  1. ...Mike, Mine is gonna have 12 foot walls so we can out the lift I'm buying in it. Today we leveled (By hand) the footers, moved the stumps out front (My neighbors are gonna love me!) and hauled off all the roots, old lumber I had stored, and some old railroad ties we had dug up. 3 loads of debris later and Donna and I are BEAT! I'll call the county tomorrow to get the footers inspected... Then its block ordering time! Mike
  2. I don't have a website right now Sylicon Boy, but I'd be happy to discuss it with you offline, and I can send you pics of the control arms I have! Mike
  3. ...So yesterday my lovely wife and I empty out all the Zcar parts and yard "STUFF" from out 10X12 shed that just happens to be sitting right where the garage is gonna go. I'm supposed to pick up a backhow at 12noon, so we need everything out and out of the way before it gets here... By 0930 the chore is done, and the phone rings... The company I'm supposed to get the unit from says "The guy who had it is gonna keep it for an additional week...Sorry!" So I'm calling around to find another one and get lucky enough to get one that will be delivered for the same price as the other unit I was gonna have to pick up... Only catch is that the bucket is 24inches wide and the one I was gonna get was 18inches... which would have required less conrete = Less money! Oh well, I just want the project under way... So my dad and brother arrive and start laying out the leveler so we can shoot the grade and make sure we get the footers consistantly 18 inches deep. Mind you, to this point in my life I have built one set of stairs and a deck that sits ON the ground for my hot tub... I've never built a bird house, let alone a garage... Footers, shooting grades, my brother and dad are speaking alphabet soup at this point.. The backhow is delivered and I climb in (Never driven one of these before either, but what the hell..) and I take it around back where I'm ejected from the seat by my brother, because...I've never driven one of these before! We pull out 5 stumps, and dig the complete 32X24 set of footers in about 3.5 hours. I'm beat, exhausted, but glad we finally got the project under way... Now to get the footers inspected so I can get the block in so we can move past the concrete phase and to the framing/ construction of the structure... Went with bonus room trusses which give me an 11X32 room up stairs of the garage, which will make for one heck of a nice storage area... Gonna run electric, water, heat and AC (Ac for the upstairs only) and cable (Complete with my network connection for the computer!) out there... A true GUYS dream garage, if I survive all of this! I'm also gonna have a lift installed Hopefully by the time we have the HybridZ eastcoast meet... My everything hurts today... and how the hell do you get rid of the stumps once they are dug up??? I'm not sure the landfill will take them... Have to tackle that one today! Mike
  4. That is an R230....Have two sitting in my garage...I'd love to have the axles out of it... Mike
  5. ....THE MID ATLANTIC ZF RACING Sponsored HYBRIDZ Get together will take place from 10AM Saturday September 7th until people leave... I'll provide the food, and drinks, and all you have to do is show up. For those of you who are on the fence, our area is steeped in history from the civil war, and you could easily make a weekend of it with the spouse. Fredericksburg and the surrounding areas provide plenty of shopping to keep the significant others at bey while you enjoy a day with the guys and the cars... I'll get Donna to play social director for those that need it... By the Way PETE PARASKA will be the guest speaker at the event and he will be detailing his 10+ year build up of his car in PAINFULL detail... Jamie Taylor and I will be on hand for comic relief.... Mike
  6. Tim you hit the nail on the head... and unfortunately (John Coffee could probably chime in here as well) most kids with a sporty car or superbike act the same way... They get a few months experience under their belt and they think they are the best driver in the world.. I'm taking my older stepson to a Friday at the track (FATT Program at Summit Point)next month to show him just how good a driver he ISN'T in his 94 Civic... I'm putting big brakes on the front of the Mustang JUST so I can go to this event... Mike
  7. Yup, we are still on for a HybridZ/ ZF racing get together on September 7th. I am planning a BIG bash! Mike
  8. ...Unfortunately we have members who get on the keyboard and mouse to quick before making the right selections. What members don't realize is that most of the administrators are running short on time, and it takes a lot to keep the forums cleaned up... Bottom line is IT IS LIKE YOUR HOUSE OR BEDROOM... You want it to be nice and orderly, then police yourselves and keep it cleaned up and orderly. Do your research before you post, and ASK YOURSELF if it is pertinent to the specific catagory BEFORE you post... It is so easy to just do the right thing.... Mike Kelly Administrator
