Yup, he would need the pump, regulator (Which I have!), and the stabilizer... I should SHOULD have all that if I can find it in the tons of stuff I have, and if not, they aren't that expensive... However, I ebt I have one... I know I have the relays, and all the elctricals! Mike

...In short, you are screwed and you need to go face the music...Man that SUX. I'd call the clerk of the court (Don't go in in Va or they will have you apprehended on the spot!) and find out what your total to settle the initial amount is, and then pay that (Via check or money order or CC) and then after that is cleared, turn yourself in, and ask to be released with a court date. You probably won't get a day in jail initially, but you may pull time when you finally go before the judge. My recommendation is to use the money you get from the sale of the Z towards squaring it all away. And then stay the hell out of trouble! Mike

Man you stole that car... Nice deal! Now you know why we do what we do! Imagine running low 11's and high 10's with Road Race like handling? The possibilities are endless! Welcome to the fold! Mike

You should be able to move them easily...Webbers are popular with lots of Zguys... Try selling them here or on Zcar.com. Look over there and see what a similar set is being sold for. I suspect you'll be able to get a couple hundred atleast for the carbs, intakes, and linkages! I've been out of the performance L6 stuff for a while, but they were selling (used ) for $500-600 a few years back! Mike

Guys, I need to get a set of ZG flares for the new Z I'm planning to build. Sources, and recommendations would be good. MSA is not an option. Mike
-
Yup, you can do this no problem. All you need is a FI intake, FI Wiring Harness and ECU. Make sure to get all related sensors on the intake... BTW, SHameless plug here... I have ALL of the above mentioned parts minus the TPS and I'll let it go for $150 for everything... This includes injectors, TB, and I'll throw in an extra ECU. Might even have another Mass Air meter laying around.. I'm Realy wanting to move this stuff out of my shed... Mike

Well it looks like I'll be delayed a week or two while the county and my construction consultant battle it out over how to deal with my soil issue. It can be done, and it will be done. Making the county happy is the issue. So, besides that little pissing war, Les came down on Saturday, evaluated the situation, did the math for my concrete and then took a look at the White Z i'm offering up for trade for services. We have avery amicable deal struck and Les will become the owner of the white Z I have slaved over for many years. It is quite possibly one of the straightest shells I've ever owned and I'm glad it will go to a new home. This will allow me the chance to get the other Z (Chris' Project I acquired!) started, and the cage and paint work done hopefully by October, if not sooner. Mike

I already have the Ross/ Scottie CV adapter for the companion flange on the stub axle, and I do have a set of aluminum adapters for going from the Diff Flange, but that unit bolts to regular axle shafts. I think this unit is just wide enough that you have to shorten the axles... Mike
-
OK, so now I have in house a set of R230 Axles, TWO R230 diffs with axle flanges, a re-drilled Mustache Bar, a Modified Driveshaft that allows you to use an R200 Input Flange on the R230 then converts to the JTR driveshaft I have... All I need now is another set of Complete CVs and to make a front mount... Just contacted Dave about an aluminum brace... Anything else I might have missed??? Mike

The stumps were easy, but expensive... $340 for backhoe rental for Saturday afternoon and all of Sunday, and $200 to this guy with a truck to haul all five of them off... He used a rollback and a winch... But they are gone and I now have the start of some footers dug... Mike

...Along those same lines My older brother racked up a bunch of tickets in his early 20's and had his license suspended. By 1997 (He was 35 then) he still hadn't taken care of them, and his license was still suspended, yet he was still driving and had NEVER been pulled over. One day someone at work told him that the base he was working a construction project at had shut the gates and was checking EVERYONE who went out, checking registrations, licenses, the whole bit. Be had to leave his car and pay an employee to drive him home. Took him two weeks and $3600 to get it straightened out... No matter how bad the fine is, or how much red tape you have to go through to get something taken care of legally, just do it. YES fines are a hassle, and yes tickets SUCK, but they are a reality, and will only follow you around for the rest of your days... and grow into $3600 mistakes you wished you had paid when you were in your early 20s... Just ask my brother... it caused him to put off buying his house by six months. Mike

Nemziz... Very COOL Car! I love the flares and the suspension work is awesome... Mike

I will tell you what was told to me many years ago by Vince Bugliousie (During a project for College), the famed prosecutor of Charles Manson. "We all harbor the capacity, the malace to kill. We feel it in rage, fits of anger, and sometimes in the most pleasurable of times." The fact that some one takes the life of another isn't so much unfathomable, as it is timing, circumstance, or bad luck gone worse. Be it the right place at the wrong time, perception of a threat, or desire to achieve a goal by eliminating someone for personal gain, be it business, relationship, or other reasons. However, never underestimate the people in your life, your family, your neigborhood, or where you work or play. Any of us are "Capable" of taking the life of another. It is a sad reality of our lives... and the reason I eventually changed my major... Mike Kelly

Pete, I was refering to someone else! But I appreciate the thought... Yea, My attached garage is 23X24 and it got small safter I loaded it up with shelving and work benches and other crap...I have probably got 1000# worth of stuff in the upstairs above the garage! Way to much crap on my hands... When Les takes the white Z off my hands, that will also remove enough parts to build that car, and then I'll actually be able to focus on the other car! Can't wait to get the garage done so I can actually build this car. I suspect that I'll have a complete roller by winter with a painted and finished car by next spring... This Mustang has re-instated my need to build my Z... The 'stang is a nice car, but it isn't near as quick, and the only edge on the Z is in creature comforts! I'm thinking about electric windows and door locks, as well as A/C! Mike

