  1. On any LS6 intake equipped LS1 you will not find any EGR. The cam profile allows for enough leakage at part throttle so it was eliminated completly from 2001 and on. Dale
  2. I could be wrong, but I think that too much rod will cause this too. If the M/C cannot return to the home position then it wont operate properly and you wont be able to bleed it correctly. This is what I think is wrong with mine, but I wont know until the monsoon season gives me a good dry break. Dale
  3. I know someone that lives in Ptree city. I'll have to ask her if she ran through the streets screaming while the blind guy was racking up points. _dl
  4. Look how close all those people are to the car. You would never catch me that close! The movie is wild. If he would have gone off track he would have killed 10 or 20.
  5. Mike, I am assuming that you represent JTR. Will the mentioned 140 dollar aluminum radiator equiped with a Taurus 2 speed fan cool an LS1? Dale
  6. Maybe these will be of intrest, it is good info on HID. http://www.intellexual.net/hid.html http://www.illusion-lighting.com/ Dale
  7. Great, I ordered a set of A4's last week and hope to have them on Monday. I didn't order any brackets or options. Hopefully I can install the sliders without an adaptor, but if not I can make one out of some aluminum stock I have floating around here. Looks close on the seat belt from you picture and I am a little worried about that but I plan on a roll bar next month and will be upgrading the belts. I am about 5'6 and weigh about 145 so I should fit ok and look forward to sitting a little taller in the saddle. I have been installing new carpet and am putting some 6X9's behind the seat facing up mounted in the raised floor so I can have some tunes. Dale
  8. I bought John's cars stuff for mine. I'll be swaping this summer. http://www.brokenkitty.com/zcar/zcar.htm Dale
  9. Overhead cams and associated hardware are expensive. Although if you look at the link below you can see an article writen about a blown 600 hp northstar and what they went through to get it there. If you have to money it would be cool, but the engine looks really wide. http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/engine/113_0303_north/ Dale
  10. If you get a 2001 or newer LS1 it will already have a LS6 intake on it. Also the heads are a little better than the older ones and 400 + RWHP can be done with a cam, springs, retainers, pushrods, and headers. Dale Oh yea, and a good tune (400-500 bucks).
  11. Check out this link. I believe that they found it easier to just setup a company to do the shirts. I dont believe there is a minimum and they make their money selling the shirts. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=129889 http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/ Dale
  12. The LS2 will still have 2 valves per cylinder, the LS7 is rumored to have the 3 valve setup. LS2 will have the same stroke as the LS1 but will have a 4.00" bore ( Can you stay stroker block!) and a few changes in the cam and crank sensor locations. From what I've seen recently it looks like the LS2 block, heads, and intake will be swapable with the LS1. Dale
  13. I'll go for a couple of shirts and a hat. Dale
  14. Some of the vans look like transformers. That one car looks like it had a Cuda rear on it, that was different. I must say they are creative, but I dont really like the style much. Whatever floats your boat, Dale.
  15. You pull the rockers, and pushrods. Then you spin the cam and the lifters will stay up on their own (most of the time!). Then you pull the cam and push in the new one. When I did mine the first time I used pen magnets to hold the lifters up, but on the second cam I just spun and pulled. I have heard of lifters dropping into the pan before doing this and that means pulling the heads to put them back in. Dale
  16. Better flowing exhaust scavenges better. Is the engine Fuel Injected or a Carb? It there an O2 sensor involved?
  17. My low beams dont work either so I replaced the combo swith yesterday and they still dont work. When I get time I'll trace the problem out, but dont assume that the switch is the problem, mine isn't. Dale
  18. Yea, you are giving up about 40 hp up top and loosing some low end torque using the stock 241 heads so going to a smaller cam is a good idea IMHO. But just for kicks here a thread to read. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=173784&highlight=X1+Converter Dale
  19. What type of converter are you running? Big cammed LS1's need alot of convertor, like 4000 or 4400 if you can get traction. What cam's are you using? What type of springs and retainers? What were the torque numbers and can you post the chart? Did you tune it while you were at the dyno? What are the pre-programed shift points? I got lots of questions, sorry. Dale
  20. I wouldn't do it. It seems like too much money for something on EBay. For one thing the guy wants you to use Mobile 1 at break in (just sounds fishy). It might be a good deal, but Mr. Goodwrench has the ZZ383 with a factory guarentee. http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?action=prod_detail&catid=120&pid=156334 Dale
  21. After having that happen to me once on another board whenever I have a longer post I started doing all mine in "Word" first then cut and paste into the "post a reply". That way I can spell check and check the grammer and not wory about time outs.
  22. Well if you come up with one before I do my install next month then put me down for one now! PM me if you need a deposit. If I do the bottom I will do your std alum 200 top to go along with it. Dale
  23. Thanks Phantom, I'll go with the spicers for now. Soon I'll have accumulated so many parts that I'll have to work on the car or move out of the house. Dale
