    It is a r-33 gts-t 5 spd and I used the front half of the driveshaft from the same tranny. with the z-31 rb motor mounts it slipped right in no need to cut ;>

    oph yea if you wnet rotary id go 20b. there would be way too much engine room space with a 2 rotor. i think youd be able to get it mounted totally behind the pillars ;> guess that would be good for handeling. As mentioned above they are very fragile above stock tuning. adn when they let go are kind expensive to rebuild especially if you paysomeone to do it. stony

    less then 350hp??? youll need to put a restrictive exhaust keep the stock intake system and computer. mine is open face turbo upgrade fmic. stock booste sds EMS and im at or above 350hp .... ill be above 400 easy with just injector upgrade. rollcage, subframe connectors, upgraded fuel system, r-200 diff, front and rear strut bars. and the list goes on. of course if you dont mind tweaking the body none of this is necessary ;> my 2 cents l8rz stony

    If you have the sourcing to get the parts need i highly recommend the rb-26. im very happy with mine but i built it while in japan and the entire swap cost less then 8000 (entire drivetrain,intercooler,EMS, ect ect ) on the bone stock motor i should be able to get into the 10's with a little more tuning. when i upgrade injectors and turn up booste it will be a consistant tne car ;>. All If your gonna be in the states id recomend building a twin turbo v-8... with your budget should be a problem and would be somewhat original. dont for get the chassis mods quite a bit of money involved with build the chassis strong enough to handle even a stock rb-26
  8. I know chromoly is lighter then steel but by how much??? is it worth the 300-400 dollar increase over a steel cage(12 pt) i also know it is stronger.... How much stronger. I want to do this right the first time and need as much advice as possible. i want to eventually get into the low 9's ;> and want to make the chassis as strong as possible. anyone ever seam weld there car? does this make a big difference? thanks stony
  9. Ditto what pete said. most of the awd 4 cyl cars were designed to withstand alittle above stock HP. add any amount of considerable HP and i think your looking at alot of trannys and axles ;>
  10. Hey scottie, hows old mark doing with the silvia? havent heard from him in a while. he's not your friend doing the gn-7 is he ;>
  11. in japan there is one there is also a fc3s rx-7 awd with a rb-26 pretty radical ;>
  12. yes in japan they came with an rb-20 dohc single turbo those are the mounts you need
  13. im not sure about the rb-30 but all the other rb- cranks have a different size pulley bolt and at not interchangable with the rb-26. a good rule of thumb is about the only thing that is interchangable are the head and there are some minor mods you need to do to make that work also stony
  14. oh yea if you didnt realize it the rb-26 intake will not bolt up to the rb-25 the 2 heads are interchangable on the block with some mods but non of the head parts are interchangable specifically turbos and intake manifold. different bolt patterns
  15. im using a 3.90 rear end but the tranny was out of a car with a 4.75 . id like to swap to a 4.11. the rb swap is a bolt in job if you have all the right stuff. the oil pan from the z-31 rb-20 bolts right up to the rb-25. the 2.6 can use the same oil pan but req some cutting and welding to work. any rb motor will bolt in with the z-31 rb-20 motor mounts. stony. im looking for 550cc or bigger injectors anyone have any ?

  18. oh yea my attemp to get into the 10s this weekend got rained out ;
  19. hey dan you are the poop!!! I cant believe ive been driving with it at 1500 for 5 months and that was all it was was that damn little screw!!!! i was told there was no way to get it to idle down by the guys in japan without having the stock computer hooked up . hey I have access to a good copier would you be willing to send me your copy so i sould copy it. ill pay shipping and all that... if not ill totally understand thanks again stony
  20. hey that red z i believe has an RB-26 in it ;>
  21. Dan If you could look in your manual and tell me if they have info on how the rb-26 idle circuit works or if it even has this info that would be cool. mine wont idle below 1500 right now because i have sds....was wondering if there is a way to trick the engine so it idles down then use sds fast idle option for warm up. thanks clint
  22. If you use thE stock manifold youll need to lower the engine too....or cut thE hood. the intake manifold wont clear with the z-31 mounts. good luck stony
  23. Nion i used teh stock l engine rubber mounts and the rb-20 mounts from a z-31 japan spec.... if you have any friends in japan or can get a hold of anyone thats what you need. to be perfect you will need to custom fab a set... my motor sits alittle more fwd then i liked but about teh same as teh L motor. with teh stock mounts you have about 3 inches between teh firwall and engine. i dont have any pics of teh mounts but if i get it on a lift anytime soon ill take some laterz stony
  24. Ok here we go ... got the line lock hooked up and the no load throttle thing fixed i can rev to 6000 no problem. im gonna try for 10s on the 8th of july. hopefuly i dont break anything ;> scotty have you ever broke anything if so what? I was thinking the axles will be the first to go especially on a hard launch. my clutch is relatively stock (GTR) and i dont think its strong enough to hold and break something but we'll see. Im gonna trailer myself up to the track with a friend this time ;> laterz stony
