  1. skip white sells pro comp aluminum heads on ebay....i think there 750 fully assembled and they flow good according to his charts for the money. I'd get the 190cc intake runners. He has real good feedback so it's not like he is selling junk. The heads are casted in australia and machined in the us by skip white so thats why they are so cheap. But always remember one thing...you get what you pay for.
  2. you will have to get the headers for mounts your copying off of. if your doing jtr mounts, jtr sells headers for the zx.
  3. If you run an intercooler and 93 octane with about 9.2:1 I think you should be safe with 10-12 pounds.
  4. whats your setup and any dyno time if you dont mind me asking?
  5. Kechup, what mp turbo are you running or have run?
  6. There's alot of positive comments on the MP turbos too. I was going to go with MP and still might, but i'm looking into the s400 borg warners.
  7. as far as i know he just came up with the idea for the show.
  8. read this. http://www.turbomustangs.com/smf/index.php?topic=69962.0 and then search and read more on that board. LOTS of great information and things most poeple would think would be unbleivable like a stock truck engine w/140K running 9.50's with 20# of boost and a shot of nitrous that holds together. Those guys on that board know how to build horspower for cheap and some build UNBELIEVABLE HORSEPOWER for expensive like this guy http://www.turbomustangs.com/smf/index.php?topic=77283.0 Bill Lutz 6.99@203 in 3500#
  9. I'd definetly buy it and plan on what you want to do with it later. I think you'll make out in the end no matter what you do with it.
  10. its prolly over 9:1 then, so i'd say like 6 pounds of boost maybe 8. If you drop a point of compression you can add two pounds of boost which will give you roughly 30 more horsepower. Course buick guys ran 25 pounds of boost on stock bottom ends (I think they were cast pistons stock) and didnt hurt anything (even heard of a couple pushing 30), but then there headgasket was a safety feature, blow the headgasket before putting a hole in your pistion, and that's not on pump gas either too. Just buy some forged trws or now speed pro. They're not a big dent in the wallet if you dont mind replacing pistons. But just remember that whatever goes out the exhaust goes into the turbo i.e. little motor peices that likes to destroy turbos.
  11. They will hold up as long as you keep it from predetinating. Also depends on your c/r.
  12. I got instructions on how to place the mounts. But I think thats all i got. Its whatever instructions they have on there website. So just go to there website and read up. I dont think it has anything about wiring though.
  13. I'm putting a datsun logo on the vavle cover. LOL. Those guys that know something about engines will know its not a nissan but the poeple that watch the fast and the furious and believe all that junk will never know a difference. Great story by the way, I was at the track with my brother-in-law and he's got a F1-R on his monte. And those things are ear peircing at idle...just squeels like you wouldn't believe (say its the nature of the procharger) and a kid in a civic came up and said close to quote "yo man, whats wrong with your car?". My brother-in-law said that he just replaced the muffler bearings and they weren't broken in yet. and he replied close to quote "yea man, i didnt know they sounded that loud". I just about died laughing when he left.
  14. I am by no means a leader. LOL. I was just like you and all I did was search, read and take in.
  15. just call comp cams. they're very helpful but you have to know weight, heads, carb, type of cam,intake,c/r,rear gear, stahl, and power adders, bore and stroke, what will be used for, and your max rpm and headers, i think thats it.
  16. yes you can just flip them, but i'm using the patriot headers I listed because they will allowing plenty of clearance for the hood with the 90's. Here is the post off turbomustang board I got it from. http://www.turbomustangs.com/smf/index.php?topic=69962.0 If you get bored I suggest searching and reading all the stuff on that board. There's alot of great imformation on that board. There's a guy on there that has a stock sbc truck motor out of the junkyard and runs 9.50's with a turbo and nitrous. He said the motor has 140K on it. You'll probably see some of his posts too.
  17. I cant wait to mph guys! One thing I love about forced induction.
  18. I hear that...Haha....J/K like TeamNissan though!!
  19. grumpy, are you fixing your garage up to live in? I expect next to come is a refridgerator, then a TV, then a microwave, then a/c and soon grumpy will be nowhere to be found except when he pulls his vette out to get grocery's/beer run. Haha. Anyway nice garage. Getting a dyno in there?
  20. Dr. hunt you'll feel better, I bought a 8 cylinder powerglide w/ a 1.76. It was cheap so I couldnt pass it up. Also thought this would be better for the turbo setup with the higher first gear.
  21. Yea, i'm definetley excited about it. The best part is going to be when I pull up the gas station and say fill it up. LOL. I'm going to run 8 pounds when i'm on the street, and at the track about 12 with some race gasand 93 mix (no harm in being safe). I am using patriot headers and flipping them, putting a 90 on it and mounting the turbo up front like a buick gn (down lower though) and running 4" back from that. The other thing is that its going to be so quiet too, most poeple will think its just a turbo L6. LOL. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product2_10001_10002_755468_-1 ^^thats the link for the headers. I stole that header idea from a guy on the turbomustang board so I can't take credit for it.
  22. Well I got the engine bay empty right now and parts to start working on mounting the engine. But with college its hard to get time to work on it, and with me wrestling in college I have no time at all cause it takes up the weekends. I will post pics with the progress I make and I should have it done by end of june. My brother is a mech. engineer at john deere in iowa so he is going to tell me the exact turbo specs I need since all he does is work on the new turbocharged engines. Trying to talk him into hooking me up with a new garret but I dont think thats going to happen. LOL.
