....You are your own best sales person is what someone told me a while back... So here goes.... Those parts are a work of art... HOWEVER, they are NOT on car adjustable, and would be a royal pain in the Keester to adjust or set up, not to mention the ZF Racing parts are CHEAPER to buy @ $850 for the complete setup... Just ask Steve & Ian, Mark Icard, Ruben Whittemore and others who have my setup on their cars.... Adjustability is good, but it is GREAT when you don't have to spend all day fiddling with it! ...And for a limited time, I'll throw in a set of rear control arm bushings free, an $80 Value! I'm not sure of the build, but my 383 is expected to make about the same HP (Grumpy Confirmed this) and I had it together and in my car two years ago and drove it in Washington DC Rush hour traffic... VERY Streetable... But it will DRINK gas... I was getting about 13MPG... I'm hoping I can tame that aspent with FI... Mike

Q45 motor? Q45 Diff? Noone on this board has done the Q45 Engine swap. You will have to look elsewhere for support in this matter, or forge ahead and break new ground! Mike Kelly

I guess I, as an administrator shouldn't ask this pointed question, but have you looked in the appropriate forums??? Here is another tip... Use the Search Function in each catagory... You will come up with WEEKS worth of info. Some times it is better to draw flies with Honey than vinegar... Mike Kelly

Tonight I sold the Blazer (95 model loaded) for $7000. $500 less than what I owe on it, but the trans started leaking fluid again, and I new it was gonna cause trouble in the long run, so I cut my losses.. Lesson here is that you should NEVER take it on faith that someone who has a car in HOTROD magazine takes care of their daily drivers... I'm out almost $3000 10 months later and I'm HAPPY to be through with the ordeal! Now we'll be shopping for something new for the wife. What to buy, what to buy... Mike

Guys, Lets all take a step back... This thread got out of hand and spun from another I deleted. I'm gonna ask the moderators to take a step back, and I'm locking this thread. There was some confusion in the initial post because many of us were confused about the Q45 reference. Most of us thought it was about the Q45 rear. I know of no one who has done the Q45 engine swap to success, and it hadnt been a discusion topic on this site. Now, JAVV, I'm gonna walk away from this post, and hope that you will to, and start over fresh. However, WE HAVE RULES. This applies to everyone here... If this TONE continues in another post, I'm gonna start banning folks. I ask once, tell once, and then the hammer gets dropped. Choice is yours, but play by the rules or get banned. Mike Kelly

One factor that I'll throw out there is that the Q45 doesn't have much in the line of upgrade parts that are reasonably priced. There are decent ALL Nissan swaps out there like ZR8ED's as an option. Plenty of stuff out there to bolt into a Zcar... Just understand our mission on this site. And based on your previous post that I deleted this morning in the Non-tech BB, I'll warn you up front... We are watching you, and I'd recommend curbing your comments. Could we be jumping the gun a little bit? Sure. We run a tight ship here, and that is the reason for our success... Just a little friendly advice. Mike Kelly

polished stainless strut bars
Mikelly replied to Lewis Maudlin's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
I can provide all three of those bars, unpainted for $200 plus shipping. You would have to drill holes for the mounts or weld the tabs onto you firewall or strut mount, but that is your choice... Let me know if interested... All parts are steel, 1 inch tubing with 3/4 inch heim joints... SUPER Sturdy... Let me know.. I'm already making these for Owen! Mike -
The guys that run that forum have been successful in doing so for as long as I can remember...Atleast since 1997, and I suspect they had good reasoning behind their decision to change the format a bit. I can tell you this much...They are much more liberal with their BB topics than we are here, which Pete, Dan and I have drawn fire for. I wish those guys 10 more years of success and then some, because they have a good "ZCAR" site over there! Mike

The trans must be swapped. Wrong bellhousing bolt pattern, wrong input shaft type and size, and just not do-able! Things you would have to mod... Fuel delivery... You won't use the stock fuel pump, as it is designed for Fuel Injection (This applies only if you are doing a carbed V8 swap)... Radiator.. Most likely you will need a different radiator for flowing and cooling capacety.... Electricals... You will ditch the FI wiring harness and modify the factory harness for the swap you plan. Hope this helps... Mike Mike

