  1. A. i did use 100 octane timed at 36 degrees--- it wasnt tuned for 100 octane, i just did it to make sure i wasnt pinging... B. i had yet to tune the SDS system, which the whole point of having SDS, is to tune the car perfectly... C. i had a tranny that i had to shift with like a good 1.5 seconds to shift....it would grind horribly.... D. i had wheel spin all the way through first, and then in second, and STILL trapped my speed at around 108 MPH, which is a high 12 second time for an NA L28 will- the manifold looks great---hopefully some people will like it!!!! if you could do it anyways, you could sell a lot of the designs on eBay...
  2. yeah--dont remove those weights---thats what centerforce is
  3. wait, you have a v8Z and you lost to an Rx8? ive driven the triptronic version of that car, they arent that fast?!?!? how fast is your v8 Z? it like stock small block or somthing?!?
  4. other option is Advanced Machine in Kennesaw GA.... they used to work on Z car engines- i told them i got a P90 head and the first thing he said was are you going to shave it 2mm and shim the towers needless to say, its up there right now... they arent in the phone book, its a really small shop, kinda word of mouth buisness only... talk to Jim. 770-974-8581 id reasearch both shops, warren knows his shops real well too Sunbelt is also in atlanta, but Steve Knootz works at Atlanta Racing, they work on Z cars.... talk to steve- 404-299-8100 tell him andrew sent you if all you are doing is installing a cam, id bet atlanta racing is your best bet---
  5. i watched the 260 video again last night... make me cry...
  6. welding tip....ive got one in line with my map sensor....but ive got SDS... it creates less turblance in the suction--or something like that...it creates a nice constant vaccum through a small port... i was told to use it per the Dyno operator...he said they did it with a porche a few nights ago, and it made improvement...but i cant vouch for it.
  7. lets put it this way: SDS blows both carbs out of the water hehehe... i agree with some of the first comments...the air is a stright shot into the head with SU's...i would think they would have better performance than a 4bbl anyday...IF they are tuned right by someone who knows what they are doing.
  8. i like the guage work a lot...but i would have done them level, and differet ones----oil temp and pressure right next to each other :-/ also, it needs to be a boost guage on the center of the wheel :-0
  9. hehe i wonder what it will feel like if you hand slips when taking a bolt off??? when you scrape up against it that is
  10. hell, all you have to do is spray engine cleaner all over the place and it will clean right up i bet!!! a guy i know at a Z shop around here sprayed his with a bed liner, but it wasnt rhino..it was one smoother than that...but it looks just as good.
  11. you can mount the wastegate anywhere you want, but in corky bells turbo book it talks about specific places it needs to be for power and what not--- i think someone mentioned, i think its JeffP said his is RIGHT up next to the block, right next to the turbo flange itself..its a tight fit....
  12. it looks like there is a chunk taken out of the valve stem?!?!?!
  13. dang, i hit 13.9 at 102mph with a 2.3 60' time... i guess you didnt get traction nismopick?
  14. ive never seen urethane ones before...that would be nice though.
  15. right, but the valves dont move! when you do a shave..the only true thing you are changing is the height of the cam above the deck.. to make up for that you shim the cam towers. now to make up for moving the camshaft up, all you change there is the distance from the cam lobe to the rocker arm... to make up for that you just get thicker lash pads?? once again, i NEED to keep these stock P90 valves...
  16. just aquired a VERY SWEET p90 head off ebay..stage 4 camkit, stainless steel valves, all that. well, im going to shave it 2mm (.080'') and shim the cam towers up. now, ive been told to use N42 valves (longer) and shim the springs up too. Being this head comes with stainless steel valves, i DONT want to change them out. So to compensate for a messed up wipe patter by rasing the cam 2mm, cant i just get 2mm thicker lashpads??? they are not stock retainers, they come with the schinder cam kit! is this right or wrong?
  17. austin, one more thing, what center caps are those???
  18. bring it, ive seen his car in real life!! it looks amazing! i just mean, that guy that photographs those pictures has to be on of the best photographers ive ever seen---autin picked a winner to snap some pics!!! he could probbaly make my moms volvo stationwagon look sweet like that! and besides, i wouldnt be caught dead putting austins car down, hes going to rape me this coming up SEZ... we never did race against each other last year i dont think, did we?