I think the key here is being open minded. I once had someone on another site tell me that they were gonna stuff a big motor in a Ford Fiesta just because I did my V8 conversion... The guy was being smart about it, but I found some data where someone in Germany had done just that very thing... What I'm trying to say here is that YOU don't have to understand why someone else would do a conversion to their car, as it is just THAT... Their car. Closed minds close doors... HybridZ is about opening them! Have fun! Mike

...Here is what WOULD have happened... You take the car...If you got out of the yard and if it wasn't seen and IF a witness didn't report it... You sell the car to your friend who then goes and registers it in another state... State runs the VIN EVERY TIME a title is processed. IF that car has been stolen, it will show up, the clerk will go into the back room and call the police, and your friend will be stalled at the counter filling out MORE unwarranted paperwork in a ploy to keep them on site untill the cops arrive to present the information that HE is buying a very stollen car, and of course THEY (Police) will want to know WHO he bought it from. Now, your friend will certainly ratt you out, since he won't want to go get sodomized, or toss someone's salad during a stint in jail, so he will certainly roll over on you to save his ass... What's worse is now you will be sitting back fatt and happy counting your money and thinking you got off on it and then, out of no where, like a bad Starsky and Hutch re-run (Minus HuggY BEar), the police will swoop down on you to cuff you and cart you off to a magestrat... PAY THE FINE and sell the car... Yea, you'll MAKE $800, vs. paying for the next ten years.... Mike Kelly

... The saga continues... I have a soil Samples Engineer coming out to the house today to asses the mess in the back yard... As for lifts, I can get them "re-certified" delivered, and installed for about $2700. I've seen them for as little as $400 at auctions, but I'm keeping my eyes open for a deal or a hookup, which one of our esteemed members here may very well provide... Mike
-
Damn....Last night I had a soil & foundations engineer come over and inspect my footers for me... My soil won't support what I'm building, which means we're still building it, just with more concrete spread over a larger area, and rebar running through it.... This is gonna add to the cost, and take more time.... Mike

Thure, Taking risk is one thing... Riding like that IN TRAFFIC and around UNSUSPECTING motorists is just unacceptable in my opinion. I lost a cousin a few years back due to two other kids who were drag racing... Guy crossed the double solid line and Hit Mealony Head on doing so much damage that it took over an hour to cut what was left of her out of the car. Had to be a closed casket. I had the task of collecting personal effects from the car before the insurance company had it sent to salvage and the destruction was unimaginable. Calculated risks are one thing, takihng liberties with unsuspecting innocent lives is another... Darius didn't have an accident. It was an incident caused by his actions. Had someone else be collected in the incident, it would truly have been traggic. Now, I don't want to be called a hypocrit, YES I SPEED. Yes I have ridden a wheelie, and yes I have ridden faster than I probably should on the street in both cars and on bikes (Hell, even my truck..). I Don't do it around pedestrians, moving vehicles or on busy streets, and I always encourage going to the race track. On any given evening (Like last night for example) I'll have between 3-10 guys in the 15-22 year old range come by my house to BS... I'm ALWAYS reminding them that we have LOTS of racing options around locally, and none of them on the street. It simply isn't worth risking the lives of others, jail time, or litigation. My $.02, but when you lose someone you care about to the senseless negligance of someone else, you might rethink your actions... Darius will either kill himself or someone else if he continues... Killing himself is his business... Damaging someone elses personal property, injuring them, or worse is just plain wrong, not to mention the impact to health insurance and motorcycle insurance costs. This type of stuff is KILLING the sport of motorcycling... Mike backatcha!

Guys, I"m so darned busy lately that I haven't been able to take pics of parts that people want to buy. I'll try to get pics up in the next couple of days for you... Mike

...Lone, everyone had an opinion, and there was enough gasoline coming from elsewhere to ignite that one. For my part, I offer an apology ONLY from the stance of administrator. As adminstrators and Moderators of the board we are expected NOT to start wars on the board. For whatever reason, I didn't take a middle ground stance on that issue... Although I didn't know Kim's personal legal battles with Mike Knell, I took a stance that was hardlined because I believed in it from an engineering stand point and still do. I made my point, and rather than ignore the postings of others, I to allowed it to get emotional and heated. Guilty as charged.... Still MUCH valuable info in that thread... LOTS of good info! Mike

....Oh THAT infamous thread..... Good source for GREAT info early in it...Punch out Maverick after about the first three pages... Mike

I'm looking at this setup for our 240SX. Only other thing I would need is a clutch pedal assembly since ours is an automatic car, and I'd rather have a manual shift. I think a lot of folks are doing cool stuff the the SR20 because of the weight and boost potential... Aux, I say do it... I agree with Pete that 300HP isn't a lot, but realy if you add up everything in a small block chevy buildup, you'll get nickle and dimed to about the $3000 level anyway, and it sounds like you get everything you need with that package minus the intercooler and assiciated aftermarket electronics/ BOV/ BC/ Turbo Timer... I have a pair of the fender flares... They look to be of good quality and I'm impressed with how they should blend in. I don't have them installed on the front fenders yet mind you. My rear flares are fiberglass, and although they look nice, they were hard to install. My initial recommendation is that these are worth the money based on durability alone. I've heard a lot of guys complain about cracked flares, and these won't crack... They'll bend, but no cracking... Mike
