, Kelly & Associates
  22. I own an IT/Analysis/Secure Construction consulting firm. We've got 10 employees and consult to the Federal Gov't thru prime contractors on 5 current contracts. We started 18 months ago and are in the black (We own the company outright with no outstanding debt!!!), and it looks as though we'll experience significant growth over the next 3 years. Mike
  23. Hookers and cocaine... Hell that's what I thought your afterhours activity included in your trips into the metropolis of Milton, North Carolina... Atleast your car has seen the track... Mine will possibly never make it... Mike
  24. To put this into further perspective, The last Touring 1 Race run at VIR during the 2006 SCCA racing season saw fastest qualifying times of 2.05 by Chris Ingle (if memory serves, but might have been Lance Knupp). That time was turned repeatedly over the 30 minute race as well and was turned in by a C5 Z06 with a minimum race weight of 3280# with driver in car and fully gassed up. On average those C5s are making approximately 360HP at the wheels and they're required to run a completely stock, unmodified drivetrain/shocks/brakes. Mike
