  1. Maybe the image size is too big, or the file size is too big. try resizing them to a smaller image.
  2. Hmmm. I didnt know that. We had heaps of L20B's in Austraila. I just assumed they had them in the JDM too. Our 810 had the L20B and was known as the 200B. http://www.ratdat.com/history/1973to1982/1973to1982_pic.html alot of people swapped the L20B into the 510's, as they drop right in, and look the same.
  3. OK, I have 2 engine choices for my 240z. In my shed I have an L28 and a bunch of L20ET parts to build an L28ET. I also have an RB20DET. I like the idea of either engine in a 240z. What do you guys recon? Which engine should I put in? I guess i'm trying to get a pros and cons list for each engine to help me decide.
  4. Rocky Auto is probably what you mean. http://www.rockyauto.co.jp/
  5. They look good as a convertable.
  6. If all they want to spend is $1000. Why not just spend the money on reconditioning the engine it has (whats it got A12,A14? or is it L series?). At least that way you spend all the money on the engine, and none on manufacturing conversion parts like engine mounts and cross member mods. If its for their daughter, I guess they mostly want it to be reliable. Convert it to Electronic ignition. Plus it would be quicker to do, but if your happy to volunteer your time to do all the work for nothing, then the CA18 isn't a bad engine.
  7. Hey Aussie Marco, you should check out this site: http://www.wazregister.com for some local z heads
  8. wow! save fuel and gain horsepower all at the same time. I saw an auction for a ebook about how to run your car on water. no more petrol price worries. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180070236893 Steam engined car perhaps? Seriously, if these things worked, everyone would know about it.
  9. Corrections to the above: kpcg10 = 2 door gtr skyline S20 (if it had an L20 its just a KGC10 ) C110 Skylines 1973-1977 C110 Skylines also came in a wagon. pcg110 = 4 door gt skyline Ah, I dont think so, The P in the chassis code stands for S20 engine (GT-R), and I dont think there were any 4 door GT-R C110's, only 2 doors. think you mean hgc110 = 4 door skyline. kpcg110 = 2 door gt-r skyline khgc110 = 2 door gt skyline There was a turbo L20 in 1977? The first Skyline to be turbo charged was the C210 which was made from 1978 to 198? (2 maybe), though I cant remember when the turbo version was introduced. Friend of mine had a 4 door one. If you are getting your info from wikipedia, dont bother its all wrong. I picked my 2 door C110 up for AU$500 (US$381), and my 4 door C110 for AU$650 (US$495).
  10. Thats because there isnt one in metric. I was going to make one. Started but never finished it.
  11. Did anyone consider tilting the engine over to the opposite side to get some more room for the steering? plus maybe some modification to the steering? I reckon you could make one fit.
  12. Ah, less annoying. Thanks. Mike, Maybe you computer is set to log you in automatically, so you never noticed it.
  13. Why do you have to enter the scrambled number from the image every time you want to do a search? It's very annoying.
  14. I just went out an had a look at my 240K. It's a front sump L28. Sump is at the front, dipstick is at the front. It looks like is not an L28 from a 280ZX, but probably from a 280C or a Nissan Patrol. Thats the only other nissans we got with L28's. I also have a L28 from a 280C, but thats up at my parents house, so I couldn't say what sort of sump position it has. I guess you could use the oil pickup an sump from the L20A, but dont know what you would do with the dipstick. Maybe have the block re-drilled for it?
  15. I dont think that would work too well. I remember seeing a photo ages ago that was a S30 Z front end on a C110 skyline. That looked weird too.
  16. Dunno. I'll take some photos on the weekend for ya.
  17. Hi. The C110 Skyline was also sold in Australia as the Datsun 240K. These guys should be able to help you out with C110 specific questions, like the sump problem you are having. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=102 If the L20 crank in a L28 block with L28 pistons produces a 2.6 liter engine, then it sounds like the L20 crank is pretty much the same as a L24 crank. L24 crank in a L28 also makes a L26 i hear, but the opposite of the L26 made by Nissan (which was a L24 bore, with L28 stroke, where as this would be L28 bore with L24 stroke). I have an L28 in my 240K. It was in it when I bought it, so i dont know what work was involved with the sump to fit it. Always good to see pictures
  18. So I wonder if Ron's friend ever convinced the old Japanese man to sell him the mogwai, umm, I mean OS Giken.
  19. Yes. But the early 260z had the same latch as the 240Z, he might be in luck. Just make sure you check that before buying the doors. Also the rear hatch is different. I believe the hinge positions changed between the 240 and 260, so that something else to check before you buy it. Grab the zx turbo exhaust manifold if its cheap and sell it to someone in Australia
  20. 48mm (H4 oil pump on the coffee table using a ruler method).
  21. No its a full length movie that runs about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Its heavily compressed thats why its only 650mb. If you arent seeing the whole movie, maybe your download was cut off, and your are only seeing the part that you managed to download. Theres some stuff after the credits too. (If you cut out all the non car related scenes its probably around 30 minutes). Also there is no "original car", as it was based on manga. I dont think there are any pics of the car used in the movie on the net (I've never seen any), but basically any blue 240Z/260Z with ZG flares, a Fairlady grill and fender mirrors would look the same.
  22. If your not planning on ever removing it, id use rivets spaced about 3 inches apart, then blend the edges into the metal with filler, sand and paint for an invisible seam. Thats how the rear flares were done on my car. Found that out when removing them. I've also heard of an adhesive called sikaflex (dont know if thats how its spelt) that is used in the automotive industry.
  23. The Corvette Summer 240Z. I heard that the corvette from the movie ended up in Australia. I saw a corvette on ebay AU a while ago that looked exactly like the one from the movie (minus the flames). Aparently some molds were made off the original car.
  24. I think he was talking about the miata seats you had sitting in your driveway in this pic http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b380/yorgee/240z%20project/HPIM1033.jpg
  25. Funny how people believe that. Bondo will stick to primer, or even paint (not polished paint obviously). Putting bondo onto bare metal is a good way to make your car rust.
