    240z specs

The engine is the L24 and by manual are you talking the manual that came with the car or something like this? http://www.themotorbookstore.com/datsun-240z-260z-280z-manual.html
  5. Some head porting/bigger valves, custom cam, Custom intake, and a fuel management system and that thing would be fun. My grandpa's jeeps has GOBs of torque down low, but really falls off in the upper rpm range.

  7. DL right now. 666kb/sec, gotta love that.
  8. wow, it looks beautiful. Its a work of art. Almost too beautiful to hide under that car.
  9. http://sullivanperformance.com/YVS450/tech/tech1.htm scroll about half way down the page for the info. This will answer a lof of questions about the mod engine fitment into a Z.
  10. Ford 4.6 SOHC 500lbs Ford 5.4 SOHC 525lbs Ford 4.6 DOHC Aluminum Block 425lbs Ford 5.4 DOHC 540lbs Ford 6.8 SOHC V-10 640lbs "Accurate weights are hard to come by. It seems everyone has their own idea of what constitutes an engine assembly. Was it weighed with all the accessories, was it dry or filled with fluids, etc. Use this as a guide, these numbers are close but will vary from what you see elsewhere."
  11. Man am i glad i live in canada. All we have to do here is De-tune the car, throw on some catalitic converters and go through smog testing. After smog testing, take out the cats, set the tune back to original, and your done. if a cop stops you, he will probably check for cats, see there not there and give you a VI(Vehicle inspection). All you do is throw the cats back on, pass the VI and then take them out again.
  12. Someone else posted this but it definatly applies here "Fast, Cheap, Reliable: Pick any two"
  13. YEha, i have an issues of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords beside with with all the heads i listed and their results. AFR 165's beat them all.
  14. The gt40 heads are good, but there are WAY better heads than those for a similar price. the holley 17, Canfield, edelbrock performer, brodix and, AFR 165's all outflow those heads and make more average and peak HP
  15. Trickflow makes a GREAT head. Ive heard a lot of people going from Trickflow to AFR's though. If you buy an aftermarket block, be prepaired for a LOT of machine work. There are a few turbo kits for SBF's out there http://turbochargedpower.com/ http://www.turbo-kits.com/mustang_turbo_kits.html http://www.cartech.net/fordturbo.htm http://www.proturbokits.com/ hope that helps. keeps us updated.
  16. Id sooner stuff an q45 engine in there. all aluminum, 6 bolt mains, and LOTS of room for improvment.
  17. the 03-04 cobra blocks are made from cast iron, so it is not all aluminum. those engine weigh 600 pounds(cant remember where i read that, maybe MMFF), with the block weighing in at 190 pounds alone( i have one sittin in my bedroom). They have cross drilled 4 bolt mains, and the DOHC engine are much better than the SOHC engines. The DOHC engines have 32 valves, 4 per cylinder, and the SOHC engines have 16 valves, 2 per cylinder.
  18. Yeah, these engiens have gobs of torque. My uncle has one in his f150 and he has had NO engine problems since new,and its a 92. They can be a bit loud though, and are pretty tall. He even ran it to the point of the oil light coming on and it still runs like a champ.
  19. your best bet at finding a good setup thats suits your budget is searching on corral.net or stangnet.com.