The white Z, My garage, and a new project looming...
Mikelly replied to Mikelly's topic in Non Tech Board
For the amount of money I'm gonna need, I'll need a very well developed and very accurate plan... I've already been told that this will be one of the harder things I will have to do in life... Mike -
BTW, Greimann that car of yours is the CLEANEST ZX install I have seen up close and personal ... PERIOD! Super SANO, and a real clean car in general, and I'm normally NOT a fan of the 2+2 model, but man...W-O-W! Mike Kelly

Yup... I don't cotton much to being called a liar, and being threatened with arrest in front of family and friends, customers and potential customers. Can't much say anything good once something like that happens... Yea, I can move past it, I just won't forget it! VB All the way baby! Mike

Victoria Brittish is a subsidiary of Long Motor Corporation. I actually get a price break from them for my business, and all of their products have been top notch excepting the weather gasket set I bought from them years back... I heard it has improved. VB All the way Baby! Mike Kelly

Man I've got WAY to many irons in the fire... as Ussual! Anyway, I've offered the White Z up to Les Heath in trade for concrete/ construction work on my three car garage project that I'm going to Kick off shortly. In that transaction, I will free up the space to work on the car I got from Chris, as well as focus on my next move for the ZF Racing venture. I have four sets of control arms to finish up for customers, and then I'll be focusing on the newest generation 300ZX model product developement. After that, Donna and I are gonna pull together the business plan for "Kelly Racing & Performance", a true "TUNER" shop, complete with some bolt ons in the front counter area, as well as a DYNO, three lifts, a fabrication area, and a hunter alignment/ corner weght area. Crazy I know, but if it takes off, it would beat working for somebody else. Hopefully all of this will come together like clock work. I'd love to have the garage DONE by the end of August so I can then focus on the business plan. Our timeline is to pitch the business proposal in January timeframe! Mike

...Which gets back to what I've been saying for some time now... These creations of ours are true supercars. Sub-4 second Zero to Sixty times are VERY realistic in a 2500# car with 400+RWHP! Once you achieve that level of performance, you are sitting in stiff DB6, DIABLO, F50, 996TT company! Serious performers for sure! Mike Kelly

Pete, Good collection of pics... I also want to get a CD with what you took pics of, and give you one of mine... Mike

Guys, I need help locating a T56 Flywheel that will be internaly balanced & have the 400 Crank bolt pattern. My current crank only allows me to have my setup externally balanced. Any help would be appreciated. Mike Kelly

Not sure about VIR, but I know of several asphault and dirt tracks within two hours drive and Summit Point has several series. I know Richmond, Va. and the tidewater area are hotbeds for Kart racing... Mike Kelly

Guys, Several times I have had the chance to go Kart racing, and have loved it. This last week at MSA reminded me of how much I enjoyed it when I was in Germany, and I can't take it anymore... I'm searching for a Racing Kart... The bike is up for sale (Rode it yesterday and it is just too damned uncomfortable) and I'm gonna take some of the proceeds from that and buy a Kart... Actually I'm currently looking at a few on line, but I'm pretty serious about it. I'm also re-evaluating my ZCar plans and one of my project cars is outta here as soon as I can find a buyer... Mike

My Lincoln SP125 is highly adjustable (No clicker switches, they adjust infinately) and uses either flux core or gas (Which I highly recommend!) and was a great deal brand new for around $500 shipped. I know a couple of guys who have seen my welder and made comment that they wished they had spent the extra few dollars to get it. I can run it all day long (And have, making control arms) without a problem. I ran a single 30AMP circuit into the house from the garage to run it, and I've had zero problems! Unit has probably 100 hours or more on it without a single problem... Mike Kelly

Anybody buy new body parts from this website ever? Very good
Mikelly replied to a topic in Body Kits & Paint
The quality of the fender was good, and the metal looked as good as factory, came shipped in black primer. However, it took 6 weeks for it to be delilvered and like a dumbass I didn't check the shipping... I just got the sticker shock when it arrived. When I saw that I just cancelled the order on the hood, which would have been close to $200 for shipping alone. VB has good quality sheetmetal... I'd check with them as they ship within 24 hours. I can't recommend MSA for personal reasons. Mike -

...These are the same guys that charged me $90 to ship a Civic fender to me that cost only $65! Beware, they do not quote the shipping cost on the website! I wanted a hood from them, but after the bill for the fender came in I decided I didn't need a straight hood that bad! Mike
