  2. i would get a one gallon fuel cell and seperate fuel system for your nitrous. that would be the right way and just use c14 in the fuel cell. i dont know if i would use that octane booster. it doesnt say if it is motor octane or not either.
  3. you can run a 100...just make sure it dont pre detonate or go lean. retard timing and run race gas through your nitrous system...or put a mix of race gas and 93 depending on your c/r. You can buy trw's for pretty cheap....like around 300 on ebay i think if you put a hole through one of yours. I also looked on the net for an hour between my classes and i didnt find anything on for the part number you gave...if you really want to find out you'll have the pull the piston out and look at it...i think theres info on the inside of the skirt if i'm not mistaken.
  4. i agree with veritech-z....your gas evaporates out of the fuel bowl. but it would take more then a couple days to do that. i know in our wood truck after sitting over the summer i just dumped alittle gas in the carb and it took right off rather than cranking and cranking to fill up the bowls. check to see how much gas you got in your bowl after you let it sit. you might have a small leak somewhere. cause if it runs fine after you start it then i wouldnt think it would be the mechanical.
  5. either in hot rod or the chp mag they did a test on x pipes, h pipes, and open headers.the x pipe made alittle more power then open headers and the h pipe got the lowest hp on the dyno. The engine was a sbc but i forget what ci because it was along time ago since i read it. just alittle info
  6. after looking i found a number that is close and very might well be the piston. they are keith black hypereutic pistons. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=UEM%2DKB228030%2D8&N=700+0&autoview=sku yours would probably be std. bore though because your # dont have the 030 on the end.
  7. theres a tube chassis vette that runs at the track that usually wins the quick 8 class with a sbc and a intercooled 96mm (might be a 101mm though) turbo. the best i've seen him run was a 4.2 in the 1/8 @ 159. so you dont really need a bbc to make power but classes like that are dominant in roots blown alky bbc.
  8. thats also a drag only car. it would overheat if used it as a street car...but from the trailer, down the strip, and back to the trailer the engine will actually be cooler then an engine on gasoline.
  9. You dont need to run a radiator using alcohol. you burn 4 times as much fuel on alcohol then regular race gas. alcohol is a cooler burning fuel too.
  10. From what i've search a 15x8 wheel with a 4.5" backspacing with a 235/60/r15 tire (M/T drag radial) will work on a stock suspension 280zx right? I just wanted to make sure because most the stuff i read was on the z's and not too much on the zx's. thanks for your help.

  12. already i am repaiting my '83 280zx. i LOOOOVVVEEEEE blueovalz color but i got t tops and racing stipes wouldnt go well with t-tops. I was wondering what you guys think would be a good color for my z. i was thinking of some sorta blue or black to match my t-tops and grey interior. thanks for any input.
  13. i read in one of my chevy high performance (or maybe hot rod or car craft) mags on how they used the old 350 mounts and adapted them to the ls1?? but i cant find the mag . I will definetly check out your site. thanks

  15. ohh...the reason i asked this is because i found a lt1 for sale near my house and the guy is selling the engine in parts (heads, shortblock, injection system) and just wanted some input on the pros and cons of each.

  17. hey, this seems like a really helpful board and i got a question. i want to put a ls1/t56 in my 83 280zx coupe. I did some researching and saw that they only had the kits for the z and not zx. Is there a way a could modify the kit to mount in my zx? thanks.