  9. As some of you know, I bought another bike recently and I've been hanging out on Sportbikes.net. This type of stuff goes on over there ALL the time. People are stupid when it comes to bikes... I hadn't ridden in a while, so the first thing I did was get the right gear. Second thing I did was AVOID all the idiots out riding in large groups, stunt riding, and showing off. Last Saturday ALONE there was a 5 BIKE pileup accident up on Rt 211 in Sperryville, which is very mountainous and very curvey... Idiots with tons of cash, and NO BRAINS... Learn to ride, then learn who to ride with... Darius is VERY lucky to be alive, and the pics sicken me... Mike Kelly
  10. ...At the amount of support there is in the auto community for Mustang 5.0 and 4.6 parts. I thought the import scene was huge and cost effective to get into. I just priced a complete Cobra R brake package upgrade for the 95 GT we just bought and the whole Kit, Rotors, calipers, lines, pads, bolts, EVERYthing is $439 out the door for the front of the car...then I go over to Corral.net and they have Powerdyne Supercharger kits (9# boost) going used for $800-1200 for complete kits. I WISH we had the kind of market support for Zs that they have for Mustangs... It is a real shame... Yea, I know they are heavier, and on every corner, at every stop light, but they ARE quick, and have tons of tuning potential for CHEAP! Mike
  11. I guess I should chime in here since they were made by me. They are the version one of our rear design and one of my customers is upgrading to the new tubular design and I can tell you guys that he paid MUCH MORE than the action price for them. They are powder coated I believe and VERY functional, if not quite as sexy as the round tube design... Mike
  12. Just got off the phone with Scat and their forged 383 stroker package including bearings, TS Rings, 4340 crank, 4340 Ibeam rods with 7/16 cap screws, SRP pistons, and Clevit 77 bearings ALL BALANCED and SHIPPED for $1933.85! I'm gonna probably order this within the next two weeks if the Rods and Pistons move... Then all I have to do is locate a flywheel and put it all back together... Mike
  13. Mark, I've got most of my stuff sold, which means I'll likely order a 383 stroker assembly from SCAT and just avoid paying all the shipping to send my stuff out and then get it back. Wasn't sure if I would be able to sell the crank, flywheel and balancer, but I did, and now someone wants the rods possibly (Buyer of the Crank), and I might have a line on the Pistons too! Thanks for checking though! And I did get your e-mail! Mike
  14. Actually I have a domain already, but no site designed... I'd ship to Ausie if you pay the actual shipping charges. Let me know! Mike
  15. Mark, Send me your mailing address off line and I'll have all my stuff shipped to your house. I'll have the new crank and flywheel shipped up to you as well! Mike
  16. Mark, I'm in the middle of negotiating selling some of the stuff... And I may end up with a new forged crank out of the deal... I'll also still need to locate the flywheel, but since I'll be going with a new forged Scat crank, I should be able to get it in the proper bolt pattern for the right T56 flywheel! Mike
  17. John, We could always put it on my brother inlaws lift and test fit it...If it fits, you could just pay me for what I have in it and I'd order another one.... Mike
  18. That is TOO cool... Give me a ring! Mike
  19. Mark, I have BRAND NEW forged rods and pistons, and a like New Fuidamper balancer, and all related parts. All I need him to do is turn my crank and balance the assembly. All he would need to "SELL" me would be the bearings (Other than his services of course). Sylicon boy, I don't think (But I might be wrong) that the factory flywheel is compatible with the 400Crank, and I thought the LS/LT series motors were externally balanced. On top of that, the setup I have is the two piece main style block/400 crank setup. Not sure of your configuration.... Mike
  20. Mark, I may take you up on that... Can you get a ball park price from him? Internal 383 (400 Crank) forged rods and pistons, ATI balancer, trying to find an internal flywheel for the 400 crank/ t56 combo now... Mike
  21. Folks, I'm having no luck in getting my lower rotating assembly balanced locally, so I'm looking at buying one and then just selling what I have on e-bay or here. Any good experiences with some of the crate engine builders on supplying balanced assemblies??? Mike Kelly
  22. John, Send me an e-mail about the canton pan... Just an FYI, I can't seem to get anyone to balance my engine so I haven't been able to do anything with the pan yet, so I can't speak to its usefullness as of yet... Mike
  23. I think I'll have to take some pics of Jamie's Silver Metalflake powder coating technique on those rears... They look AWESOME...and Surely top shelf show quality! Mike
  24. BZZT, Wrong answer... Sort of... the TC ROd is Adjustable, but the rear control arm is set up JUST like the AZcar stuff... I didn't realize my stuff was priced that much lower than the competitions! Mike
  25. David, What is the FI system doing??? I've got a complete setup, including wiring harnes and ECU I can sell you cheap... It worked when removed from the car, so you should be alright... Mike
